  • I purchased the Masienda tortilla press and the heirloom masa flour gift pack. The masa is very high quality and the tortilla press is easy to use for consistent and even tortilla making, granted that you use plastic wrap or the plastic sheets that are included.

  • One of the easiest brands to find for high quality organic heirloom masa harina! While there are certainly smaller operations worth supporting if you're regularly making tortillas and/or tamales, Masienda has been the brand I've used consistently for the last year and it's excellent!

  • This was the best tasting masa ive ever used!! While I cant say im an expert, I found this to make such delicious tamales and tortillas for a big family dinner. Cant say much more other than when such a simple ingredient item tastes so good just as is, I know its a winner. I also very much appreciate that this is sustainably sourced from a company who clearly cares.

  • Meh, don’t know if it’s quite worth it for the price. I Like the brand’s mission but there’s a million different other tortilla presses from small businesses out there doing the same job without the massive marketing push driving up the cost.

  • I tried making tortillas from scratch for the first time with their blue corn masa harina and it was a game changer. The quality of their heirloom masa is pretty outstanding and really does taste better than your everyday store-bought tortilla. Plus, it was fun to use the tortilla press, which was heavy but intuitive and easy to use for a newbie (I actually keep it on display in my kitchen because I love the aesthetic so much)

I like what the company stands for a lot. They have a pretty detailed sourcing report on their website that talks about their network of small-scale growers in Mexico and how using heirloom corn can make a big difference in preserving agricultural biodiversity
