Great vegetable and fruit variety and sizes. They allow you to select the day and frequency of your order. You can also add other items based on their availability.

Timely delivery; Super local/fresh food; Need to be creative in menus with some items being a bit untraditional.

Misfits has an incredible mission to reduce food waste. The food shipped is always organic and high quality. It is an easy customer experience and affordable price point.

Feedback

I wish I could opt out of some of the food sent each week. I stopped ordering because I was receiving too many foods such as onions that I wasn't eating. It would be great to add more customization options.

I've been an evangelist for this brand since I started using them in 2018. I've watched them grow and change for the better, and honestly can't think of any brand I'm more loyal to as a consumer. Being organic, prices of produce are often more expensive than my local greengrocer, but the pantry items and impossible meat are always cheaper through Misfits.

Feedback

Every now and then things may arrive late, but it's very rare now as compared with 2018/19. I haven't had anything arrive mouldy since about 2019.

I'm obsessed with misfits market! (I might be bias because my roommate works for them.) But their mission for eliminating food waste and making groceries more accessible is wildly authentic. They actually care about their end goal and they will not support something that goes against their mission. It's super easy to add items to your box and each month they are expanding to more and more categories. I'm able to get everything I need for a weeks worth of food and I have yet to pay over $75 for a week worth of groceries. It's a fun way to explore new snacks and foods at a fraction of the price.

Feedback

I wish they had a few more ready packaged meals available so when I don't want to cook I can grab a quick pre-made salad.

I really loved my Misfits Market subscription. Had to temporarily cancel it because we moved, but it's a great way to get organic fruits and vegetables at an incredible price. Just make sure you're a frequent home cook, as they really send a lot of produce (which is a major plus for me).

Great selection of organic fruits, veggies, other pantry staples in a super convenient subscription service. The website is easy to navigate and very nice to look at. I can feasibly do all my grocery shopping in my Misfits box. It's nice to see the money I'm saving.

Feedback

They run out of items quickly sometimes! Like peaches or other yummy in-season fruits / veggies, and I hate seeing when I missed out on them. It also feels like while the packaging is recycling, it's just a lot and I always feel like I'm taking up so much room in my recycling bin.

The freshness of the produce in a Misfits box is impressive and feels much better than our local Whole Foods. The sizes can really be random, however, and with smaller quantities, you aren't always getting enough eggplant, tomato etc. for one meal for two.

Feedback

Sometimes it can feel a bit random how much someone is going to get from a box. It might make sense to include veggies or fruit not by amount (like 2 eggplants) but by serving size (enough for 2, enough for 4, etc), to make sure one can meal plan around the box.

They have recently changed their model where you have to spend $30 minimum on the box and you are flexible to pick anything from the produce to pantry items to dairy products. The pantry items are heavily discounted and from trusted brands! The produce is less "wonky" than the branding suggests, but has seasonal and local selections.

Feedback

Due to covid, there have been lots of shipping delays - sometimes boxes that have shipped take a couple of extra days.. which can affect the shelf life of the produce coming your way. The customer service is great about resolving issues for produce that is unfit for consumption upon delivery, but it is unfortunate whenever food goes to waste. The cardboard packaging is a little bothersome, I wonder if there is scope for using more of a circular packaging system with bags that can be returned etc.
