Reviews mention

  • Protein-rich pasta alternative
  • Surprisingly authentic texture
  • Flavorful frozen pizzas
  • Kid-approved crowdpleasers
  • Inconsistent noodle integrity
  • Sticky, mushy overcooking risk
  • Noticeable chickpea aftertaste
  • Clumpy long-cut spaghetti

Banza earns strong reviews as a high‑protein, gluten‑free swap that often tastes and chews close to traditional pasta and even delivers standout frozen pizzas, while many note it can overcook quickly, turn mushy or sticky, and some cuts feel fragile. Reviews of Banza praise the satisfying, protein‑dense pasta, kid‑friendly appeal, and tasty mac & cheese (notably White Cheddar), but flag inconsistent texture across shapes, occasional bitter/chickpea aftertaste, and spaghetti/linguine that clump or stay too firm.

  • Tried this product a while ago as a smarter/healthier option for pasta. It tasted good, expect it didn’t hold its shape as well as typical pasta.

  • good pasta once you figure out just how long to cook the noodles! They tend to get extra mushy when overcooked but we love and it's a staple in our household now~

  • I love Banza! It tastes just like regular pasta and it’s so much better for you! It’s a delicious alternative. I really prefer them now to Kraft.

  • Taste like normal pasta and you get extra protein so good especially for little ones

  • We do not like this stuff. We have bought for a little over a year. Everytime, we waste money. It turns to mush. Then when it is cooked great, it doesn't taste good. We stopped buying.

  • I love Banza pasta! I have a difficult time including protein in my active and busy lifestyle. Banza pasta sneaks in extra protein and I can't even tell if there's a taste difference between Banza an traditional pasta. so yummy!

  • I love Banza pasta for their protein and fiber content. They’re a great gluten-free option and the price point is reasonable in comparison to other boxed pasta products. The texture does become somewhat “gluey” fairly quickly after serving. This makes it work well with thicker, creamier sauces - think vodka sauce and alfredo. I wouldn’t use this product with a lighter sauce. Pro-tip: boil in chicken broth for added protein.

  • I enjoy the packaging of this brand and love that they exist as someone with a gluten intolerance they have a strong variety in gluten free pastas!

  • I like these for a pasta alternative, but the texture can be a little "ehh" but I really like the new waffles they came out with!

  • Pretty close to pasta texture and doesn’t fall apart like other brands

  • I really like the pasta! It is easy to cook and very tasty.

  • There was so much hype about them, that I think I went in with high expectations. Tried the penne noodles about x 6 times now but likely won't repurchase. Average taste for what I expect for a GF product. Always find them to be at their best when you first prepare them...but not very good as leftovers.

  • Huge fan of Banza. I think they’ve updated their recipe because my biggest complaint used to be the texture (too firm) but now the pasta cooks well and you get a realistic pasta-like texture. I’ve only tried the penne shape so can’t comment on other shapes but the noodles are fragile and do break easier than normal pasta, and for that I have 4 instead of 5 stars. You have to add sauce to this, it doesn’t taste great on its own like normal pasta does, but it does taste way better if you salt the water while cooking. The price point is great, around $4-5/box for 2-3 servings.

  • Banza is such a great alternative to typical pasta. It has all the enjoyment and deliciousness of pasta with some added piece of mind that it is packed with protein and a bit healthier. Excited to try the full range!

  • Branding and appeal in the store is amazing but the product is a little too dense for me compared to other GF brands on the market.

  • This has made dieting so much better. I LOVE pasta, but felt like I could only have like 5 noodles to stay within my calorie range. They do taste strange if you're eating it with no sauce, but I sneak them into dinners and meals for my family and no one can tell the difference. I have tried several different pasta alternatives and this is my favorite. Definitely worth the extra money, and there are several kinds to pick from too.

  • I tried the pizza crust and pasta, and the texture and taste is one of the best in the grain free market. I was able to make a protein loaded pizza quickly with the crust. And the noodles were very tender and packed with protein.

  • The texture takes some getting used to at first, but it cooks easily and it is tweakable. Our favorite thing to make is a flavorful, protein packed gf, df, mac n cheeze. Banza is something we keep stocked in our pantry.

  • My two yr old can’t really tell the difference so this is a win in my book! It tastes pretty good for me too. Costco pack is also great value.

  • I’m in the minority I’m sure but I just couldn’t love these. They’re great if you don’t mind eating something that I wouldn’t categorize as pasta. If I need more protein I will just eat more protein. As a carb replacement, I didn’t love it.
