Reviews mention

  • Protein-rich pasta alternative
  • Surprisingly authentic texture
  • Flavorful frozen pizzas
  • Kid-approved crowdpleasers
  • Inconsistent noodle integrity
  • Sticky, mushy overcooking risk
  • Noticeable chickpea aftertaste
  • Clumpy long-cut spaghetti

Banza earns strong reviews as a high‑protein, gluten‑free swap that often tastes and chews close to traditional pasta and even delivers standout frozen pizzas, while many note it can overcook quickly, turn mushy or sticky, and some cuts feel fragile. Reviews of Banza praise the satisfying, protein‑dense pasta, kid‑friendly appeal, and tasty mac & cheese (notably White Cheddar), but flag inconsistent texture across shapes, occasional bitter/chickpea aftertaste, and spaghetti/linguine that clump or stay too firm.

  • I low how these taste, as long as you cook them for the suggested time! the texture is a little bit different from pasta but still tasty

  • I like the high protein and fiber in this pasta. The texture is a bit chewy.

  • it’s ok but if you can and do eat gluten it’s not as good in my opinion taste wise. Good alternate if you are very health conscious or gluten free.

  • Overall good product, but cooking time is key. Can turn to mush quickly if not prepared correctly. Good taste and a lot of protein for meals.

  • I tried the plant based Mac n cheese and it tastes good! I added my own twist to it by adding some spices and different things to help add a better taste, but if you are looking for a plant based replacement this is great!

  • Not bad it was my first time trying banza. I'm not a big fan of chickpeas but the taste was very doable. I made this is Alfredo sauce and I love how the taste was very subtle.

  • I love Banza! They have so much protein and a great texture for chickpea-based pasta. They never break apart and pair well with all pasta sauces/flavors!

  • I wasn't sure if I even like chickpeas and I know my husband doesn't like many veggies or changes from his regular brands. BUT we both were surprised to acutally like the pasta. Enough so that if I had a coupon I buy it again.

  • I absolutely love banza. My favorite is the chickpea rotini. I love that it has such high protein content making it easier to reach my fitness goals 🥰

  • Great flavor and consistency! I would only use for day of use, it does not refrigerate well for leftovers. But for a first meal, this is a perfect swap!

  • I have Hashimotos and I love pasta, so I'm constantly looking for gluten-free pasta alternatives that actually tastes good. I've tried a few of banza's pasta shapes. Their spaghetti breaks really easily from my experience, but the penne and shell shapes are much better at keeping their shape/form. Taste wise ... it's a hard no from me. You can taste the chickpea. It's not a subtle flavor. The only way I could eat it was with pesto sauce because it helped to disguise the flavor. Otherwise, I could not stand the taste. Also, this pasta gave my boyfriend stomach aches/gas pain and he doesn't even have IBS or any food sensitivities! I know a lot of people love Banza. I don't know why. Jovial is a much better gluten free alternative. I would only recommend this to people who tolerate chickpeas well and want a gluten free pasta with a decent amount of protein. Otherwise, there are MUCH tastier options out there!

  • As an allergy queen, this banda pasta has been such a life saver! Having so much protein is a definite bonus. Texture is different to regular pasta but it is so yummy and the taste is great.

  • Super easy and yummy way to eat your pasta AND have protien too! We love Banza in our household and its a game changer for my picky kids!

  • Love this product! Having moved to more of a plant based diet i was looking for some high protein alternatives and this is perfect! Plus I never used to like Mac and cheese but love the one from Banza!

  • This pasta tastes exactly like the real thing. I love that it’s a healthier option and there are a variety of pastas to choose from. One callout: don’t overcook your pasta! It tends to get mushy if you do.

  • Banza pasta is my go-to plant based pasta to eat! It doesn't have any weird tastes, keeps me full, and has so many fun shapes to choose from just like a regular pasta brand would.

  • I love that you can get some extra protein in a pasta product. I would recommend a slightly shorter cook time, otherwise the pasta gets sticky and mushy. I felt the pasta held up better when eaten right away instead of the next day in a meal prep situation to maintain the texture. Taste is similar to regular pasta.

  • I’ve had a hard time finding gluten free pasta I actually like but this brand has been a hit at my house! We also love their pizza. The texture is good and love the flavor as well.

  • While it is a higher protein pasta, you can definitely taste the difference from a "regular pasta". Overall, I wouldn't say that I would eat it again given the choice. Another thing I might add is that it does fall apart easily and could get mushy.

  • I find these pastas to have additives that I don’t particularly enjoy. Not as healthy as one would believe.
