Reviews mention

  • High-protein, fiber-rich pasta
  • Convincingly pasta-like texture
  • Gluten-free, celiac-friendly options
  • Consistently tasty frozen pizzas
  • Prone-to-mushy overcooking noodles
  • Slight beany or bitter aftertaste
  • Fragile shapes, breakage issues
  • Sticky, grainy long-cut texture

Banza earns strong reviews for delivering chickpea-based pasta, pizza, and mac & cheese that often taste close to traditional versions while adding substantial protein and fiber. Reviews praise the consistently tasty pasta (rotini, cavatappi, shells), kid-approval, and standout frozen pizzas, but note weaknesses: noodles can overcook into mush, stick, or break; some shapes feel dense or grainy with a bitter/bean aftertaste; spaghetti/long cuts underperform; and texture declines as leftovers. Ideal for gluten-free or higher-protein swaps, provided cooking is precise.

  • Great flavor and love the ingredients, however, the pasta was kind of a weird texture. My toddler was not a fan and neither was I.

  • Love this pasta. Great consistency

  • I’m not sure if I cooked them right. The taste wasn’t bad but not good. The texture threw me off.

  • I love the extra protein content of this pasta compared to just regular pasta. It is a unique take on pasta since I never knew of chickpea pasta before I saw this brand. I go to the gym so the extra protein is amazing!!! It also tastes pretty much like pasta, there isn't much flavor and the pasta sauce you use gives it the most flavor. I think the texture is a bit off though, it is not like regular pastas texture and can also get a bit mushy so that's why I wouldn't give it 100% an amazing review. The texture is the only thing I dislike a bit about the pasta but everything else is great!

  • This is a great pasta alternative if you’re looking for something that’s higher in fiber and protein than traditional pasta. Although I’m not gluten free it’s nice that I can make if for family members that are without having to compromise too much. The taste and texture is definitely different than real pasta, but I find that once it’s mixed with a good sauce the ‘chickepea’ taste disappears. The pieces do tend to break and fall apart if overcooked

  • Love the high protein, taste, and texture! My only complaint is the pasta water boils over like crazy, it’s hard to get used to.

  • These have a very strong flavor, it's very overwhelming and I found then hard to enjoy. I used them with Marinara Sauce and Parmessan cheese. Not a fave of mine.

    None.
  • The best gluten free pasta I’ve had! Add in the fact that it’s packed with protein and it’s even better! Easy to make a super healthy pasta meal with this as your base. The Mac and cheese is delicious as well

  • Great taste easy to prepare

  • Good option for people who are gluten free. Holds shape well.

  • Got this at Sprouts about 1 year ago. I liked the flavors. I was much more of a fan of the stand alone pasta than the Mac n cheese.

  • Have been purchasing this healthier pasta and pizza brand for a while. The pizza is great for quick dinners and the pastas taste healthy and amazing.

  • I really love their Banza rice more than their pastas. the rice cooks insanely fast just like pasta and absorbs any sauce really well. It is a great side dish when you are trying to get more protein and limit the starch.

  • Pretty good. Love the idea but the texture doesn't hold up.
