amazing produce, food and costumer service.
Less food waste is always the best idea. I had a subscription for quite some time and while it was mostly great, there were many times some of the produce was full blown spoiled/rotten. As a food professional, I do not think the prices are high, as I know most of it goes into fulfillment, but it does feel high for the lack of shelf life left on the produce at times. However, the mission is great, the product assortment is nice and I like that they added more pantry items.

I've been using Misfits for almost a year now and have been loving it! The mission is amazing and I feel so good not only getting to save money but to save food waste. They advertise that you might get 'weird' or 'misshapen' food, but that's rarely ever been the case. I've gotten some incredible peanut butter with a French label, but that might be the weirdest thing. Living in NYC, this is also sooo nice to have groceries delivered to my door - especially cans and heavy pantry items. You have to shop almost a week in advance of getting your order, but I kind of like being able to plan my meals ahead of time and then know what groceries I still need based on the Misfits selection that week. The selection is usually pretty solid for basic items, and sometimes there are really fun brands available at a discount.

The website can be a little glitchy at times, particularly when logging in. I also have an issue with a damaged item 1/3 of the time, but the website makes it super easy to report the issue and get immediately credited for the item. The addition of the wine selection is a great idea, but I need to know not more about the bottles before making a bulk purchase. I'd like if there were a natural wine section added, or at least some more information on the flavor.
We used misfits for about two years during the pandemic. I enjoyed not having to pick any produce and having to be creative with what the sent. During deep lockdown it felt like a luxury and a godsend! Once they changed their model I still enjoyed choosing my own products and still firmly believe it’s a great deal. Some products they send were unusable, either VERY under ripe to the point where they would never ripen in my home or bruised and banged up. HOWEVER I still love misfits and think it’s an extremely good value and has a great mission.

Some items are too under ripe or get ruined

One of the better food/meal/grocery boxes I've tried (and I've tried a lot, of all different types). Good mix and variety, and the prices of individual things felt fair. I got to try some brands of snacks and such that I wouldn't have otherwise. My one dislike: the additional price for a cold pack. It basically doubled the price of my box to get refrigeration added, so it's not possible to just get, say, one pack of cheese or one type of meat. This wasn't the case for most other boxes I've tried, and it's not like I was saving much money in general with Misfits Market.
I received multiple deliveries from Misfit Market. I did have an issue with food quality once and customer service handled it promptly. This company makes it so convenient to try different vegetables and fruits.
Misfit Market was okay. I enjoy their website design and they make it really easy to add items to your box and navigate their website, which is a plus. When I actually received the box, that is when the problems hit. Icepacks melted, box soggy, vegetables that were torn to shred due to other heavy items, crushed ramen, etc. Website had a good variety of things and I could try a lot of things I would not conventionally buy at a grocery store; however, I would not go again. If your products are destroyed in transit, they make it really easy to request a refund for those items! Shipping was also timely as well.

I understand using ecofriendly packaging, but there must be a better way to keep heavy items at the bottom and soft vegetables at the top. It may have been due to transport, but that was my only problem with the box.
I wanted to like this one so badly. I LOVE LOVE LOVE their mission, but on occasion a few of my items were a little *too* misfit for me. I would still recommend trying it out though! Their customer service is great.

I wonder if they could make tiers almost, of how "misfit" people are comfortable with and change pricepoint based on that.
Timely delivery; Super local/fresh food; Need to be creative in menus with some items being a bit untraditional.

I really really loved Misfits for years, but their latest product change just misses the mark for me. When I first started getting Misfits it was a true mystery box -- we had no control over what arrived, and while that sometimes meant we had to deal new and unfamiliar product it was still fun, gave us produce, and saved us time at the grocery store. The second iteration I saw was a switch to being able to pick out the items in your box (while supplies lasted). It was a bit more time consuming but obviously better for our planning purposes, and the picking was pretty easy: pick 2 from this category, 3 from this category, etc. The current iteration is that pick out everything in your box, except now every piece of produce has a price attached and you have to hit a minimum total, or you can go over the total and do what seems to be something close to a full grocery shop. The issue for me is that this now saves me no time and means I'm trying to compare Misfits prices with my grocery store prices, which isn't fun and defeats my original purpose of saving time and getting a fun lil produce box in the mail. Sure my grocery store doesn't have the organic options Misfits does, but I'm not really in it for the organics. I think this new iteration is good for folks who already do a fair amount of online grocery shopping, but if you're just looking for a relatively cheap and easy way to prevent food waste and get some produce in your house, I would join a CSA instead.

I'm sad the product model changed, but I get it! I wish I still had the option to pick the old "mystery box" format.
Great selection of organic fruits, veggies, other pantry staples in a super convenient subscription service. The website is easy to navigate and very nice to look at. I can feasibly do all my grocery shopping in my Misfits box. It's nice to see the money I'm saving.

They run out of items quickly sometimes! Like peaches or other yummy in-season fruits / veggies, and I hate seeing when I missed out on them. It also feels like while the packaging is recycling, it's just a lot and I always feel like I'm taking up so much room in my recycling bin.
I joined when they were brand new. They have improved a lot and have more options
I really liked getting to pick out what would go into my box and the flexibility and range of products received. I live in an area where a lot of the products that came in my box were products that would not be available in the stores locally to me.
Feedback
The biggest consideration is the delivery day of the week and time. I was always able to put the contents of my box away relatively quickly and I would recommend doing that if possible.
I generally like Misfits Market. I love getting produce delivered, and they have a ton of offerings in the marketplace now!

Sometimes items go bad, and without a discount code, it's not a great deal.

I liked my experience with Misfits but wasn’t in love. I personally find that my trips at the farmers market are more worth it terms of price for quantity of food you get, and when you go to the farmers market, you’re guaranteeing the food you buy is local. Misfits orders were limited and I just didn’t find it to be worth it for me.

Nothing in particular but it wasn’t for me!
I have a love/not love relationship with Misfits Market. Love the concept, great prices, ever-changing selection, great customer service.

BUT every single order I've gotten from MM has had some missing or something spoiled. Like recently, I had selected two bags of kale chips, but they were missing. There were 2 boxes of cookie mix in there that I did NOT order... Usually customer service is great, but this most recent time, they have not gotten back to me.
Misfits has an incredible mission to reduce food waste. The food shipped is always organic and high quality. It is an easy customer experience and affordable price point.

I wish I could opt out of some of the food sent each week. I stopped ordering because I was receiving too many foods such as onions that I wasn't eating. It would be great to add more customization options.

I don't care about imperfect produce, but I do care about rotting produce. About half of what they sent was already bad or didn't last more than a day or two. No thanks
I hate going to the grocery store and have a really busy schedule so misfits fits my needs - high quality, good value produce and snack food items. I have a weekly subscription. My only rub is that the times I've forgotten my selections for the week which triggers their auto cart fill feature, I've ended up with 2 lbs of oranges, three different types of apples, and a sack of potatoes. All fine things on their own but when that's my entire order for the week I don't know how I'm supposed to make meals out of those three items.
Feedback
What they offer is based on what they have coming in so a lot of what I consider to be "staples" i.e. salsa, isn't regularly or ever available. You may need to supplement with trips to the grocery store or other online retailers. Sometimes the way items are packaged (or not packaged) damages them in transit but every time I have had an issue they are quick to resolve it for me.

First couple of orders were fine, however there’s a reason why I no longer use this service. They kept on giving me items I had not chosen alongside various foods that were completely rotted.
