quip earns mixed reviews: it looks refined and travels well, but its brushing performance trails true electric rivals. Reviews praise quip’s sleek, lightweight design, mirror-mounted travel cover, timed 30‑second pulses, and hassle-free refill heads (often with batteries). Many criticize weak vibrations that act more as a timer than a cleaner, bristles that feel too stiff or wear quickly, fragile heads and motors, hard-to-remove parts, and occasional mold or gunk buildup—some dentists urge switching to oscillating or higher-powered brushes.

One of my most least liked products ever in the last 10 years. Besides amazing design - nothing else holds up. Not the way it works, the customer service - nothing.

Buy a sonicare that actually cleans your teeth. I went from having cavities, to having ZERO.

Was not worth the cost.

Easy to travel with since it is light weight and doesn't need to charge. Quieter than other Electric tooth brushes. Looks a thousand time better than other toothbrushes.

The design and idea is amazing, but the toothbrush head was a little too soft and I felt as though I almost had to brush twice to get the clean feel I wanted.

The convenience of Quip is very nice. It makes it so I never forget to change out my toothbrush since it gets shipped automatically. Quip's customer service is nice, responsive, and very reasonable. However, the toothbrush itself failed me a lot. The vibrating function is very finicky. I had to replace my whole toothbrush twice and still some months my toothbrush just wouldn't work. My boyfriend has also had the same problems with his own.

While the customer service is good about letting you exchange toothbrushes, eventually it just becomes more hassle than it's worth. The concept is great though.

Other than the fact they are aesthetically pleasing to have and are portable due to their light weight, they are not functionally great. Feels very fragile and ineffective.
I prefer other electric toothbrushes that provide circular moving brushes. Love how easy it is to change out the brush, and the colors look nice!
Bought the whole family a quip brush from target.

At first we absolutely loved these brushes, we all had them mounted to our mirrors… as time wen by and several heads replaced it sort of lost its spunk. We ended up spending the extra money on an oral b electric toothbrush which may be quadruple the price but worth the “just left the dentist” feeling.
i think this toothbrush is a 3.5 star product. packaging is great, cost is ok, and the vibrating timer is super helpful. however I've gone through 3 quips over the past 4 years and i think that's not super sustainable.

i wish it was cheaper for buy brush refills.
I got one of their fancy bluetooth toothbrushes that's supposed to connect with an app and tell you all these statistics about your brush habits. It worked twice and then would never connect via bluetooth ever again! I stopped using it after that because I was so over the gimmick of it all. $60 down the drain! I would recommend the classic Philips Sonicare over this anyday.

it dies too quick :/ I have gotten 3 and all broke
Ugh I love Quip so much. I got influenced by a friend into getting a toothbrush in 2019 and I love it so much. The subscription keeps me on it with updating my toothbrush regularly. The look and feel is so nice. and My toothbrush didn't go out until just earlier this year, so my whole brush lasted three years? This noticeably made a difference in the quality of my teeth too. I would love to get more from them but can't really afford to splurge more on a toothpaste or mouthwash refill. My only complaint would be, since COVID started, their shipping has gotten delayed a lot more and sometimes I've gotten a bad battery or two in the mail. I don't think this happens that often but I hope they're working on supply chain hiccups.
Not good. Either upgrade to a big boy electric toothbrush or stick with your traditional toothbrush.
Love the toothbrush, my dentist does too. Sleek design, minimal packaging for refills.

Toothbrush frequently breaks when I replace the head. Want more colors

Didn't feel like this was a electric toothbrush equivalent at all, it's a regular toothbrush that vibrates a little. Your teeth will be much cleaner with a sonicare (or equivalent).
With my first quip the replacement heads stopped attaching to the base/motor and would fall off as I was brushing. It seemed like they started using a new head manufacturer that didn't quite align with the base. They sent me a new base free of charge but again the heads wouldn't properly attach. I gave up on quip and started using an oral b electric toothbrush.

I was not a fan of this toothbrush. The feeling when it was inside my mouth was uncomfortable, it felt too bulky. Also the vibration function didn’t work properly and the button was incredibly difficult to press.
I love my quip brush. It’s low profile, takes batteries, is slim and sleek, easy to replace the brush head, and my teeth feel and look cleaner and whiter!
I really enjoyed my quip while I had it, but found the batteries died quickly and the heads needed to be changed more frequently than expected. But I think the sleek look is a really nice alternative to bulky electric toothbrushes

Making the head easier to replace

I've been using quip since they first launched (not even sure how long it's been), but I love the subscription model because it reminds me to change the head! I will say their customer service has always been helpful if something else with it is wrong!

My one qualm is that the batteries ALWAYS die so fast- they send you new ones with each new order, but at this point I don't even use the buzzing feature anymore because it's so annoying how often it doesn't work.
