Reviews mention

  • High-protein, fiber-rich pasta
  • Convincingly pasta-like texture
  • Gluten-free, celiac-friendly options
  • Consistently tasty frozen pizzas
  • Prone-to-mushy overcooking noodles
  • Slight beany or bitter aftertaste
  • Fragile shapes, breakage issues
  • Sticky, grainy long-cut texture

Banza earns strong reviews for delivering chickpea-based pasta, pizza, and mac & cheese that often taste close to traditional versions while adding substantial protein and fiber. Reviews praise the consistently tasty pasta (rotini, cavatappi, shells), kid-approval, and standout frozen pizzas, but note weaknesses: noodles can overcook into mush, stick, or break; some shapes feel dense or grainy with a bitter/bean aftertaste; spaghetti/long cuts underperform; and texture declines as leftovers. Ideal for gluten-free or higher-protein swaps, provided cooking is precise.

  • I really wanted to love this! But I cooked a box of the penne and it tasted just not good. This is in addition to (presumably because it’s chickpea-based) the fact that it foams when it cooks adding a slightly odd vibe to cooking the pasta. Haven’t had the same issues with brown rice based noodles.

  • I feel like this only satisfies my pasta craving if I slather it in butter and cheese at which point I might as well just have pasta. the texture is a bit grainy for me.

  • LOVE Banza, a great way to get in protein if you like to cook pasta. A staple whenever I am trying to eat healthy!

  • I don’t like the texture of this pasta. It’s too chewy and I have found several protein rich alternatives that are much better.

  • Not bad but turns mushy if you cook longer than 8 mins

  • I love this pasta it has protein and perfect for people like me who have celiacs disease and can't digest gluten.

  • I use this every time I make pasta and I can feel such a difference in how it makes my gut feel. I don't get super bloated and I can feel my energy levels increase and not drop compared to regular pasta.

  • This is my absolute favorite! Highly recommend!

  • We have some food allergies in my house including egg and milk so we are always on the lookout for products that don’t contain these ingredients. We were excited to try the Banza chickpea pasta and really wanted to like them….but they were not to our liking. As with most chickpea flour based goods, it has a very distinct taste that’s hard to describe other than being dense, tough and just not very enjoyable overall. Unfortunate as I love the idea!

  • This is something i keep in my pantry for my meal prep its not only healthy but full of protein and i can make so many dishes with it Highly recommend

  • I absolutely love Banza. I've completely switched over to this from regular pasta. It keeps me full and is fewer calories, more protein, and more fiber.

  • I’m a huge fan of Banza products. I lift weights to exercise and Banza helps me meet my protein goals without sacrificing my love for pasta. The texture can be surprising if you’ve never had it before, but if you follow the prep instructions you can hardly tell the difference!

  • I tried one of their first products, (the mac n cheese) and it's hard to explore any other options. Personally, I think it's better than the OG Kraft dinner :)

  • This has became a staple food item in our household. Not only does it satisfy my craving for pasta while I’m trying to improve my diet, but my kids (3 & 1) eat every bite! It’s so quick and I feel good about what’s going into our bodies. The texture is a bit softer than traditional pasta, so boil for a shorter amount of time if you want a firmer texture.

  • I love this brand. It's so hard to find gluten-free alternatives anymore that don't taste disgusting, or are gummy wants boiled. This pasta holds its shape and takes on the flavor of any sauce added very well.

  • I love the noodles! Easy to cook and the rotini is perfect.

  • Banza is a great way to make an indulgent meal a little more nutritious. I find it best to really avoid overcooking the pasta (aim for a little al dente). The overcooking causes it to get gummy. The pizza crust is great!
