Pela earns polarized reviews: the brand’s compostable cases often protect phones through frequent drops and feel soft, grippy, and compact, yet durability and fit vary. Reviewers praise eco-credentials, cute designs, and comfortable texture, but note tearing and warping within a year, staining/discoloration, loose fits that can slip off, and incompatibility with MagSafe or stand-up wireless chargers.

Mine are still holding up well and wash easily. They overdo it a bit on the two-for-one ads but great mission.

Ive purchased several phone cases from Pela & have had great experiences across the board. The texture of these is interesting/unique but do a nice job protecting your phone. They do tend to get stained eventually through daily use (and this takes a while), and I've noticed the edges tend to become a little stretched out, but it takes quite a long time to get to this point. Additionally, their customer service is awesome, I got a phone case where the design came off after a couple of weeks of use & they replaced it (had no issues with the design w/the replacement). Would recommend buying when they have the BOGO sales or pay what you can promotions.
Really great high-quality cases and I think they were the first of their kind. For me personally, I am not the biggest fan anymore of the graphic designs, but other than that, it's really good. Totally recommend!
I love the brand's mission and the color options, but ultimately these cases feel a bit expensive for the quality. I got lots of targeted IG ads for one of their 2 for 1 sales and finally caved, but it felt like they got really noticeably dirty really easily and even ripped fairly easily too — and mind you this was early pandemic days when I was mostly staying home and the most activity was going on a run/walk outside. Love that they're sustainably made, but when they get so dirty and destroyed so easily and you need to go through they quickly it seems like it defeats the purpose.
Love the brand's mission and cause. There are lots of colors to choose from, however, the real color might be a bit different from the image presented on the website.
I love these phone cases. They are made with recycled materials. Very good quality. Never breaks. They do save my phone from breaking.
I love their dedication to sustainability as well as their cases! Their cases are amazing and compostable.

i love the mission and the case designs, i drop my phone all the time and my basic Pela is very protective. it does significantly wear away because it is biodegradable but it is worth it for the low price
Love Pela! I bought 4 cases from them in 3 months (broke my phone). Will definitely buy more in the future. Good protection, like the colors and patterns. I'm obsessed with the wallet case right now.

They had a weird post-purchase upsell for a shampoo bar that I did not realize was a subscription. Was being charged $25 a month. Don't do it.

While the pela cases may not seem like they are the most safe for your phone, in the four years I’ve been using them, none of my phone screens have ever cracked or been broken. They’re safer than they look and I love that they are compostable (and that the brand will compost them for you).

Great, sustainable alternative to plastic phone cases.
I really liked the cases and what they stand for! The company filled my order quickly and doesn't send an overwhelming amount of spam! I bought two cases on their sale and enjoyed both of them!

Sometimes the edges will peel, but only minorly so!

I bought a phone case. My case did fall apart, but I think that's a good thing. I love Pela's brand and mission, and will continue to buy their products and recommend it to friends. I took off one star because it fell apart a little too quickly. I would like the formula to be adjusted so that it doesn't come apart so quickly.

I bought two phonecases for my phone, a galaxy s8. I loved the look, the colours and the etching (I had the bees and the turtle.) The fit, however, was quite loose, and the case slipped often. My phone was still one of the newer models when the options dropped from about five to 2. Meanwhile, even older iPhones were getting 20+ designs, including the advertised clear cases. Okay, I get it, demand and supply, whatever, but it did make it so I couldn't purchase any other cases from them. Their loss. Then, it happened. The phone I'd saved up for for years (I was 15) slipped out of my pocket, and from a height of a mere 2 feet fell onto a marble step. The case slipped off, and the screen was ruined. I was upset, because had the case fit well, this would not have happened. I spoke with Pela, but they only offered me a 15% off my next purchase. The one I couldn't even make because they no longer offered anything for my model. Only a year or so later, and both cases have ripped in the same spots, irreparabile. Meanwhile, my mainstream brand phonecase has been doing it's job perfectly for 6 years. My conclusion? Unsustainable business model, subpar quality for a very high price, terrible customer service and it doesn't even last. That is not sustainable in my eyes. Not to mention I'm now paying $300 to get my screen repaired. Thanks, Pela.

Quality phone case with a nice mission but just really expensive for what you get.

Nice case, but doesn't work with wireless standup chargers or my magnetic charger. Very disappointed. Customer service also leave much to be desired...almost impossible to talk to a human on the chat feature.
