Reviews mention

  • Playful, confidence-boosting branding
  • Clever, mirrored refillable compact
  • Cute, expressive patch designs
  • Gentle, non-irritating hydrocolloid
  • Inconsistent, weak patch adhesion
  • Limited extraction effectiveness
  • Small, one-size star patches
  • Awkward, curling star points

Starface wins praise in reviews for playful branding, a handy refillable compact, and making acne feel celebratory, yet its classic Hydro-Stars often underperform versus competitors at extracting “gunk,” reducing inflammation, or staying put—especially overnight. While some users see quick results (notably with Micro-Cloud or blue salicylic acid stars), many cite weak adhesion, small one-size patches, and limited efficacy on early or cystic blemishes, making the brand better for pick-prevention and daytime cover than potent treatment.

  • Really cute design and packaging but the product didn’t really work for me. I’ll preface by saying I don’t have terrible skin, but I do occasionally get a hormonal painful spot which I thought these would help with. I used one of the patches and although it reduced slightly, it wasn’t anything dramatic and my usual remedy worked better.

  • This brand has the cutest packaging which is what drew me to it. As far as the patches go, they just work okay. I use them more to prevent myself from picking at my skin. I dont know if I notice them doing much to reduce the appearance of acne.

  • I wish that these worked to reduce pimples cause they are so cute, unfortunately beside covering up blemishes they don't seem to do much for actual acne. I have also tried other brands of patches that seem to work much better, but aren't as cute.

  • The star pimple patches are super cute, but are not as effective as Hero Cosmetics’ pimple patches. I would rather spend my money on those so I can wear them to the office and other places other than just at home.

  • Bought the normal-sized case and a few packs of yellow / pride stars! I like wearing these over blemishes to stop myself from picking at them. They are very expensive for what they are, you are paying for looks!

I like the little carrying case and feel good while wearing these - it does incentivize me to take care of my skin and not pick at blemishes. However I don't think these do anything to reduce or heal my pimples. They're mostly to feel good and helped me to build the habit of not picking. I don't regret trying these but also wouldn't repurchase them.

  • These are the cutest patches but not the most effective. They are not super sticky and I have no idea if they actually work. However, they are fun and put me in a better mood when I do wear them.

  • Of the pimple patches, this one was probably my least favorite. I love that they come in fun colors and shapes, but they don't stick very well on my skin and it doesn't feel as if they do much (or anything). The plus side is that they keep me from touching my zits and look cute.

  • Absolutely LOVE the lift off pore strips! Super cute packaging and didn't hurt taking off :)

no improvement needed - great product overall!

  • The patches were cute and the box was very adorable.

They weren’t super effective and it felt wasteful

  • Love these little stars. I wear them on small blemishes and red spots either when I go to sleep or for a few hours during the day and they actually reduce redness and help get all the gunk out of your pores. They also have cute partnerships to make special patches with brands like SpongeBob and Hello Kitty.

  • the branding is super cute and the marketing is genius but the actual patches have zero effect and are just glorified stickers

    Feedback

the efficacy of the actual patch.

  • I normally use other hydrocolloid pimple patches, but these were only cute when I tried them imo. I like the compact pimple case they come in and the quality of the case, but I do not think these patches worked as well as other pimple patches. I can't tell whether or not my pimple was soaked up and these felt more gimmicky more than practical.

Possibly just product functionality, does not feel like it does as good as a job as other brands. Also little hard to take stars off patch, probably include tweezers?

  • Super easy to use and they look super cute on my face. It was very easy to peel off the stickers. They are comfortable and I don't ever feel like I have something sticking to my face. If you're looking for something more fun than the usual skin-toned pimple patches then definitely give Starface a try. I leave mine on overnight and when I wake up they are still stuck to my face. From what I've experienced they do reduce redness/inflammation and they really get the job done when I get a break-out of hormonal acne.

  • First off, these stars are adorable and the packaging is top tier! I used all the patches and felt like they were pretty good at reducing swelling and redness. They also kept me from touching my face. The smiley face case feels really sturdy and has a mirror inside, so I'm definitely keeping that in my purse as a compact!

I think these patches did a little bit to help reduce the redness of my breakouts, but overall I didn't feel like they were the most effective pimple patch.

  • These are so cute! They aren’t very effective as far as pimple treatment. The adhesive isn’t as strong as some other brands so they don’t stay put especially not overnight. The travel case is adorable and the perfect size. Just wish they helped healed my blemishes

    Feedback

Stronger adhesive so they stay on and maybe a stronger active ingredient so they better treat the inflammation on the skin

  • It's cute depending on where your pimple is but it's not the best pimple sticker I've used. It's just ok and can be nice to use almost like an accessory that will cover your pimple.

  • I love the packaging and originally bought for the Starface case. Turns out that was the best part. These are the worst hydrocolloid zit stickers I've used, including cheap off brand ones from TJ Maxx and CVS brand hydrocolloid bandaids for blisters. They're cute, and just don't work.

    Feedback

Actually work. Don't know if the stickers are too thin (much thinner than other hydrocolloid stickers) but they don't do anything.

  • Honestly, the packaging was the reason I bought it. I love that the cute yellow compact has a mirror and can be reused. I found that the patches don’t stick well if your face is a little oily from your moisturizer, so you have to make sure it’s dry before applying. It doesn’t suck out the gunk like other brands do, but it helps shrink the pimple and prevents it from getting more irritated. It’s not the best pimple patch out there, but it’s definitely the cutest and gets the job done.
