Reviews mention

  • Protein-rich pasta alternative
  • Surprisingly authentic texture
  • Flavorful frozen pizzas
  • Kid-approved crowdpleasers
  • Inconsistent noodle integrity
  • Sticky, mushy overcooking risk
  • Noticeable chickpea aftertaste
  • Clumpy long-cut spaghetti

Banza earns strong reviews as a high‑protein, gluten‑free swap that often tastes and chews close to traditional pasta and even delivers standout frozen pizzas, while many note it can overcook quickly, turn mushy or sticky, and some cuts feel fragile. Reviews of Banza praise the satisfying, protein‑dense pasta, kid‑friendly appeal, and tasty mac & cheese (notably White Cheddar), but flag inconsistent texture across shapes, occasional bitter/chickpea aftertaste, and spaghetti/linguine that clump or stay too firm.

  • definitely sold at a premium price, but the nutrition benefits do justify the cost in my opinion. unlike some other "healthy" pasta alternatives, you're not going to have to sacrifice as much of the taste here

  • As a vegetarian, being able to cook a quick pasta dish that already has protein in it is a game changer for week night dinners. I am so thankful I found Banda!

  • It definitely hits the spot when you're craving pasta! I had a hard time nailing down the cook time. If you slightly overcook it, it breaks apart really easily. However, if cooked perfectly, it stores decently.

  • This is my favorite frozen pizza ever. Hands down: the veggie one is beyond. 10/10

  • My family has tried Banza pastas a few times. My children and I were not fans of the taste nor the texture. My husband likes it, but he is mind over matter when it comes to healthfulness vs. taste.

  • I love the idea of high protein pasta! to me Banza is so good and a really good alternative!

  • Incredible pizza! Great option for those with allergies or those looking to eat healthier. 10 out of 10. Some more variety in flavors would be awesome to see next!

  • Always appreciate extra protein in my dinner. The taste and feel is really similar to regular pasta although can fall apart when over cooked, which can happen quite easily. There is a slight bean-y smell and flavor but it's subtle.

  • I love Banza, especially for no-meat days — the protein helps you feel more full and like most alternatives, isn't super expensive! Taste-wise it just tastes like a non-egg-based pasta, but it doesn't taste like chickpeas if you're worried about it. The texture is a little more firm as well but I enjoy that!

  • Best GF pizza I've ever had (hard to find) and I regularly buy the pasta noodles. I love having an easy protein option that doesn't taste bad.

  • Love this as a high protein alternative to other pasta brands! You can taste the difference (in a good way!)

  • I wish I baught this more because it's delish and I have not had it in a long time. I am tempted to try some of the new options because I loveeee cheapeas!

  • As someone who is committed to healthy eating but loves a pasta option, I am really happy to have found this brand. I discovered Banza a few years ago and have been buying regularly since. As far as a pasta alternative goes, the texture and flavor is much closer to regular pasta than others I’ve tried in the market. I like the variety of pasta shapes and that they offer a spaghetti which makes it easy to sub in no matter what recipe you have. (Would love to see an orzo option as this is one I feel they’re missing). Room to improve: First, the price is quite high compared to regular pasta or even other pasta substitutes. This would be fine but there is also a lot less pasta per box than you would get with a regular brand as well. Each box makes enough for 1.5 meals for an adult. My second suggestion is that it can be a little tricky to cook. Since it cooks very quickly, you need to either set the water temperature low after bringing to boil or take the pasta out sooner than regular pasta to avoid it becoming overcooked and pasty. Overall, it’s a great product that makeshift healthy eating a bit easier even if the price and portion size is a bit inconvenient.

  • I’ve tried the pasta and frozen pizza. The pizza was okay, though tasted a little off. The pasta I did not like at all. It was the wrong texture and had a bitter flavor.

  • As someone with celiac, I am ALWAYS on the hunt for new gluten free products. I tried the Banza Mac and Cheese...... And unfortunately it just wasn't good. There was a weird taste that is hard to put my finger on, like a bitter aftertaste. I REALLY didn't like it, I took a couple bites and threw the rest away.

  • It's a good option for the nutritional values, but I've found for the taste is not one of my favorites. I would rather have one stocked now and then

  • Taste just like normal pasta without the carb-guilt!! My fiancé and I love love love this brand

  • A good gluten alternative. The noodles tend to get sticky, recommend eating very shortly after cooking to prevent this. I was very careful not to overlook as I found they got mushy quickly.

  • Really great pasta! Doesn't get mushy, tastes good. Love the bold packaging, makes it easy to find in a store shelf. I don't feel like I'm missing out on taste when I eat Banza.
