Reviews mention

  • Protein-rich pasta alternative
  • Surprisingly authentic texture
  • Flavorful frozen pizzas
  • Kid-approved crowdpleasers
  • Inconsistent noodle integrity
  • Sticky, mushy overcooking risk
  • Noticeable chickpea aftertaste
  • Clumpy long-cut spaghetti

Banza earns strong reviews as a high‑protein, gluten‑free swap that often tastes and chews close to traditional pasta and even delivers standout frozen pizzas, while many note it can overcook quickly, turn mushy or sticky, and some cuts feel fragile. Reviews of Banza praise the satisfying, protein‑dense pasta, kid‑friendly appeal, and tasty mac & cheese (notably White Cheddar), but flag inconsistent texture across shapes, occasional bitter/chickpea aftertaste, and spaghetti/linguine that clump or stay too firm.

  • I'm picky about my pasta, and this is the only gluten free one that I like. The texture of other gf pastas tend to be mealy or gummy, but Banza tastes like traditional pasta. It's a great alternative!

  • I have tried many of the Banza line and I love that it is healthier!

  • I was sooo excited to get Banza as a healthier alternative, but this kind of tasted like cardboard! :(

  • The best alternative to regular pasta I've found. Tastes great, and if cooked correctly, the texture is good

  • I eat gluten-free because of an allergy. So far these have always been a delicious option, and full of flavor and nutrition. However, I have heard that they sometimes experience cross contamination. I don't know how true that is, but if you are severely allergic, I would be careful.

  • Liked it but it’s TOXIC!! Liked it but thankfully I cooked it about 2 minutes under the recommended time- I think if it had gone the full time it would’ve been soggy. It had nice texture (but obviously not like real pasta) and it was pretty tasting even with just butter & Parmesan. I am taking off a couple stars however because I’ve since read from multiple sources that Banza pastas contain egregiously high levels of glyphosate and that is completely inexcusable to me as a consumer. I will not buy it again until this problem has been resolved and independent testing confirms it.

  • If u like chickpea taste then you’ll like it. I couldn’t get over the taste it impacted the overall meal

  • I was hoping I'd love it. I've went a few time as a go to when I needed a healthier alternative for pasta. Tge texture is to firm for my liking

  • Yummy noodles, great texture, and I love that I’m getting the extra protein

  • Great way to add additional protein to carb heavy meals. Taste great and good texture. No different than ordinary pasta.

  • I’m a recent GFer and was looking for pasta brands that could suit my needs. Obviously, the first one I tried was Banza. Great idea, but not my favorite since it seems like the flavor of the chickpeas tends to overpower the pasta dish. The consistency is a little grainier than your typical pasta as well. I wouldn’t ever decline a bowl of Banza (it gets the job done), but there are certainly other brands that I would prefer more.

  • The pastas are great, easy to cook and the pizzas are good but could use some work on flavor. Love Banza so much I even tried their waffles which uh are not great.

  • Was gummy. Was awful on recooking it fell apart

  • Great pasta! Love the different shapes.

  • My favorite bean pasta! Can’t beat the texture and taste.

  • I first learned about this brand when I was in my high-protein era (trying products that were high protein that I wouldn't have normally thought were). The concept is great, but the flavor is too noticeably not of a traditional noodle and the texture is slightly thicker, regardless of how long or short I cooked it.

  • Delicious gluten free pasta, which can be hard to come by. This is good both hot or cold.

  • I have been a vegetarian for a very long time now (10+) years. I am also a weight lifter and it is important for me to have a high protein diet. Not only is this a great source or protien, but it is also an amazing swap for traditional pasta that contains a lot of carbs. Flavor is very similar to traditional pasta, texture is a bit more grainy. Make sure to cook this past for only half the time of normal pasta as it cooks way faster!
