  • Protein-rich pasta alternative
  • Surprisingly authentic texture
  • Flavorful frozen pizzas
  • Kid-approved crowdpleasers
  • Inconsistent noodle integrity
  • Sticky, mushy overcooking risk
  • Noticeable chickpea aftertaste
  • Clumpy long-cut spaghetti

Banza earns strong reviews as a high‑protein, gluten‑free swap that often tastes and chews close to traditional pasta and even delivers standout frozen pizzas, while many note it can overcook quickly, turn mushy or sticky, and some cuts feel fragile. Reviews of Banza praise the satisfying, protein‑dense pasta, kid‑friendly appeal, and tasty mac & cheese (notably White Cheddar), but flag inconsistent texture across shapes, occasional bitter/chickpea aftertaste, and spaghetti/linguine that clump or stay too firm.

  • The pasta is really good - you can hardly taste the difference. The pizza is just ok tho.

  • If you need extra protein and have a rebate for these, I’d say they are worth buying. The texture isn’t terrible, and the flavor isn’t too far off normal pasta. But if you’re joe shmo just getting groceries, you can skip this. It’s more starchy than normal pasta and has a little bit of bite to it compared to your run of the mill noodle.

  • This is my favorite pasta, including traditional wheat pastas! It has a great texture and maintains its integrity in pasta salads and once cooled and reheated. The protein and nutrition is also unbeatable. I'm looking forward to trying their pizza and mac and cheese!

  • I have no problem with traditional, wheat/egg based pasta. However, I love mixing in Banza to add a little protein to a quick weekday pasta night meal! Definitely has a different taste/texture from traditional pasta, but as long as you set your expectations that Banza will be *different* (not better or worse) than traditional pasta, you're all set! Delicious alternative.

  • Banza pasta taste SO good. And the best part, it is gluten free!! This is definitely a go too grab on pasta nights.

  • a decent gluten free pasta but i think there could be better ones out there, has a bit of a grainy texture that i don’t love but great buying in bulk at costco

  • Pretty good! I love a sturdy pasta to hold up against a thicker sauce, and this pasta really does the job. Tastes slightly different from regular pasta but not too noticeable and super healthy!

  • Great protein/GF pasta. It has a slightly bitter after taste and the shapes tend to be a little fragile. Even when cooked Al denté they don’t always stay whole. Other than that, great replacement for pasta, and good high protein substitute

  • Love this pasta brand. Get more protein, better for you and don't miss the extra carbs. Good texture. Recommend this.

  • I’m super supportive of these innovative gluten-free pasta brands, but I’m not sure if chickpea pasta is for me. I tried the Banza penne, and it honestly reminds me of wet cardboard in that it gets mushy on the exterior but a little starchy in the middle. The taste isn’t bad at all but the texture just doesn’t do it for me. You can smother it in sauce and try to ignore the unpleasant texture, but I think there are better gluten-free pastas out there. Still, I like that they’re creating gluten-free options and would be open to trying their other products in the future.

  • Great pasta for anyone who is gluten-free. Fun packaging and products.

  • This pasta is incredible - this brand really blew it out of the water here. The one thing I'd say is the cook times are inaccurate - you can easily overcook this and it becomes slimy and gummy and tastes poor. However, if you cook to al dente, this pasta not only tastes good but actually tastes better than barilla at times.

  • I used to buy these quite often for a higher protein option. At the time, I was happy to use them and didn't mind the taste or texture. But then I found Barilla Protein pasta and I switched permanently. The taste and texture of the Barilla Protein pasta surpasses Banza, but I can appreciate that Banza is also a lot better than several other protein pastas on the market. Overall, it's a fine option but not the best when it comes to texture.

  • High-protein, very good texture and cute orange packaging. It's also decently affordable, so if you're in need of a high-protein lifestyle or a more fibrous pasta, this is a really helpful swap.
