Reviews mention

  • Protein-rich pasta alternative
  • Surprisingly authentic texture
  • Flavorful frozen pizzas
  • Kid-approved crowdpleasers
  • Inconsistent noodle integrity
  • Sticky, mushy overcooking risk
  • Noticeable chickpea aftertaste
  • Clumpy long-cut spaghetti

Banza earns strong reviews as a high‑protein, gluten‑free swap that often tastes and chews close to traditional pasta and even delivers standout frozen pizzas, while many note it can overcook quickly, turn mushy or sticky, and some cuts feel fragile. Reviews of Banza praise the satisfying, protein‑dense pasta, kid‑friendly appeal, and tasty mac & cheese (notably White Cheddar), but flag inconsistent texture across shapes, occasional bitter/chickpea aftertaste, and spaghetti/linguine that clump or stay too firm.

  • Great option for gluten free / celiac folks!

  • Overall a really great product for gluten substitutes.

  • This is a great alternative to regular pasta. The protein in this is significant so if you are on a diet and restricting carbs this is what you want. I will say it is a little rubbery and you can taste a difference , but that is really just a slight loss to being able to consume less carbs.

  • Great packaging, easy to use, and great taste. I do wish more options were available at costco and the price is a bit steep.

  • favoirte pasta! Only one i keep in the house, we had tonight!

  • Although I try many different alternative foods which have increased amounts of protein, I did not enjoy Banza's protein pasta. Compared to Barilla's product, I find Banza's taste strange and it overpriced. The taste is off-putting (not compared to a normal pasta, but another protein pasta) and it rarely goes on sale in my local grocers.

  • Love the concept and macros, but has a weird taste! If you’re looking for protein pasta, Barilla has a better tasting one (their lentils one)

  • Love this alternative to pasta!! It has a unique taste, not exactly normal pasta but slightly different. It doesnt taste like whole wheat either. It is its own unique flavor. So great though!

  • I have been buying Banza for a few years now, I appreciate that it is more healthy alternative to traditional pasta products though I wish they had more plant-based options when it comes to non-pasta products, including pizzas, waffles, and mac n' cheese.

  • High protein and delicious. Taste is different but you shouldn’t be surprised by it…it’s chickpea pasta, ya know?

  • Have yet to try other products but their frozen chickpea pizza is excellent. Can’t even tell it’s not “normal” pizza. Definitely a healthier taste and very pricy but taste wise - awesome choice

  • It was my halloween plan to dress up as this brand- that's how much I love them. They've done such a great job at not only taste but the marketing of their product. Love how genderless they are... and also how it feels like it's for all ages? I recently tried noodles and although it was also great (not GF tho), I couldn't help but notice how infantile their packaging felt. Overall, love this brand!!

  • So good!! Honestly with salted water and sauce you cannot tell the difference between this and real pasta. Leaves you feeling light and healthy - not bloated or bogged down at all.

  • Love Banza, it got me through my gestational diabetes. And I still love it. Just recommend cooking much less that the listed time.

  • I found this particular pasta so much more filling than normal pasta because of the added fiber and protein that the chickpea pasta gives the dish. It works as an easy substitute to normal pasta to hit my macros!

  • Definitely a decent substitute for pasta if you are GF! Can make me gassy sometimes

  • Such a great concept and yummy too. Great product for anyone who is gluten free or just looking for a healthier alternative. Can be a little grainy if you are used to regular pasta all the time.

  • My household has converted entirely to banza eaters. There isn't a pasta we make without Banza. For readers - I think this could be you too. My tip would be not to overcook banza - if you do, it will taste more like chickpeas than pasta should.

  • I have been gluten free since I was 9 and this is a great high protien pasta that does the job. It itches the pasta need when being gluten free and is also grain free and high in protein. Also cooks well and quickly and doesn't give the sticky gluten free feeling a lot of GF pasta has

  • When I first ate Banza's Chickpea based pizza, I was in shock. How can a Chickpea based pizza taste so good?! There is a balance in the softness and crunch of the pizza base. I have never bought any other company's pizza after I tried Banza.
