Amika earns largely positive reviews for effective, great-smelling hair care—especially Perk Up dry shampoo, Soulfood Nourishing Mask, and The Kure repair line—suggesting the brand works for many hair types. Reviews also flag real drawbacks: heavy, lingering fragrance, occasional residue or heaviness on fine hair, mixed results across lines, and reports of scalp irritation or hair loss for some, plus durability issues with a hot tool.

the dry shampoo is great! gives my bangs the refresh it needs
I love their Soulfood hair mask! The consistency isn't watery, but doesn't weigh my hair down when I use it. I've noticed less frizz and less breakage. The smell is also amazing and remains in my hair after drying and styling.
One thing I don’t like about some dry shampoos is the texture feeling it leave in my hair and I definitely didn’t get that with Amika. I love the smell of it I am definitely picky about smell and I really love the smell of the amika product. I would recommend this for anyone to try.
The conditioning hair mask is one of the best masks I've used. You can feel your hair getting meaningfully softer as you comb it through with your hands. I tend to need to slather hair masks bc they get runny quickly, so I got the huge size. But this one is more robust and pretty thick -- a little goes a long way so will take a while got me to go through.. Good value.
Worked great, hair still felt light, the smell is nice. Great dry shampoo.

I use their curl cream - smells great, keeps my hair from frizzing (mostly), doesn't do a huge amount to encourage curls though
The dry shampoo was good, and effective but would say it is not worth the price tag
Amika is a crowd pleaser! It’s one of my favorites to carry in the salon and their products really work well. I must say I will never forgive them for discontinuing the texture paste, but to have loved and lost, is better than end to never have loved at all! I stand by their quality, and if you are not able to afford luxury products, Amika is my favorite alternative!
I have only tried the amika un.done volume & matte texture spray so far, and it is incredible! I love the scent and it works wonders for my flat thin hair! It gives it just enough texture and oomph for a great hair day! I’m looking forward to trying more of their products because I love that they use 100% recyclable bottles, focus and sustainability, and they even donate at least 1% of their profits to causes that focus on equity within the industry.
I seriously LOVE Amika and their product lines. The cut the brass or their high shine gloss hair masks are my go to’s. I highly recommend to anyone that wants to vamp up their hair! Literally worth every single penny !

I will say the price of Amika is steep but I was lucky enough to find a large volume bottles at TJ Max ( shampoo 3D and conditioner The Kure). I use them in combination and after the first use my naturally coarse and wavy hair seemed smoother, felt softer, and had a controllable amount of body. I am not sure if this duo will work for all hair types but it was so great that I'd consider buying again.
Pretty good products. Typically have one always in my shower 4/5 for silkiness.
I have been on the Amika train for so long. Obsessed with their soul food mask and their perk up spray. I have struggled with dry curls for so long and this is the best deep conditioning products that also smell great
I received the dry shampoo in a subscription box and it was perfect for small trips and a quick post-workout spray. It did a wonderful job as a pick-me-up when I had no time to wash my hair.
I have been using the smoothing shampoo and conditioner along with the purple shampoo and detangling spray. All of the products smell so good and my hair has been loving them!
ive tried their orange packaging shampoo/conditioner and i’m not very impressed but definitely don’t dislike it. it’s pretty neutral to me as it did what it needed to do and didn’t weight down my hair. it also smelled pretty nicely too and i hope to try some of their other haircare lines. i’ve tried their hair mask as well and that was super easy to use, smelled great, and did the job.
I love the kure hair mask and anti-humidity spray. I have quite heavy thick hair and the mask works well to make a difference in the texture. The scents are consistent great as well.
I’ve only tried The Kure hair mask, but it is incredible. I have thick, somewhat damaged wavy hair, and this mask is so thick and buttery. It makes my hair feel like silk afterwards. I’ve tried so many hair masks over the years, and none of them have come close to how this makes my hair feel. Obsessed!
I have the Kure bind repair shampoo and conditioner. It smells good and actually gives my hair good volume. I already have thick hair but this gives it a little oomph. I do blow dry it to help with this affect as well.
My favorite part of Amika products is the smell. They all are like hair perfume. I have used the dry shampoo and the anti humidity spray both which I love.
