Reviews mention

  • High-protein, plant-based noodles
  • Flavorful, savory broths
  • Lower-carb, higher-fiber formula
  • Versatile, add-in friendly base
  • Rubbery, grainy noodle texture
  • Inconsistent broth intensity
  • Small, unsatisfying portions
  • Broth occasionally overly salty

immi earns polarized reviews: the brand delivers convincing plant‑based broths (notably Black Garlic “Chicken,” Tom Yum “Shrimp,” and Spicy “Beef”) and high protein, low‑carb, high‑fiber noodles that satisfy health‑minded eaters, but many find the noodle texture rubbery, grainy, or tough and the flavors occasionally bland or overly salty. Reviews indicate it can be good when customized with add‑ins and longer cook times, yet recurring critiques cite small portions and inconsistent seasoning versus traditional ramen, making immi a thoughtful alternative rather than a universal crowd‑pleaser.

  • These noodles fell short of my expectations. They had an odd rubbery texture and wouldn’t soften no matter how long I cooked it. The noodles don’t soak up flavor and broth the way regular noodles do. The sauce packet just was not good. I don’t recommend.

  • I did not enjoy this too much. The noodles are quite rubbery, even after cooking for ten minutes, and hard and the spices are not very flavored.

  • The grossest thing I have eaten. I disputed it because they decevinly squeezed vol 2 in my order that I didn't want (watch out when checking out). I tried to cancel the whole order right away. Website said you could cancel within 6 hrs of placing order. They never returned any of my pleads. I disputed it with PayPal for the poor customer service. They only returned vol 2, and that was pulling teeth. I decided to taste it, and sure enough, they tasted like rubber bands. Awful!!!! I searched for reviews and people were saying it had that awful rubbery like taste and for $6 + $ it was not worth it. I wish I would have read reviews before buying this garbage. Don't buy this!

  • Update March 29, 2024: Immi reached out to me about my review with an offer to try their new cup ramen which is made with pea protein. After I tried the creamy "chicken" flavor I was pleasantly surprised that there was a big difference the noodles did not taste, nor have the texture of a rubber band. The broth was also drinkable. The 18g of protein was a plus too. I tried the plant based ramen of Spicy "beef" Black Garlic "Chicken" and Tom Yum "Shrimp" the smell wasn't appetizing for any of the flavors, but I still tried it anyway. The texture was so rubbery, I could not eat more than one bite. It was a major disappointment, since I love ramen and enjoy trying new foods, but this was a fail all around.

  • I really want to like this, but the texture of the noodles is kind of strange and the flavor is not the best. I tried the mixed pack.

  • I really liked the noodle itself- texture was fine at the 8min "soft" recommended cooking time. I could not drink most of the broth. It was quite spicy for me even though there was no indication of this on the package. (I tried the shrimp flavor for this reason!) There was very little depth to the flavor of the broth, so perhaps it was just too much pepper; however, the ingredients just say "spices" so I cannot clarify this. If they sold just the noodle, I'd load up my pantry with this much healthier ramen noodle option amd make my own broths. But I probably won't buy it again as a soup.

  • A few problems with this company, first of all they use flashy ads to make it look like they are selling ramen. It’s not ramen, it looks like noodles but tastes like cardboard. Secondly they sent me the wrong packs and instead of refunding me my money, stopped responding to me and lied to my bank and are fighting the chargeback. There are other instances of them fighting other consumers for sending wrong counts etc as well. Overall I wouldn’t buy anything from them again.

  • The noodles, supposedly an improved version of the original, was far from smooth, stick to each other, very small portion & even after boiling long enough for soft noodle fans, still very rough texture. I wish the texture will be improoved as well as the potion size. I would love to have some real animal proteins as Keto Carnivore.

  • I was excited about trying Immi ramen because I love ramen. I lived in Japan for 10 years, and even after returning to the US, I continue to eat ramen all the time. This was even more appealing to my Japanese wife, because her doctor had recently instructed her to get more fiber and protein. Immi ramen seemed to be the answer! Unfortunately, the flavor is horrible. I tried two of their flavors (Black Garlic "Chicken" and spicy "Beef"). It doesn't matter what the flavor is, because the main problem are the noodles. They tasted like rubber bands (and why do they put "chicken" and "beef" in quotes anyway?) There is no way around that. Anyone who says these are awesome must not have a pallet or they work for the company. These noodles need to be cooked longer than usual. Their instructions recommend 8 minutes for chewy and 10 minutes for soft. I tried both. I wanted to make sure that the flavor was not awful just because of how long I cooked it. It did not matter. They were horrible either way. It's best to avoid this culinary rubber band disaster. I made my kids try them just to see their faces cringe.

  • I broke down and purchased these. They took over a week to get to Texas and that is a drawback. However, I cooked the beef flavor up. The noodle texture is rough for sure between a soba noodle for looks but much like a grain by feel. The broth packet went down well. Its not as toxic as the original ramen and tastes good and mild with the noodles. I added a soft poached egg and some chili lime seaweed. It went well with those. If the shipping improves I would keep a few in the pantry but not subscribing just yet. Great start!

  • I was super excited to try these soups even with the price $$, hoping a better alternative then then the Top Ramen OH BOY was I wrong I read the instructions cooked it accordingly I did the black garlic chicken, my goodness it tasted like flavored cardboard. I don’t know it’s hard to explain. I was hoping these soups would of blown my mind, but it was the opposite so I went ahead and tried the next pack and the next pack after that which was the shrimp and the beef, to say is that I couldn’t even finish the soups I had to throw it away money thrown away . I am now cooking top Ramen, chicken, flavored soup, which is are my favorite. Very very disappointing.

  • I recently purchased two packs of Immi noodles from Sprouts, priced at $5.99 each. One is Tom Yum Shrimp flavor and the other one is Black Garlic Chicken. Excited to try them, I eagerly dug in, only to be disappointed after the first bite. The noodles had a rubbery and sandy texture that left much to be desired. While the Tom Yum soup managed to earn an ‘okay’ rating, the overall experience failed to captivate my taste buds. Regrettably, despite being a vegan, I found nothing particularly appealing about these plant-based noodles, as they didn’t align with my personal preferences. Consequently, I plan to return the Black Garlic Chicken flavor, as the noodles are a significant issue for me, making it an impractical choice for consumption.

  • I'm a ramen-lover who's been spoiled by having access to an assortment of ramen in Tokyo for many years; and my partner and I have been known to make a bowl of ramen for breakfast 2-3x/week. When my partner told me about immi, meant to be low-carb, plant-based, and with much lower sodium (my partner is pre-hypertensive and it runs in the family so we're very careful), I jumped at the opportunity to try it out! I bought 2 packs of each flavor available at Whole Foods (Black Garlic "Chicken", Spicy Beef, and Tom Yum Shrimp), so that we could each try a pack, and learn which flavors we each preferred. We started with the Black Garlic "Chicken" and followed the cooking instructions, adding freeze-dried shitake mushrooms because it's how we do it. While the noodles were boiling, we prepared our ramen egg in the Insta-pot as well, and when the noodles were ready, we dished out, adding chili oil and scallions. At the first taste of the ramen, I spit it back it out immediately. My partner made it through the first bite, and finished the bowl, but I couldn't eat more than 3 bites before giving up. The noodles tasted undercooked with a strange rubbery texture (which I realize is because the ramen is made from plant protein), and tasted nothing like the broth, and instead tasted like old, stinky mushrooms. I thought the noodles hadn't absorbed the flavor of the soup broth because we hadn't cooked it long enough (since it was still tough and rubbery), but after cooking the other packs, we realized that no matter how long we cooked the ramen, it would never absorb the broth because of the texture. Unfortunately, I would not recommend immi and would never wish it on my worst enemy. Granted, my taste buds could just be strange, but my partner tested each pack with me, and neither of us were able to enjoy our food. My partner ate all the packs I bought though because each pack cost about $6.50, even though I kept giving up after 2-3 bites. Although I understand and believe in their mission, and desperatly wanted a different experience, I believe more research and testing needs to be done before immi's ramen will get close to tasting like ramen.

  • My order says variety pack for $39.00 but I was charged 99 dollars and I only received one flavor spicy beef and I've been emailing for a refund of some sort bit I can't get ahold of anyone I'm very disappointed.

  • I was so disappointed in this product. At $6 for one package at Whole Foods, I couldn’t believe how rubbery and flavorless this ramen tasted.

  • These noodles taste awful. I really hoped they would be good because them are healthier but they are disgusting!

  • I have just finished my first box of 6 (Chicken, Beef, Tom Yum) While i understand why people have issues with the flavor that is because you can't really call it "Ramen Noodles" wrong ingredients. This is a soup with ramen-esque noodles made from plants. I see no issues with it when you look at it that way, the flavor packs are a little less than mouth watering but the smell is fantastic and you can easily just add some green onions. I add just a little Japanese Dashi to mine during boiling, adds a bit more salt but really kicks (it is fish based though) The price point is high for ramen but pretty on par for a lot of soups i have bought lately.

  • Noodles taste like cardboard. Broth is doable if I add more spices and seasoning. Not worth the money. I would rather make my own broth and add rice noodles, veggies, and quinoa for more protein. Worst thing is I can’t get my kids to eat it.

  • I absolutely do not recommend this product. The texture of the noodles was very weird, and there was very little flavor. This ramen wouldn’t be worth it at $1 a package, but at this price point it’s nearly criminal. Really awful. We’ll see if their customer service responds to my complaint and refund request…..
