Reviews mention

  • Fast-acting hydration boost
  • Convenient travel-friendly packets
  • Wide, crowd-pleasing flavors
  • Smooth, easy dissolving powder
  • Overly sweet flavor profiles
  • Noticeable salty aftertaste
  • High sugar and sodium content
  • Occasional clumping texture

Liquid I.V. earns strong reviews for fast, noticeable hydration—especially after workouts, heat, travel, or a night out—while convenient single-serve packets and broad flavor variety (standouts include Lemon Lime, Strawberry, Passion Fruit, Watermelon, Golden Cherry) make it easy to use. Reviews also flag consistent drawbacks: many flavors taste overly sweet or salty, some feel thick or artificial, and the added sugar and sodium (with a newer sugar‑free line noted) are frequent concerns; mixing can clump and flavor hit-or-miss. Overall, the brand is effective but polarizing on taste and ingredients.

  • Love these! Great for post or pre workout! Also GREAT to have before a night out!! Or after! 😉 so many flavors and I personally love the sugar free ones!!!

  • Liquid IV definitely does the job of getting you replenished with electrolytes! I love it for travel when I’m not drinking as much water as usual. My only complaint is the amount of sugar… I can only consume a half of a packet at a time because it is otherwise too sweet.

  • These were a lifesaver in college. Lemon lime is my personal favorite, but the passion fruit is really tasty too! I like to drink these when I get home from a night of drinking to try and prevent hangovers the next morning, usually worked for me!

  • Does have a salt taste to it, unsure if it did anything.

  • Amazing! They make your water taste good while also making you feel good! As someone who was in marching band during the 110+ days in Texas they are a lifesaver!

  • Tasted artificial, the hype is just that. A lot people say to drink it all the time but it’s for rehydration. It has a purpose.

  • Works well for hangovers. Taste is fine.

  • Overall I like this product. However, it does contain a lot of sodium, and the price is pretty high for the product.

  • I really wanted to like this product based on the hydration benefits but the taste and texture was not appealing. It was really hard to drink 1. I would definitely prefer drinking water even if I have to drink significantly more to be equivalent.

  • love this product hydrates me to the core!

  • It tasted like weak koolaid and had a thickish, slippery texture.

    None
  • I’m a huge fan of Strawberry and Pina Colada! Both get the job done without tasting too sweet or salty.

  • These saved me and my friends on a bachelorette trip after a little too much drinking in the sunshine. About an hour after drinking liquid IV, my hangover started to go away. Of note, they are sugary so I diluted it with more water. Highly recommend! Flavor was good and no weird aftertaste.

  • I really enjoy Liquid IV. Are there other and sometimes better options out there? Yes. But this is accessible and pretty available which adds to its allure. It’s certainly no magical cure for dehydration or a hangover but it helps and it does so relatively quickly. The flavors are a bit strong in my opinion but can be thinned out. Overall it’s a great thing to have on hand when you need a little extra boost in your hydration and electrolyte replenishment. I’m excited to see more sugar free versions coming out!

  • My friends and I use liquid IV when we go out to a bar or something, we mix it in with our drink so we get dehydrated less quickly! (Then, of course, we also use it the next day...) I like the product a lot, but it has a lot of added sugar, so I use the low-sugar one. I think it works really well and try to grab some whenever they are on sale. I bring them with me when I travel and like to take one whenever I'm feeling under the weather, before/after a workout, or just toward the end of the day if I realize I haven't had much water.

  • Growing up playing sports, and also playing a college sport, I used Liquid IV a lot. It's hard to speak on the effectiveness because my diet would also vary day to day but it definitely helps with water retention and hydration.

  • Good but SO SWEET. I'm guessing that the sugar is part of the electrolytes, but I'm not a huge fan of the sugary taste. That being said, the single packs are so useful and easy to take on the go for travel.

  • These packets are great for on the go. They rip and pour easily. The contents dissolve fairly well. I love the concept and the variety of flavors. However, I wish it was less sugary.

  • A bit too much sugar and can get clumpy but all in all gets the job done & makes you feel a whole lot more hydrated.
