Reviews mention

  • Protein-rich pasta alternative
  • Surprisingly authentic texture
  • Flavorful frozen pizzas
  • Kid-approved crowdpleasers
  • Inconsistent noodle integrity
  • Sticky, mushy overcooking risk
  • Noticeable chickpea aftertaste
  • Clumpy long-cut spaghetti

Banza earns strong reviews as a high‑protein, gluten‑free swap that often tastes and chews close to traditional pasta and even delivers standout frozen pizzas, while many note it can overcook quickly, turn mushy or sticky, and some cuts feel fragile. Reviews of Banza praise the satisfying, protein‑dense pasta, kid‑friendly appeal, and tasty mac & cheese (notably White Cheddar), but flag inconsistent texture across shapes, occasional bitter/chickpea aftertaste, and spaghetti/linguine that clump or stay too firm.

  • Banza is a terrific product for those avoiding gluten. I have tried most of the varieties and find them to have similar tastes. They hold the sauce well and have good texture. Fair warning though you need to actively cook these otherwise they become slimy.

  • my absolute favorite protein pasta! i am a big pasta girl and sometimes gluten free/protein options can have an odd texture but not banza - i can’t even tell the difference! i feel satiated, not bloated, and happy i am putting good ingredients into my body!

  • Amazinggg! I love chickpea pastas and this is the best one compared to every other one in the market, I can’t even count the times I’ve rebought this item. I’ve bought a lot of chickpea pastas but there’s no competition. It’s worth it

  • Banza Chickpea pasta has loads of muscle-building pasta, and is the very best gluten free pasta I've used. I recommend this to family and friends!

  • I was vegan for a while a couple years ago and came across this pasta I’m no longer vegan but I love eating healthy this pasta is a great alternative for regular pasta and it tastes amazing

  • My brain doesn’t know this isn’t flour pasta. I love the alternative brand. I love the fun new shapes and products. I feel a little healthier having banza over regular pasta. It’s delicious and gluten free.

  • Used to love this and convince myself that it was healthy—but the gums mess with my gut and it tastes a bit like cardboard. Reach for it sometimes, but it won’t be a staple in my pantry yet. Still a great alternative, but there’s better and healthier options out there.

  • Love the protein pasta, it is a little chewy and the taste is overpowering unless paired with the right sauce.

  • Love this brand that helps me to get in more protein! An easy pasta option that is nutrient dense and makes hitting my protein goals a breeze!

  • Hearty, healthy choice when I'm going for a quick pasta dinner. Our house is gluten-free, so this is one of a few GF brands we rotate between. It tastes distinctly different from what you would expect for pasta (earthier, nutty), so I only use it for certain pasta dishes that complement that flavor profile. I also know to expect it to be a little grittier. Really good, but not a 1-to-1 substitute if you're craving a classic pasta experience.

  • High quality, affordable and wise eating all in one brand. Love the innovative variety offered Once a switch to Banza & you are sold

  • Overall if you’re looking for a gluten free protein pasta Banza is great. It’s a relatively easy substitution. However it doesn’t taste like regular pasta it’s not perfect but gets the job done if you want to reach your protein goals. However, I hear that they use a lot of pesticides which is why I haven’t purchased any new boxes. If they changed this I’d bump my rating to a 4/5. They have a good array of products, I’m a Mac n cheese fiend so I’d say their boxed Mac is pretty solid. I tried their frozen protein waffles recently and it was pretty dry. I tried their frozen pizza a while ago but I think I might have overcooked it so I’d give that another try.

  • This pasta is great for gluten-free households. I personally don't like the taste of the pasta alone. My advice would be too put itwith your favorite sauce.

  • Love that these are gluten free but don’t taste gluten free if you know what I mean. So handy to have around the house for a quick midweek dinner that I can feel good about

  • I've tried almost every gluten-free pasta brand available and this one is just not it. The brand packaging is great which is why I give it a two ( I appreciate good looking brands). Unfortunately, the quality of the actual product does not measure up. The pasta turns into mush as its cooked, and if it hasn't by the time you've plated it, the second you put a fork to it, it will fall apart into hundreds of little pieces. Don't waste your money.

  • Yum yum yum. Deliciously tasting and good for you pasta is hard to find but this brand has nailed it! Can not truly tell the distance of your ingredients are fresh real and robust

  • Great product. And even better customer service. I had an issue with the mac & cheese noodles falling apart suddenly and they sent me a whole new case.

  • So happy to find a brand that not only creates healthy products but tastes equally as good. This is my new go to for dinner!
