Reviews mention

  • Noticeably fast hydration boost
  • Convenient travel-ready packets
  • Wide, crowd-pleasing flavors
  • Mixes easily in cold water
  • Overly sweet, sometimes salty taste
  • High sugar and sodium content
  • Occasional thick, gritty texture
  • Inconsistent flavor enjoyment

Liquid I.V. earns strong reviews for fast, noticeable hydration—especially after workouts, travel, heat, and hangovers—while convenient single-serve packets and broad flavor variety (Lemon Lime, Strawberry, Passion Fruit, Watermelon, Golden Cherry) stand out. However, many reviews flag overly sweet, sometimes salty flavors, a “thick” mouthfeel, undissolved grit, and high sugar/sodium; some prefer diluting with more water or the newer sugar‑free line, and a few question ingredient “cleanliness” or effectiveness versus competitors.

  • Hydrating and taste delicious. I’ve gone through 2 packaging now. Love that I can have electrolyte drinks that are easy to Cary and store. A lifesaver in my purse!

    more flavors!

  • So sweet. A lot of extra sugar. So many better alternatives.

    Feedback

Do your research first, there are so many of these on the market now.

  • Tastes great, you won’t find a better option when it comes to electrolyte replacing mixes. I trust the brand and will continue to purchase.

    Feedback

As much as I’d like to see a sugar free version I really do believe this product has an amazing formulation as is.

  • It's a good product - I like getting the electrolytes but there's a good amount of sugar and they're very expensive for what they are in my opinion.

    Feedback

I've purchased at Costco, which gives a bit of savings, but generally speaking I'd rather use a different way to get my electrolytes that doesn't have sugar or require a big spend.

  • Love the flavors - lemon lime is my favorite. I find these great for after a night out to replenish hydration, but they are also great for post-workout.

    Feedback

Slightly expensive - wish there were more economical options

  • Not great flavor, mixes well with water, too much sugar

    More flavor options

  • Liquid IV used to be the best electrolyte supplement around but these days there are a lot of brands doing it much better with better flavor options, lower price points, and less sugar. Nothing special.

    Feedback

Would do your research and explore some other brands! Not the worst, and great for travel, but there are better options out there

  • The lemon flavor is a bit salty, but love every other flavor I’ve tried. This is my go-to brand for rehydration. The best after a night out.

  • Great for those picky drinkers. My boyfriend doesn't enjoy drinking water. So i got these from him and he says he feels less sluggish and he's definitely well hydrated.

  • These talk me into drinking water, which otherwise I don't like. Love the guava and strawberry, I'm not as crazy about the lemon-lime. This has been my go to for years to help with my super-sensitivity to dehydration. Now that I have dialed back my sugar intake, I am not turning to these unless I am in dire need of electrolytes, but I do give them to my kids who love the sweet flavor.

    Feedback

I wish they had a less sweet, low sugar version but not just switching to erythritol or sucralose.

  • I have a condition that requires me to drink electrolyte mixes all the time or my blood pressure drops drastically. I tried Liquid I.V. after someone recommended it on a FB group for people with my same condition. For someone who has to take this daily, it can get expensive. The other problem is the sugar content. I have type 2 diabetes so these are not great for me. The taste is not bad and I like that they have a lot of different flavors but some of them can be a little salty.

If you decide to try these, I recommend getting a variety pack. I don't know if you can find variety packs anywhere else but their website.

  • Weird flavors. This is basically just adding salt and slight flavor to water - you’re better off just getting something else, or adding a splash of juice to your water

  • I got a sample of these for my son who's an athlete and was pleasantly pleased with the results. Athletes train in some of the harshest weather so this comes in handy on those especially hot days, and with us being in the South, that's most of the calendar year. He really loves the strawberry flavor and loves how it helps him feel reenergized after a tough workout. I make sure to keep a few on me daily for whenever he needs them.

My son loves the taste and the how it helps to reenergize him after a tough workout. I would recommend this to anyone who works out on the daily or for any young athletes. It even works for regular day to day functions. Just simply add this to a bottle of water and it works as well as other name brand drinks.

  • Liquid I.V. is one of the favorite drink mixes I have ever tried. personally, I have a very hard time drinking enough water during the day. Liquid I.V. is amazing because I can pack the packets in my bag wherever I'm going and put it in water when I get there. I am not a huge fan of the amount of sodium in them but I think that the science behind it makes sense, the number is just scary. It is also a bit expensive for the kind of products they have.

  • Good product. Kind of salty but overall enjoyed and helps me drink water

    Feedback

More flavors! Would love to see piña colada. And maybe a slightly less salty flavor?

  • Love this brand especially after a night out, I always carry one on me. This helps hydrate me

  • Overall taste is great and is great for sipping throughout the day or chugging after a serious sweat session. I definitely feel like it keeps me from cramping and getting dehydrated.

  • When Liquid IV first came out I loved the concept, it really helps with my hangovers, I love additional electrolytes. But now with all of these other competing brands, I tend to lean towards those because they have less sugar and less shit in them overall.

    Feedback

The sugar is what gets me. They also tend to lean more cheugy in their branding efforts and activations and it just could be better as a brand overall.

  • I always have liquid IV at home as I drink it with the aim of fufilling my hydration. When I think I haven't drank enough water for the day, I will drink a bottle of Liquid IV at night and I will feel replenished. I have noticed this during the change in season where I can feel my skin drying up and drinking a bottle of liquid IV will help with rehydrating my skin. I also drink this during sport which has helped with less cramping.
