Reviews mention

  • Protein-rich pasta alternative
  • Surprisingly authentic texture
  • Flavorful frozen pizzas
  • Kid-approved crowdpleasers
  • Inconsistent noodle integrity
  • Sticky, mushy overcooking risk
  • Noticeable chickpea aftertaste
  • Clumpy long-cut spaghetti

Banza earns strong reviews as a high‑protein, gluten‑free swap that often tastes and chews close to traditional pasta and even delivers standout frozen pizzas, while many note it can overcook quickly, turn mushy or sticky, and some cuts feel fragile. Reviews of Banza praise the satisfying, protein‑dense pasta, kid‑friendly appeal, and tasty mac & cheese (notably White Cheddar), but flag inconsistent texture across shapes, occasional bitter/chickpea aftertaste, and spaghetti/linguine that clump or stay too firm.

  • I have tried the Banza penne pasta and while I really like the high protein content, I have found this one to be a bit more chewy than some other chickpea pastas I have tried before. It was definitely better to serve in a hot pasta dish rather than a cold pasta dish because the chewier texture didn't hold up to a cold pasta salad. It's not my favorite, but I would try this one again.

  • Honestly, good! I get the chickpea pasta and it's yummy. Even my picky plain boyfriend likes it. Feels a bit more crunchy(?) or hard than normal pasta, but it's still good!

  • Banza's products are fantastic! The chickpea-based pasta is a game-changer—delicious, nutritious, and perfect for a healthy diet. It has a great texture and taste, and it’s packed with protein and fiber. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy their favorite dishes guilt-free!

  • The taste is offputting and the texture is not hard to get used to

  • Interesting pasta. But , if legumes makes you gassy(sorry) , take some anti gas pills before eating… It stays firm, doesn’t mush up. No weird aftertaste

  • Great flavor and texture!

  • Banza is a game-changer with chickpea-based pasta, mac & cheese, rice, and pizza. It's delicious, guilt-free, and perfect for anyone looking to add more protein to their diet or cut back on carbs. Highly recommended!

  • Love every banza product we have tried. my daughter eats the waffles every morning. It’s one of two gluten-free pasta brands. We use after trying so many.

  • I LOVE BANZA!!! My favorite gf pasta ever. I love the texture. Cooked perfectly or Al dente, it seriously hits the spot. Even when I cook it for too long and it falls apart, it tastes super good to me. The color of the water after cooking is a little freaky but it’s just something to get over. Love with some pesto or vodka sauce and sausage (beyond or reg)

  • I like the idea, the taste is only OK. I am glad this is an option, I wish it tasted better. Texture is a bit off putting, might be able to cover with a strong sauce. The mac and cheese kits were not good. I would only suggest the pastas.

  • I tried the shells last week and they are the best non-pasta pasta I've had! It had the same feel, shape, and 7/10 on the taste! I don't mind the taste at all but it is not a traditional pasta taste. I love these, and the price, and will be getting many more boxes! The branding alone is enough reason to keep buying.

  • I love chickpea pasta and this brand does not disappoint! That being said do not cook in the instantpot. It falls apart. It needs to be cooked on the stove and monitored. Love the high fiber content. I feel this is more healthy then white pasta.

  • Banza is my go-to for a quick protein rich dinner base. It's especially great having a young child because he loves pasta and I love that I'm giving him a fiber rich meal without having to try too hard. The texture is great and it cooks up consistently.

  • Love these! Tried many of these boxes for a quick lunch or dinner. So yummy.

  • I like that its full of protein and it's made from plant based sources, but I just really can't get behind the taste. I don't like how it sticks together and I have a hard time convincing my kids to eat it. I've tried other plant based pasta alternatives that I really prefer more. I think its an expensive purchase that is a less than stellar product. I really won't buy them anymore.

  • I prefer regular pasta TBH, but this is pretty good with sauce. I've noticed that the water gets a lot frothier than regular pasta when boiling. It sometimes spills over, so you have to keep an eye on the stove.

  • I can only speak to the pasta, but I could not get past the very distinct chickpea flavor and found the texture to be on the gritty side. While this may be a suitable substitute for folks who can't have gluten, I was supremely underwhelmed.

  • Let’s be real, there’s no substitute for wheat pasta. However, this is a really good attempt, the texture is very close, and the heartiness of this pasta will keep you going
