  • Love this brand! I use their deodorant everyday. Easy subscription format to refill and I like that it reduces impact on waste.

  • Absolutely love what Humankind is trying to do but the products just don't seem to compete yet. I even love the reusable containers they sell, and was really excited about the design and idea behind the mouthwash glass but the mouthwash itself just didn't seem that great.

  • Incredible products ruined by their unwillingness to improve their product design. I have now been using their deodorant and mouthwash tablets for over 5 years. It's the only natural deodorant that works for me. Their scents are clean and simple, beautifully formulated. Why one star? Unfortunately their attempt at sustainable packaging is a failure that they simply have decided not to address. The refillable deodorant container has a bottom that attaches with a short twist. The container material is very soft, and the deodorant itself is too hard. As a result the moment you load a new cartridge and turn the base to raise the deodorant the base comes off, ripping off the closure tab and effectively turning a $10 refillable container into zero use, since you will have to push up the deodorant manually to use it. I have contacted their customer support several times and all I get is a pre-written email letting me know they will pass the feedback along. They have also stopped making their unscented variety, a minor gripe since their other scents are just lovely. Another minor gripe, notice how the color of the different parts of the container is substantially different. Solution: The original design had a screw top that would work wonderfully as a design to secure the bottom, no need to even make anything new. Nowadays I just soften the deodorant by sliding it around in the refill case a little and tape the bottom on the case. The problem doesn't stop at their deodorant. the lovely silicone and glass cases for the mouthwash are made of a glass so flimsy that it will smash in your luggage or at the smallest impact. And even though the best way to dissolve the pill is to shake it and the cover (and pill storage) are already silicone, there is no good seal. Do not try to shake it or you will have mouthwash all over AND your remainder pills will get soaked and ruined. Solution: Redesign the silicone cover to provide a better seal and use a more durable glass or a different sustainable material. There is no design advantage to the container being transparent other than aesthetics. That's it, a wonderful product ruined by their inability or unwillingness to commit to truly sustainable containers.

  • I really like the price, the zero waste effort, and the look of the product. But unless you shave your pits, be prepared to pull hairs out of the stick after every application. It does not go on smooth. It is so rough that it pulls hairs out of my armpit... ouch! I haven't had it long enough to really test the deodorant performance, but even if it does well, I'll be looking for an alternative when the two sticks I bought are finished.

Make a formula that goes on smoothly. It should glide over my skin, not tug at it.
