Banza reviews and discussion

Reviews mention

  • High-protein, fiber-rich pasta
  • Convincingly pasta-like texture
  • Gluten-free, celiac-friendly options
  • Consistently tasty frozen pizzas
  • Prone-to-mushy overcooking noodles
  • Slight beany or bitter aftertaste
  • Fragile shapes, breakage issues
  • Sticky, grainy long-cut texture

Banza earns strong reviews for delivering chickpea-based pasta, pizza, and mac & cheese that often taste close to traditional versions while adding substantial protein and fiber. Reviews praise the consistently tasty pasta (rotini, cavatappi, shells), kid-approval, and standout frozen pizzas, but note weaknesses: noodles can overcook into mush, stick, or break; some shapes feel dense or grainy with a bitter/bean aftertaste; spaghetti/long cuts underperform; and texture declines as leftovers. Ideal for gluten-free or higher-protein swaps, provided cooking is precise.

  • Banza pasta is a great high protein alternative to normal pasta. I love that I can make it for my gluten-free friends as well. I love their mac and cheese, it has a good amount of protein so I can base my whole meal around it instead of making a meat for dinner.

    Raviolis!

  • Love the pasta! Tastes great and the concept is super smart

  • LOVE their chickpea pastas and rice. I’ve tried out a bunch and they’re the only consistently good one. If cooked according to instruction it doesn’t fall apart and it’s sold in most grocery stores outside of big cities which is convenient for traveling.

None. Buy it all the time.

  • It’s just okay. It tastes okay with tomato based sauces but it really ruins dishes make with white sauces.

    Feedback

Lose the additives. Other companies have been able to successfully produce the same products with just the chick peas.

  • I really like most of Banza’s products. The pizza can be hit or miss sometimes, but overall, it’s an amazing substitute if you’re avoiding other types of pasta. Be sure to note that it is made with chickpeas, so it does cook differently, particularly the pasta. If you overcook the pasta, it becomes a foamy gooey mess, which is definitely a user error, but one to avoid!

  • My grandmother is celiac and has tried many different kinds of pasta without gluten and these are her favorite by far! Whenever I see them at the grocery store I always pick them up for her.

A slightly lowered price would be great.

  • Super tasty and gf. Expanding a huge variety of products which makes gluten free food more accessible!

  • I love the chick pea pastas. They're a great grain alternative. The pastas are still very carb heavy and not ideal for someone trying to be keto or low carb. Yummy!

  • I really enjoyed the pasta ,and I would eat the pizza again.

It is a bit smaller for the price however

  • Love the noodles. Haven't tried the pizza yet but I absolutely love the pasta. Delicious and protein packed. Great shape selection. Great texture. Also love how easy it is to find.

Not sure how to sub pasta water for recipes. Would love guidance on how aquafaba compares.

  • I love this better than regular pasta. It has a great taste and cooks well. The spirals are better than the shells!

    More options and availability.

    Feedback

    It’s delicious!

  • Pretty good, great if you're looking for an alternative especially since I know where I can find it. I prefer to eat it with a heavier sauce with it because some days I'm not such a fan of the smell of the pasta.

  • We love this company. Get everything tasty with a punch of nutrition. All of the newer products have me excited every time I visit the store.

Make sure you over cook the noodles a bit, they become colder faster than typical noodles.

  • It was delicious, the flavor was tasty and I really enjoyed it!

  • Amazing gluten-free pasta. When I cooked for friends, they could not tell the difference when I served.

  • I first found Banza through their pasta. Their products have good mouth-feel and flavor. I don't need to avoid flour but when I want to Banza is a tasty alternative.

    Feedback

As good or better than the alternatives in every category.

  • not my favorite pasta alternative, has a weird taste in my opinion.

  • Banza was one of the first in the market for alternative grain pastas. Since, I'm impressed with the brand's innovation and wide scope of products offered. Their pasta provides a high protein alternative to traditional pastas. Their Mac and cheese also gives Kraft Mac vibes. I can't wait to try the pizza.

    Feedback

texture is not as congruent with what pasta as other alternative grain alternatives.
