PlantPaper earns largely positive reviews for effective, soft-yet-strong bamboo toilet paper that feels cleaner, looks elevated, and reduces chemicals, though opinions split on softness. Reviews also flag shedding, occasional irritation, smaller roll size, and a few reports of clogging, making the brand polarizing despite many loyal subscribers and praise for sustainable, plastic‑free packaging.

The TP is NOT the softest ever; it is actually a bit rough. What it does very well is that it breaks down easily and flushes well so for people on a septic system it is helpful. It comes in cardboard boxes so its packaging is recyclable. However, you will note that they do not allow Google reviews which is quite interesting and puzzling. If you actually had an amazing product, you would want your users to review it. I never had any problems with it, but would not order again. It is shipped over from China, has no regulations, and honestly they lost my trust by not openly disclosing those things. Their website ends in .us as though it is a US-based company; they preach sustainability yet ship products on ships across the ocean rather than just growing bamboo and processing in the U.S. Overall, it is an okay product that does not actually seem to truly be focused on sustainability. It is FAR from softest paper so false advertising in that - does that also mean it is not really bamboo???

I purchased PlantPaper at a store that had it on sale for $9.99. I would not purchase again. It sheds and that’s a huge issue for me. I also don’t think it’s the softest on the planet. I’m going to stick with REEL Bamboo Toilet Paper!

High quality and healthy paper but I wish it was more affordable somehow.

There are other brands out there but this one is by far the most healthiest--just also happens to be one of the more pricier ones.

I love this stuff. I came across PlantPaper in the bathroom of my favorite yoga studio, SkyTing, and have been using it for over two years. I’m a big fan of unbleached TP in my bathroom, I think it looks and feels great, but I mainly keep subscribing because the environmental impact of PlantPaper is much less than regular paper.

I wish they would start producing disposable or reusable paper towel products! I mostly rely on rags and towels for household cleaning but I do still supplement with paper towels and would buy from PlantPaper if they made some.

What a Con. The 96 rolls for $150 that are meant to last a family of 4 for 4 months is the same amount of toilet paper as the Costco brand pack for $23.99. I am appalled they are selling this amount of toilet paper for $150. Each roll is more narrow and thin than the Costco toilet paper rolls so even though plantpaper is selling 96 rolls they are tiny compared to what I get at Costco. Don’t waste your money.

This toilet paper is a complete rip off. Half the size of a regular role. A $60 purchase would last us 3-4 weeks tops with only two people in the house, one being a man. Absolutely ridiculous size for the price. Complete rip off.
No fuss, just great chemical-free toilet paper. Very different at first from "normal" TP, but once you get used to it, you can enjoy some beautiful design and a plastic-free option.

Please launch paper towel 🙏
This stuff is great! I never have to think about toilet paper again. Now it arrives monthly in cute little boxes (love that there's no unnecessary plastic wrap involved). When I first heard about it I was expecting bamboo toilet paper to be a little harsh on the butt but its soft (and still strong)!

Great product that just happens to be good for the world. I've been a subscriber for nearly a year and will certainly keep it up. I do feel like the subscription could be a little more intuitive (checking in for when you need more?) but that's the only issue I've had. Only annoying because then I can't use Plant Paper :) Cute branding, nice containers that I feel are attractive enough to leave out in my bathroom.
I found PlantPaper through thingtesting's TP-off where they compared various eco-friendly TP. I went with Plant Paper because it was the most economical and rolls were not individually packed. Side rant: I don't understand, and I am sure there is good reason for it, but why does TP need to be wrapped individually and then put in plastic boxes? Aren't we killing enough trees as it is? Coming back to the review - the packaging and the rolls themselves are very nondescript but are soft and are easy to use. Their absorbency is slightly less than what a regular 3-ply TP would be. Their shipping is seamless and easy, and the boxes can easily be stacked!
We've been subscribed to PlantPaper for just over a year, and I couldn't imagine having to actively think about and go to the store to pick up toilet paper ever again. The toilet paper itself is a little unusual at first, but I much prefer it to conventional toilet paper now. I also love the branding and packaging.
I received a couple Plant Paper toilet paper during their opening for Under / Over east featuring artists who made their own rendition of toilet paper holders. My friend Joel Evey participated in the group show with his piece.

I’m not sure if they have any for sale on the east coast yet but I know they’re at Erewhon if you’re ever on the west coast!
Soft and durable product with a subscription platform that's easy to pause or change.

A rare issue for most, but both my partner and I work from home and we find ourselves running out about a couple weeks before we're due for another delivery.
Opting for this eco-friendly paper brings a sense of satisfaction, and the delightful prints are an added treat!

I feel good about using this paper knowing it's better for the environment. The cute prints are a bonus!
I adore this eco-friendly paper! It looks great too, making it perfect for gifts. I wrapped a present with it, and it turned out beautifully.
