Squirrel Reviews

3.9

Squirrel earns mixed reviews: the bedside caddy reliably organizes glasses, remotes, phones, and water within arm’s reach and installs easily, but reviewers fault flimsy-feeling plastic and notably slow or faulty charging components. The brand’s product works for dorms, bunks, and small spaces, yet limited compartments/size and durability concerns temper enthusiasm.

  • I love all of the different compartments and the ability to charge my devices with the USB A and C ports. I really appreciate that it's made of 100% recyclable plastic. My only concern with the product is the plastic felt a little flimsy at the tops of the compartments, so my concern is they might break easily. I did think the initial price was a bit steep but there was a discount on Amazon at the time that made it much more reasonable in the $35 range.

  • This is perfect for a dorm room and I look forward to giving it to my daughter when she starts college in the fall. If you lack room for a nightstand, this creates a built-in nightstand for you. It's easy to put together, easily moveable, and since it plugs to electricity you can even charge your cellphone. Wonderful and versatile item.

  • I live in a tiny studio and for a year I slept on a sleeper sofa but I couldn’t take it anymore, I was never putting the bed up and so I didn’t have a couch and my apartment was always messy and crowded. I just got a loft bed to put over the couch and saw this the day I set it up. I thought, you know what I will need a place to keep my iPad, remote and phone. The first night I just slept with them near my pillow. I loved that it also could allow me to charge. I just got it and everything seemed fine but it wouldn’t charge. After lots of troubleshooting it was the cord. They sent a faulty cord. Not a huge problem since I’ll just use the one I use for my iPad and phone and I honestly didn’t need another cord and would have to buy a block because it doesn’t come with one. However that is annoying, annoying enough to take two stars off. I’m a techie so I found the problem pretty quickly but I think most would just think the tool is broken. They should send good cords for the price you’re paying. Overall I like it but think it is pricey.

  • I highly recommend this bedside caddy from Squirrel! The possibilities are endless for what you can store here. I kept falling asleep with books, electronics and random stuff on the side of my bed, now I’ve placed my most needed smaller items for when I wake up and go to sleep inside of this bin. Each of the 5 compartments are big enough to hold multiple items but they’re still small enough where you’re not tempted to throw anything and everything in there, which helps it to stay organized without any additional effort. So far I’ve put my 32oz water bottle, a book to read, journal to write in, utensils to write with, a portable charger, my phone, AirPods and tweezers. I’ll be placing some chapstick and lotion in there next. If you have medication, glasses or various remote controllers this a great place to put them as well.

What is Squirrel?

Squirrel makes a portable, adjustable, and ergonomic workspace designed to convert any bed into a multi-functional work area.

In their own words

As my wife and I finished helping our daughter unpack her last box of pillows, frames filled with high school memories, and every bit of makeup humanly possible into her freshman dorm room last September, we smiled knowing she had found her place. But her gadgets, water bottle and phone, the most important items to a teen girl, had not. You see, her bed was a loft with no possibility of a bedside table or place to store her “essentials”. Nowhere to charge her phone, store her Stanley, or keep her tablet close at hand. Utilizing my vast experience in manufacturing consumer products for pets and people, and my desire to be my daughter’s hero, we designed and built the Bedside Perch. Constructed from post-consumer plastics, the Bedside Perch incorporates built-in USB ports, kept out of the way of spills and cord tangle free. But perfectly in reach so that my daughter stays connected, and her devices remain charged. Since naturally intelligent squirrels are the ultimate organizers (nuts, not cellphones), Squirrel, The Bedside Perch, was in motion. Now, not only my daughter, but everyone who is searching for a spot to store, charge and tidy up their beside essentials have the perfect place. Whether it be a bed, couch or RV, your gadgets have their place and are within reach. We are excited for you to give our Bedside Perch a try. And keep a lookout for future products as we continue to solve daily challenges. Steve Luhrs, Dad 1st, Founder 2nd
