Liquid I.V. reviews and discussion

Reviews mention

  • Fast-acting hydration boost
  • Convenient travel-friendly packets
  • Wide, crowd-pleasing flavors
  • Smooth, easy dissolving powder
  • Overly sweet flavor profiles
  • Noticeable salty aftertaste
  • High sugar and sodium content
  • Occasional clumping texture

Liquid I.V. earns strong reviews for fast, noticeable hydration—especially after workouts, heat, travel, or a night out—while convenient single-serve packets and broad flavor variety (standouts include Lemon Lime, Strawberry, Passion Fruit, Watermelon, Golden Cherry) make it easy to use. Reviews also flag consistent drawbacks: many flavors taste overly sweet or salty, some feel thick or artificial, and the added sugar and sodium (with a newer sugar‑free line noted) are frequent concerns; mixing can clump and flavor hit-or-miss. Overall, the brand is effective but polarizing on taste and ingredients.

  • I can’t stand the taste but I think it works

    Please make better flavors

  • I got the passion fruit flavored packets. I liked the taste, though I had to dilute it more than recommended because it tasted so sugary. I didn’t notice a huge difference in feeling hydrated, but I did feel good.

  • Liquid I.V. is an amazing product for those of us who maybe forget to drink during the day. It has saved me from some nasty headaches and tastes great! Super great to have on hand during the summer and easy to pack when you'll be spending time outdoors or in the sun.

I'm not certain how well this works for additional hydration. I feel like it's kind of a placebo because I drink more water quickly because I want to get the benefits of Liquid I.V.

  • Tasty hydration packets. Super easy to take with me on the go. Major downside is the amount of sugar in each serving.

  • LiquidIV is really great for increasing hydration and helping you feel better. I live at elevation, and I drink LiquidIV whenever I'm not feeling 100%, and it usually helps, as I'm most likely not retaining water correctly. I would say they also help with hangovers, but usually have to be paired with ibuprofen.

They're a little too sweet and don't dissolve into ice cold water that well.

  • This and Advil after a hang over are great! Didn’t love the taste too Much but that’s preference over anything.

  • This is great for after a really sweaty workout. It helps replenish your electrolytes. There are many different flavors. I like that it’s a powder so you can dilute it however you want especially if you don’t like sweet drinks. I wouldn’t drink this regularly (without exercising) because the sodium content is a little high for just a pleasure drink. I also like the portability of the packaging. You can pack some sticks wherever you go (hiking, biking, travel, etc) and it doesn’t take up space.

Maybe make different powders for different needs. For example, make different concentrations of electrolytes based on intensity/activity.

  • Liquid I.V. saved my life throughout college. Truly nothing can solve a hangover like a dose of ibuprofen and a massive glass of water with a Liquid I.V. packet. I am partial to the Lemon Lime and Passion Fruit flavors; they have never served me wrong.

  • Mixes well

I heard some mixed reviews about how it might be harmful to take products like liquid IV regularly

  • I'm a huge liquid IV fan. I take these traveling and they help give me that extra hydration and taste great. I prefer these to nuun's, the taste seems more "natural". My favorite flavors are passionfruit, acai, and guava! They made it easy to travel and have helped many a friend with a hangover.

  • The product tastes great but the sugar content is a lot for a small stick.

    Less sugar.

  • Forever repurchasing. These hydrate like no other and are perfect for an afternoon slump or a morning after.

  • I think these are good at giving you some needed hydration after a night of drinking. It doesn’t completely cure my hangover, but drinking a glass of liquid I.V does help to minimize the negative effects of my hangover.

  • The flavors are powdery and it’s are to find one that tastes right. I’ve tried lemon lime, passion fruit, and tangerine. I think I like tangerine the best.

    Honestly, flavor testing…

  • The green liquid IV are truly my favorite afternoon pick me up as a health care worker. It’s nice to get a little energy boost without feeling dehydrated. I actually love the flavor too!

  • Very convenient and tasty formulas considering the sodium. Jury is out for me on whether these work, but I do think it is a nice ritual when you are traveling

  • Pretty solid. Good for travel. Pretty good flavors in terms of similar products.

Sugar content is super high and flavor could be a lot better to really put over the edge. Bc sugar content is so high it makes it feel less healthy. Basically I wonder why I would choose this over like a Gatorade mix?

  • I love liquid iv. The powders are salty, but that’s expected from anything with electrolytes. I first bought it for a trip to Vegas and it’s quickly become a staple.
