Liquid I.V. reviews and discussion

Reviews mention

  • Fast-acting hydration boost
  • Convenient travel-friendly packets
  • Wide, crowd-pleasing flavors
  • Smooth, easy dissolving powder
  • Overly sweet flavor profiles
  • Noticeable salty aftertaste
  • High sugar and sodium content
  • Occasional clumping texture

Liquid I.V. earns strong reviews for fast, noticeable hydration—especially after workouts, heat, travel, or a night out—while convenient single-serve packets and broad flavor variety (standouts include Lemon Lime, Strawberry, Passion Fruit, Watermelon, Golden Cherry) make it easy to use. Reviews also flag consistent drawbacks: many flavors taste overly sweet or salty, some feel thick or artificial, and the added sugar and sodium (with a newer sugar‑free line noted) are frequent concerns; mixing can clump and flavor hit-or-miss. Overall, the brand is effective but polarizing on taste and ingredients.

  • Liquid IV is an absolute life saver for me! I get dehydration migraines and when I feel one coming on I can usually stop it from happening by sitting down and drinking a liquid IV.

    Price! So expensive

  • It does the job keeping me hydrated. I love that they come as a powder so I can easily put it in my purse and bring it to events & add it to water when needed. I also love that it is easy to find in stores.

  • I know people that swear by this. I bought it hoping I would like it but I really can't stand the taste. I think it is because they use stevia in it.

The formulation/taste needs to be improved.

  • Overall, the product does exactly what you expect it to. While the effects of the product are as expected (similar to pedialyte) and work great for a hangover or when you're feeling under the weather, I wish the flavors were more tasty.

  • Basically tastes like pedialyte but with different marketing

    Feedback

    Too sugary.

  • I do not go on vacation without my liquid IV. I have enjoyed every flavor so far and couldn’t be more pleased with this product.

    More and more flavors!

  • Did it’s job by helping us recover! The flavors could use some assistance as it does taste “medicine” like. I love how it works and helps you recover! Also the packaging is great for travel!

    Flavors

  • Really liked their flavors! I only use about half a packet in a 16 oz water bottle. If i use the whole packet, it's super sweet. Definitely tastes better and feels better than other sports drinks like Gatorade or Propel. A go-to staple when I'm hungover lol

  • Liquid I.V saved me while I was marathon training throughout the summer. It brought my back to life whenever I was dehydrated after a long run. The taste is amazing and the way it makes my body feel is even better.

  • Love the drink packets! Great for morning after a few drinks, or pre/post activity.

I wish there was a sugar free version!

  • This is great for hot summer days and when feeling ill. I was not a big fan of the taste I felt it left a small after taste when I consumed it.

    Better taste

  • I have a hard time figuring out if this works for me. i really like how it dissolves in water, but I find the taste a little strong for a water beverage.

    Smaller sizes with lower sugar

  • A staple for me on a redeye or before drinking. Easy to pop a packet in my purse and throw into a waterbottle or glass. It really improves how I feel after drinking or a long flight.

Really wish there were more flavor and effervescent options. It reminds me of being force fed Alka Seltzer as a kid with the flu.

  • I like the easy packaging and ability to travel anywhere with the product however I do find it sugary and overpriced. Biggest highlight for me is the flavors, they all taste great

    Less sugar, better pricing

  • Honestly, this doesn't do much. It's a whoollle lot of sugar with not a lot of electrolytes. At that point, just grab a gatorade or make yourself a glass of water with salt. There are tons of sugar free / higher electrolyte options out there that will hydrate you more.

  • I have been a fan of liquid IV for years and it’s helped so much with dehydration and the subsequent headaches that I get from it. I take it on hikes and keep some in my bag as my friends with POTS love it for the electrolyte boost. Loved all the flavors I’ve tried from the brand and the slightly salty flavor and lower sweetness makes me prefer liquid IV over other electrolyte supplements.

  • I love this stuff. Tastes good and works to rehydrate and get you feeling good after a hard workout or even just prolonged time in the sun. There isn’t a week that goes by that I don’t use a sachet in my water or drink.

I beg Liquid I.V. to offer their product in recyclable or compostable bulk packaging. The many packets model makes sense when you’re on the go, but I cringe every time I throw away one of these single use packages. Just give us a big pot of this stuff option. :)

  • For something that’s marketed as “healthy” it is certainly extremely high in sugar, contains natural flavors, and other additives and stabilizers that make me question what about it is healthy. This is one of those last resort things you take when you’re hungover and there’s nothing else to save you from yourself. I’ve tried a few different flavors and unless you’re diluting it in 64oz of water or more it tastes like you’re drinking kool aid. There are much better brands on the market that do better and are less harmful to your body.
