MUD\WTR earns mixed reviews: devotees report steady, jitter-free focus and soothing Rest blends, while critics call the earthy, chai-cacao flavors weak or muddy with grainy sediment and little caffeine kick. Reviews praise attractive packaging and versatile recipes with oat or coconut milk and sweeteners, but recurring complaints cite separability requiring a frother, occasional digestive upset, staining, and a taste that rarely replaces coffee.

Branding and packaging was nice. Taste…not so much. I love chai, and I’ve tried a lot of brands. I think if you’re not looking for this to be “good” chai or a coffee replacement, maybe you’ll like it. But honestly I’d rather just drink good chai and ingest mushrooms another way. 🤷♀️

Taste, texture (grainy).
I just purchased MUD\WTR for the first time, since I'm trying to cut back on coffee. Their Rise Chai is a dramatically different flavor profile than coffee, but I could get past that because enjoy chai lattes in general. I enjoyed my Welcome Kit unboxing and how they packaged everything. Their printed collateral is also nice. I'm not a personal fan of their brand copy. It's not my vibe.

I'm going to stick to my 30-days of MUD\WTR before making a decision to renew my description. It has all the ingredients I'm looking for, but it can be a little muddy (pun intended) if you don't get the right milk to powder ratio.
As with other mushroom drinks it takes some adjustment to the flavor and to finding your preferred recipe. The matcha flavor is good and more flavorful that some other brands. I have found it’s important to mix with 12oz of hot water. I then add 1tbsp of creamer and froth. Followed by pouring over ice and drinking with a straw. When I drink it hot I tend to have clumps at the bottom, so I’ve found I enjoy it more and get the full effect when drinking it cold with a straw. The caffeine level is enough for a boost without jitters. I have recommended the coffee flavor to my husband and he has fully converted to drinking that, which was surprising because he strongly resisted even trying it. But once he tried it he really like the flavor, he drinks it hot and describes it as being a comforting/soothing flavor.
I really like the chai mix. It does tend to separate and settle even after mixing with the electric mixer supplied, but it doesn't bother me too much. The flavor does not replace coffee, but it is a great alternative warm beverage for the day. I always add honey or another sweetener because the flavor is a bit too earthy for me as is, but I think it's a great product.

I liked MUD\WTR in theory -- who wouldn't want energy without caffeine? I am definitely trying to not have coffee everyday and welcome alternatives. That said, I didn't re-order MUD\WTR. It just didn't cross the threshold for me there to want to buy it again -- a bit too expensive, not a tasty-enough beverage (and tough to make it homogenous / not 'powdery'), and most importantly, I didn't really feel anything from it. I can see how this product has diehard fans where it clicks for them and they don't mind the taste/texture and are able to feel the effects. I'll be sticking with coffee for when I want energy

Unfortunately I could not recommend. The taste is terrible; frankly undrinkable even with adding creamers etc. I threw out after trying once.

The taste is really bad.
I tried the masala chai and it really lived up to its name -- tasted like mud, but has a cinnamon after taste. They advertised it as a coffee alternative but there's no way I'll replace my coffee with this... mud-tasting water. I liked the packaging though.
MUD\WTR was my first foray into the lands of coffee replacements, and I admittedly purchased it after seeing the targeted Facebook ads. I like the flavor when adding plant based creamer and coconut sugar… leans more toward chai than cacao. The frother is excellent and is contained in its own case which is great for travel. This is almost what I’m looking for but doesn’t quite nail it, and is more than I’d like to spend. Close, but no cigar, MUD\WTR.
Everyone's problem is they they expect this to taste like a latte right out the tin - it doesn't. You have to doctor it just like you would a good latte.

My favorite combo is a good creamy oat milk and some monk fruit sweetener (a must - without that, yeah, it's no good). This combo makes THE MOST delicious coffee replacement ever. For someone like me, with migraines, who can't have coffee, this stuff is the bomb.
the packaging and design is lit.

honestly, doesn't taste that good.
I was really excited to try the Masala Chai and I wanted to really love it. But it just reminded me of drinking clay water.

Couldn't really get myself to enjoy it. I liked having a routine, and it tasted "healthy", but I never figured out a formula that worked for me. I also didn't like the mess that came from needing to use a foamer each time (it doesn't dissolve well).

Better form factor + taste?
Really nice product! Me and my family love it. The ingredients are wonderful and it helps with energy—and has a great taste, too!

Has a bit of a grain to it, but not bad!

i like it. its ~ earthy ~ its definitely not coffee. you can definitely make your own blend easily, although i like the gingerbread spice-ness of their formula.
Personally just not for me (taste + consistency). Product and package are quality, and customers at our old stores used to enjoy them - but I'd prefer tea if I'm changing it up from coffee.
I like it - seeing other reviews you just have to know what you are getting. There are a lot of earthy herbs in here, it is not going to "taste" like a coffee replacement, as much as serve as a replacement for the "function" of coffee - energy, focus, etc.

I've been drinking MUD|WTR for over three years now. I love the Tumeric - it definitely gives me a perk during the midday slump at work. The sludge makes a second cup too!

This has replaced my coffee. I don't get the crash and my gut health has improved. I have had cancer 3times, leaving my body with a slew of medical issues on top of my ADHD. This has been a game changer for me & i can't see myself ever going back! MUD/WTR mixed with my favorite creamer tastes like I went to a coffee shop! I left a long video review on my tiktok alexandrite_houghton

I really enjoy my Mud! I'm not a coffee drinker but a chai drinker. Mud has been added to my routine. I often have a mug of mud after dinner. Sometimes I crave it! I like that I can make it sweeter or less sweet depending on my mood. I originally wanted it to have a more chocolatey taste but now I don't. It's great!

I was subscribed to this product, I did enjoy the product but it seemed to throw me off keto, also caused severe leg cramps BECAUSE mushrooms use up the bodies potassium and magnesium, it didn't matter how much I supplemented, still cramps until I stopped the mudwater. My biggest complaint is when my subscription got mixed up I tried to call them, they only communicate through email, we could not get my account straight or my questions answered through email and they refused to speak with me directly, sometimes CUSTOMER SERVICE needs to be a priority, not an afterthought
