Reviews mention

  • Hilarious, high-energy gameplay
  • Simple, accessible ruleset
  • Engaging, social experience
  • Abundant, creative expansions
  • Explicit, polarizing content
  • Diminishing shock value
  • Occasionally outdated references
  • Audience-dependent enjoyment

Cards Against Humanity wins big in reviews for delivering uproarious, easy-to-learn party play that sparks belly laughs, quick bonding, and late-night chaos—especially with larger groups and expansion packs—so yes, it works. Reviews also flag clear drawbacks: humor can be crass/NSFW and alienating for sensitive or mixed-age crowds, cards lose shock value with repetition, and some prompts feel dated or hard to play with certain audiences.

  • Definitely worth playing! There is a free online version that offers all of the extension packs.

  • super super fun and honestly a good party game

    Feedback

a little repetitive and restrictive to the amount of cards

  • Totally a personal preference but this game just isn't fun for me. Friends seem to really love it and have tones of expansion packs.

    Feedback

    eco-friendly packaging

  • I think it’s a fun, staple card game to have at home for any parties or gatherings. Like any game, it can get old if you overplay, but I don’t have any complaints. It’s fun and a sure way to get the whole group involved

  • Great card game for friends- always guaranteed a laugh.

    Feedback

Obviously they have to cater to different audiences, but some of the cards (e.g. people I don't know) are less relevant to me and my friends. I solved this by replacing those cards with inside jokes which made the game 10x more fun. I wish they included some of these blank cards in the box!

  • So much fun and guaranteed to spark some interesting conversations and lots of laughter! Continuously come back to Cards against Humanity and have a couple of expansion packs to switch it up a bit as well.

  • This is always an easy game to have on hand when people come over. We love to use it when we’re getting to know someone since it give us something to do

It drags on a bit and can get redundant

  • cards Against Humanity is my go to party game. It is great to play with your friends on game night and is like an adult's apples-to-apples! Love it so much and highly recommend to anyone looking to have a fun laughter-filled night.

  • My group of friends love this game! It gets you to really think outside of the box. All of our imaginations ran wild and we came up with the craziest things. It's a great game to let loose and break the ice.

  • Fun game to play with friends. I used to play the online version of it, not sure which came first. Wouldn’t recommend it for younger kids but this game passes the time and always gets a good laugh

  • A fun game to play with friends but a bit risky with some family members. Nonetheless, always gets people laughing with the responses.

    Feedback

The expansion packs are great but just overall a pricey game.

  • If you come over to my house for a game night, be prepared to play Cards Against Humanity for hours. I have most of the expansion packs and had to buy a special case for all my cards. I also just purchased the family edition, which is hilarious and sometimes my friends even prefer playing that version.

  • Great fun with the right group of people XD. Will easily keep everyone entertained for hours on end

  • A great game, especially when you've had a few drinks.

You need expansion packs if you're going to play multiple times (which they do offer!).

  • okay game, nothing WOW-ing

    Feedback

it's an okay game when you're drinking with friends to pass the time but isn't a first pick among us.

  • Really enjoyable way to pass the time with friends and family. There is never a dull moment when you play Cards Against Humanity. I have gifted different decks to friends throughout the years. I have also played an online version but it isn't as fun as playing in person with friends.
