SmartSweets earns positive reviews for genuinely tasty, low‑sugar takes on nostalgic gummies like Sweet Fish, Peach Rings, Sourmelon Bites, and Red Twists; it satisfies cravings and often avoids “fake” sweetener aftertaste. Reviews also flag real drawbacks: many candies are extremely sticky or tough, flavors can be inconsistent with occasional stevia/allulose aftertaste and GI upset, and portions feel small. Overall, SmartSweets is good if cutting sugar, but texture quirks and formula variability make it a compromise for purists.
AI summary based on Thingtesting reviews
I enjoy smart sweets, but they’re an occasional treat because of the cost. I love candy! But as an adult it turns out that one’s whole calorie allowance cannot be just gummies. So sad. So I’m always willing to give a reduced calorie or alternative sweetened candy a try. Smart sweets does a pretty good job on all fronts. Texture; The texture of the gummies is closet to a “naturally flavored gummy” from any of the national brands. It’s more pillowy and doesn’t quite have the heavy chew that a very traditional American gummy has. Flavor: The fruit flavors could use some amping up (not unusual in American gummies) but they’re easy to distinguish from each other. The sweetness level is a little blunted, probably because lack of natural sugar. But that may be a plus for people who don’t like a super sweet candy. I shared these with friends and some people perceived them as crazy sweet. So my best guess is that this is a tastebud thing. Buy a bag before you buy a case. Unmentionables: There’s another reason for that too: some people do have GI intolerances to the ingredients Smart Sweets. Typically it’s something that a tolerance can be developed for unlike sugar alcohols. Start slowly. Overall: One of the best options on the market if you are avoiding sugar for reasons and don’t want to make your own candy

Nice alternative to a traditional sugary treat. There is a slight after taste. I did test these with my kids who love Swedish fish and he had a hard time spotting the smart sweet version.

I loved the licorish, its a perfect sweet treat but a bit overpriced in my opinion
Very tough to chew and lacking of flavor. I picked my smart sweets up at a convenient store, so maybe they had just been sitting out for a while.
I love gummies! It's good to know there are some healthy versions out there of my favorite guilty pleasure lol I just wish they were a bit more flavorful.
Best candy I have ever tasted. Actually keep you full as well.

I love these candy’s!! I just had some of the peach rings, today! Perfect GF/DF treat!
I have tried a few of these, but have bought the sweet fish ones the most. Currently have them in my pantry. They taste a lot better than actual Swedish Fish and are healthier. What I don’t like about them is that they are super sticky when chomping on them, always get stuck in my teeth. Other than that I like to grab them when I’m craving candy.
I love smart sweets! I just wish you received more in the packaging for the price. But overall they are tasty and a great alternative to candy.
They won't be the exact flavor of childhood but they do the trick if you're looking for a better option. I personally can’t stand the aftertaste/cooling effect of stevia so that killed it for me :( I do appreciate their variety of options and have tried the fish, watermelons, sour buddies, and peach rings.
I’m not a sweets person but these are pretty good for what u get, good price points and great flavors and taste.. lots of variety
I love these! Whenever possible, we try to get these over other candy brands for our kiddos because they're not as bad and they still taste delicious. Highly recommended!

Nooooot for me. They remind me of how depressed I was when I did keto. So chemical-ly and sticky and not fun.
Huge fan as most of these products have amazing test without the high fructose corn syrup, unnecessary additives, and gluten. The packaging is different but the color way is playful. Some of the sour worms had an interesting flavor, but am a huge fan otherwise!

Honestly used to eat these a bunch but not so much anymore. I like their variety of flavors and gummies but they get so stuck in your teeth it’s almost not worth eating them. I’d only buy them if they were on sale and I was really craving candy but didn’t want to buy actual candy.
These are addicting!! The Swedish fish are my absolute favorite and such a great treat without the guilt.
These taste like "real" candy not like the healthy candy they really are,
I loved the brands healthy take on sweets but I was really disappointed with the flavor. Plus it still has a high carb count so I just don’t find it worth it.
I understand who this is for. But the aspartame taste is not ideal for me. It may be better if you have not had the real thing in a long time.

Peach rings and gummy worms are great. Some of the other options are a bit lacklustre, though I know they’re not exactly meant to be compared to the full sugar alternative. Would say it def hits the spot for a few bites while you’re craving another candy!
