Reviews mention

  • Protein-rich pasta alternative
  • Surprisingly authentic texture
  • Flavorful frozen pizzas
  • Kid-approved crowdpleasers
  • Inconsistent noodle integrity
  • Sticky, mushy overcooking risk
  • Noticeable chickpea aftertaste
  • Clumpy long-cut spaghetti

Banza earns strong reviews as a high‑protein, gluten‑free swap that often tastes and chews close to traditional pasta and even delivers standout frozen pizzas, while many note it can overcook quickly, turn mushy or sticky, and some cuts feel fragile. Reviews of Banza praise the satisfying, protein‑dense pasta, kid‑friendly appeal, and tasty mac & cheese (notably White Cheddar), but flag inconsistent texture across shapes, occasional bitter/chickpea aftertaste, and spaghetti/linguine that clump or stay too firm.

  • Banza pasta is the best! I love the new protein mac & cheese options, especially the white cheddar. The chickpea pasta tastes just like regular pasta as long as you follow the directions to cook it and it is so much healthier for you!

  • Does the job to replace pasta with protein but not that tasty and the instructions were misleading for Al dente pasta by 6 minutes.

  • I've yet to be disappointed by a Banza product - yes the noodle can be a bit denser than a conventional wheat noodle, but it's a great way to add a little protein to dinner. I've also added Banza elbows to soups and they held up well!

  • As a GF vegan, I love Banza for its high protein. It’s my go to pasta that meets my dietary requirements.

  • Honestly, I could not really tell the difference between this and regular pasta which is good. I used the cavatappi for chicken noodle soup and mac and cheese and it turned out well.

  • I regularly eat the pasta and love how versatile it is. Especially yummy in cold pasta salads, and warm with sausage and pasta. Best a little al dente so it doesn't get too overcooked and sticky.

  • As being a health enthusiast I like to include healthy food in my diet, and Banza makes the best healthy alternative for pasta

  • Banza pasta is a mixed bag. The texture's a bit gritty, and there's an earthy after-taste. Slap on a bold sauce, though, and it's pretty good. Not my top pick solo, but it plays well with saucy partners. It's a wildcard in my pantry – not for every day, but it has its moments.

  • I tried the Banza rotini pasta. I eat a mostly vegetarian diet, and am also a huge pasta fan, so I’m always looking for alternative pastas that have more natural protein and fiber than the typical pasta. I really liked how these held up, and were great kept simple with butter and Parmesan! I would not say they would replace normal pasta in every recipe, but they tasted great the way I tried them!

  • I have only tried the Banza pasta and I liked it but I would not say I am obsessed. I had some trouble cooking it the first time and the taste is not that great without adding some seasoning or butter. I think I may need to try it a few more times but overall love the packaging and design.

  • While I'm not the biggest fan of the pasta, I think the Banza pizza is amazing!! It's my favorite frozen pizza brand and tastes very fresh. 3.8 stars for the pasta, 5 stars for the pizza!

  • Would not buy again was hoping my 13 year old would like it and he doesn’t.

  • This pasta is a staple in my house! I am a pasta lover and this one makes me feel good about the extra protein I am getting as opposed to normal pasta. This keeps me full way longer too!

  • The only Banza choice near us was the pasta type. It was different than regular pasta but that should be expected. I thought that it was good.

  • Although the idea is good, the chickpea pasta still has a stronger taste and the texture isn’t the best. I bought this with my own money at Costco and we were not really able to finish it.

  • Banza is our pantry’s staple. Their pastas are super quick to make without compromising on taste and since it’s super healthy, anyone in the family can enjoy guilt free. I have tried many lentil and chick pea pasta brands out there but this one is the only one that tastes good. I like the variety they have but would love to see more options in future like lasagna sheets.

  • Great product but some not like the distinct taste of the chickpea pasta. However as someone that is gluten free this is a great alternative!

  • For a healthy alternative this was better tasting than other Mac and cheese alternatives I have tried. Taste and texture was pretty good, probably one of the better tasting healthy alternative.
