UrbanStems has faced criticism for poor customer service and product quality, however, they are seen as a good last-minute gift option. Customers complain about receiving dead or not blossoming flowers, missing parts of orders, poor customer service, or non-refunded failed deliveries. Flowers often do not match the photos on the website. Some customers have appreciated their services as a last-minute gift option.

I have used UrbanStems for about 4 years - purchasing as gifts for others or for myself - and always had different experiences with them. PROS The deliveries arrived on time (or even earlier), the arrangements are in good condition, no damages, no spoilage, etc. When sending as gifts, the recipient would always text me right away and compliment on how beautiful the arrangements are. CONS When I did run into some issues, it mainly had to do with the condition of the flowers. Here are two experiences that I remember: (1) The arrangement had some buds/flowers in awful condition (I remember one of them was moldy!); and (2) The arrangement arrived in decent condition, but after prepping it and putting it in water, it wouldn't look so fresh the following day. I do contact customer service, and their reps are so responsive to my concerns. They would either offer credit or a replacement; if I asked for replacements which I then received almost 1-2 days later with no issue. RECENT EXPERIENCE I noticed something different from my most recent purchase in July VS one of my orders from July 2023: they're using a different shipping courier! In the past they've always used FedEx, but now they ship with OnTrac. Normally I am okay with OnTrac, but they usually deliver towards the end of the business day in my area (around 4pm-5pm). This was much later than I was used to (FedEx delivery would always be around 12pm-2pm), so I was a bit concerned and worried about the condition of the arrangement by the time it is delivered especially since it was during the summer heatwave. Fortunately, the arrangement arrived in great condition without any issues (I think that damp foamy-sponge wrapped around the base of the stems definitely helped!). But I am definitely going to keep a close eye when I purchase again in the future! PERSONAL TIP Try to place your order (or schedule the shipping/delivery) at least 1-3 business days before you need it. For example, if you need it on the 5th, check to see if you can schedule the delivery between the 1st and 3rd in case you need additional time to contact customer service if you come across any issues. But honestly the earlier the better... it's less stressful that way LOL Of course, don't forget to take into consideration the popular holidays (Mother's Day and Christmas are the two big ones!) and weekends, but that is the general timeline I follow when ordering flowers online! P.S. If you like to have your flowers delivered exactly on someone's special day, I recommend supporting your local florist as they may offer local delivery!

Scammers. This company is making charges to people all around the world who have never even heard of the company, myself included. The company is illegally buying card details and trying to charge all of them. If you notice a charge on your statement, contact your bank immediately.

Picture of what was delivered and what was ordered. Extremely poor quality. Very difficult customer service, they do not listen and they respond by reading from a script.

I ordered flowers for my 1 year anniversary from UrbanStems. Unfortunately, a few days before the scheduled delivery date, they emailed me to say that there was a problem with this crop of flowers and they were "not up to their standards". They changed the order to a different one and sent me those flowers instead, without offering me option of a refund or my choice of alternate flowers. The flowers that did arrive were peonies that had not blossomed yet. Their instructions say to give the peonies 2 days to blossom, so when they did not blossom after a couple of days (picture included) I wrote to UrbanStems. Unfortunately, as this was after the deadline for their 72 hour policy, the best they could offer me was 10% off my next order with them. So I paid $100 dollars for flowers that did not arrive, only to be shipped flowers I did not order without my consent (granted they did refund me $4 for the price difference between the flowers), and unfortunately those flowers were clearly flawed. Stay away from this florist for any special occasion you may have.
As a DC resident, UrbanStems is my go-to for sending flowers, especially with their dried flower selection - though the price on those is higher, they literally last forever! Quality feels a bit higher than other online florists, but that may be because I'm local.

For a funeral, we ordered a really large, expensive bouquet and found it to be pretty underwhelming compared to the smaller bouquets I've bought over the years.

Unfortunately after 6 deliveries (flowers being delivered to me) that were less than acceptable the last failed delivery WILL be the last. Flowers arriving dead, not arriving, missing parts of orders, shattered vases, lost flowers, late deliveries… it is just too much. I can’t recommend using Urban Stems. The continued offer from Urban Stems to fix the problems is store credit-that’s not acceptable when special occasions continue to be marred by these mishaps. I’ve requested from my loved ones that like to send flowers to please save their hard earn money. I recommend using local florist.

They delivered on time. That is the positive. The flowers I ordered weren't available which is acceptable and they notified me of a Substitution. But the picture of what the recipient received was a far cry from the arrangement that was ordered and the substitution was supposed to be of greater value. My suggestion buy from a Local Florist in the area.

The sent a box, with the flowers inside, not in water, for you to assemble, without a vase for $150. They show you pictures of bouquets, not what she got. Instead of saying I love you, it says I am cheap, and could care less. The only people happy, are these internet crooks making money. Instead of getting back with my girlfriend, these crooks insulted them. Another group of cynical scammers. I was left on the line, waiting a half hour to complain. They made something joyful, into something cynical, at the expense of my relationship.

The flowers I ordered were droopy and depressing! That being said, customer service was kind enough to refund me for my order after I emailed the support team with pictures.

Flowers could have been alive upon delivery. Flowers also could have been delivered the day I paid for, not the following day.

It’s Mother’s Day tomorrow. My daughter sent me peonies, a vase, and a candle. The candle was the only thing worth keeping. Flowers had mold on most leaves, one flower was totally destroyed in shipping, and when I put a few stems seemingly worth saving in a strange crooked vase, one flower opened and promptly dropped half of its leaves. This is total trash! I am expecting that my daughter will request a total refund.

Product was leftover old flowers.

I tried them because the pictures of the bouquets were so different and beautiful but, worst $140 bouquet I ever got for my wife overpriced, 4 dead flowers, 3 flowers bent and not looking good, and one broken flower

not buying from them ever again

I received 18 stems of pure disappointment. I’m not sure how much my daughter paid for these roses , or what should be roses but she would be highly upset if I had the guts to show her what I opened. They were all wilted and brown most of them not even enough petals to be considered a rose , and no they were not buds ! Happy Mother’s Day to me Urbanstems. You should not be allowed to sell this garbage!

Horrible. Do not order from them EVER. I ordered flowers for Mother’s Day and the bouquet I ordered was $174, but apparently on the day of delivery they ran out of the bouquets I ordered and sent my mother a boutique ON SALE for $99. They didn’t bother to email or call me about this, didn’t warn me, didn’t give me a choice, just decided to give me the cheapest bouquet. The best part is they didn’t even offer to refund the order they just acted like it didn’t happen until I emailed them and they had to check into it further. These are scammers. Do not trust them.

Had the base level subscription for 3 months with the once a month subscription. The first 2 packages were roses just different colors then the 3rd came with old and damaged flowers. Reached out for a replacement, the customer care was great but the next package that came was basically in similar condition with flowers being old and broken.
Feedback
It seems the boxes are too small for the flowers they provide so they get damaged and crushed, box size needs to improve at least for the base subscription, can't speak on higher tier ones. Variety of the 3rd and replacement package were good but getting roses two months in a row was a bit of a bummer.

My poor boyfriend just wasted $75 on the worst bouquet. Even Kroger flowers are nicer. First they come completely unbloomed and dying. 5 stems for $75? Not a deal. So I call customer service and they are actually very nice. You cannot get your money back. Either it’s store credit or they send another bouquet (not the same one purchased). So I got another one in hopes it’ll be fresh. It doesn’t arrive on the expected day, it came a day later. It’s bloomed, but has dying flowers all throughout it. Not worth the time or money. You’d be better buying the discount flowers at Kroger…at least those aren’t dead and will last longer. I would not recommend.
Beautiful arrangement and nice personalized note (from my favorite team Thingtesting ♥️).
My boyfriend sent some to me for my birthday and they were lovely and fresh! There was a nice little note too.

Lost my business on this last order . My niece’s graduation. Totally disappointed with the count and quality . Years back they were good. Last two times ordering from them has shown me quality and count are of question . Worked for a company such as this so I learned a few things

To begin, I have placed a few ordered with UrbanStems in the past and had pretty good results. The "double" bouquets arrive separately bundled which is slightly annoying but quality was o.k. overall. Unfortunately, the flowers I ordered for my beautiful Wife for Mothers day arrived in extremely poor condition- they appear to have had been left in a hot truck with other heavy items on top of them or something. Almost every flower and leaf was crushed. Also the flowers were not as abundant as pictures on the website. To top it off, the vase recommended on their website was not large enough to accommodate the flowers, even though there were less than there should be. "O.K." I thought, you can't always get it right with this sort of thing. I figured I would reach out to the customer service department to help resolve the issue. Nope. I emailed them the day of the delivery but no response for 2 days. I tried again early the next week and still so response. I called and was directed to what seemed very much to be an overseas call center where the people there act very concerned but can't actually do anything to help- they asked that I email them again with pictures and assured me they would escalate and follow up. Since there had been no response to my previous 2 email attempts I asked her to email me something I could reply to. She did and I replied within 5 minutes. Still no response the following day so I called again. Call center again. This person said they couldn't see my emails and asked me to email again. I did this and she asked me to try again later to follow up with them. I explained that since after they messed up my order, I had made 6 attempts (including this call) to contact them for resolution, to no success. I asked for her instead to have them reach out to me with a resolution (or options) by the following day. Today is that day. Instead of solutions, I received an email to review their Customer service response from my first email to them which I still have not received any response to. I replied and let them know about the situation. I even tried calling them one last time and this time the call center person (or whatever they were) was having trouble hearing me but I had not trouble hearing roosters crow in the back ground I sh--t you not. I give up. It was over $200 but not worth the aggravation giving them any more opportunities to fixt the issue (or even reach back out to me- in ANY way at all). Hope this review may save others the trouble. If you want to order flowers, I recommend you consider finding another solution.

Well the flowers delivered on time, beautiful my first thought, sent by my daughter, 2 days later dropped down and discoloration setting in, so got in touch with the customer service, sent me a second batch (mind you 2 flower arrangements) now 3 days and this shipment the same thing happens, the stems of these flowers are dried up, should have taken pictures of them, didn't have the time, these are not fresh by any means whatsoever, never again! Sadly my daughter must of spent a small fortune on these flowers for mothers day! Bad business far as I'm concerned 😟
