Kiwi Co's subscription boxes are loved by children for their fun, educational and interactive hands-on projects. Parents appreciate the quality and design of each project and the thoughtfulness of the toys. However, concerns have been raised about the amount of plastic waste generated and the lack of a good gifting process. Some customers also feel it is overpriced and that the projects could be more engaging.

  • My kids got this as a present from their grandma and it was so successful that we ended up subscribing on our own. 9/10 boxes, my kids love!

    Feedback

The company should be more communicative about how/when a recipient graduates from one type of box (Koala, Kiwi, Atlas, etc.) to the next. Once they feel they've outgrown a type, it's hard to keep them engaged. It should also come with recommendations on how to store all the little creations! :D

  • Both our boys have had a year of Kiwi crates. We got them a subscription and when it ran out, the grandparents re-upped it for them. During the lockdown/COVID times, these crates were a godsend. Both kids loved them and would spend hours creating, crafting and learning. Every crate had multiple activities around a theme, which really helped land the educational aspects.

    Feedback

Getting the age level right is tricky. If the crate is too hard, you (the parent) end up doing it. If the crate is too easy, the kid is unsatisfied.

  • Fun bi-monthly subscription box, colourful toys and activity ideas.

  • My daughter got this as a gift a few years ago for 6 months. it was great for a 4 year old. She loves crafts and this was a great activity box.

    Feedback

durability of items once made. the crafts seemed to fall apart with multiple plays

  • I'm reviewing this from a gift perspective. It's one of the best for kids. I got a 6 month art subscription for my 12 year old niece for Christmas and she absolutely loved it – I just renewed because the experience has been so positive. The projects are high quality and engaging. The creations are include like light strings for her room, or a leather satchel. She eagerly awaits every month's shipment and sends me photos of her creations. It enables us to maintain a close connection through one of her passions, and it's great being a conduit for her in that sense. I plan to give subscriptions to all me nieces and nephews.
