I got the customized shampoo and conditioner and just didn’t think it was anything special for the price you pay. It didn’t really do anything for my waves/curls. The peach scent was phenomenal though.

I love that you can customize your shampoo and conditioner. They have amazing scents and I think my hair has been enjoying these products.

Love the products

I love my formula, but it is a pain to deal with the subscription aspect to the point that I almost don’t want to restock when I run out. I wish there were an option to make restocks much farther out than you can. When I last ordered you could only space them out 6 months. I don’t do daily hair washing and I bought the big bottles, so I don’t need it more frequently than that.

I really love the Wavy shampoo + conditioners, especially with the added boosters. One of the best smelling hair products ever!

Absolutely do not ever put this product on your head. I experienced extremely horrible hair loss, breakage/damage, scalp irritation as well as scalp breakouts from this brand. Seriously, read all reviews before thinking of trying these products.

Cool packaging, REALLY cool and unique concept, but it missed the damn mark! For a product that should help my greasy hair, IT SHOULD NOT MAKE MY HAIR MORE GREASY! UGH! So, thats my issue with it.

totally not worth it. gimmicky and expensive. doesn't cater well to textured, curly, and wavy hair patterns.

The online process to customize the shampoo was really fun, but I didn't find it to be worth the price. It was just fine, but I want something better than OK for my hair.

I have curly hair and the products designed for curly hair did not do anything for me.

I bought function of beauty at target, and I love that you can customize your shampoo and conditioner. I have overprocessed hair and adding the deep treatment has helped out my hair so much. I definitely recommend this product.

I have tried both the custom online order version as well as the Target version. Honestly I love the concept and it does help a bit for my hair. I had an issue with the custom ordered one but that was my fault - I didn’t realize yet that I have an allergy to lavender and got it lavender scented. But aside from that I liked what it did for my hair. The Target version is peach scented and while it is less custom, it is still customizable which I like a lot. I get the curly shampoo and conditioner and add anti-frizz to it and my hair is less frizzy and takes a little longer to get greasy. I also have very thin, fine hair so I can’t use heavy products and this works well for me.

I purchased their target line for curly hair as I loved the customization I could do! I was left disappointed with how my hair felt and did not see or feel a difference, and felt like it dried my hair out.

I tried Function of Beauty for several months and I was disappointed with the results. The first customized formula I received caused my hair to fall out in large clumps. After informing the company, they reformulated and sent me a new product. While this second formula showed some improvement, it was not enough for me to continue using the product. I was expecting better results from a brand that offers customized products, but unfortunately, my experience was not what I had hoped for.

Maybe I chose the wrong formula for my hair but this shampoo and conditioner combo make my hair dull and lifeless. I have very thick, course, and semi-wavy hair and these products weighed my hair down so bad I had to wash it again the next day(I usually only hair wash about twice a week).

Love the concept of customized hair care (in theory) but Function of Beauty's execution missed the mark for me. Without affiliate / influencer promo codes, FOB's prices are similar to upscale brands yet FOB's products fail to deliver on the aspects of hair care that users want to address. The scents are also extremely overpowering (even when customized to the most minimal level of fragrance).

The experience I had with Function of Beauty was a couple of years ago, so I want to disclose that I am not sure if the quality has changed in two years. I was inspired by a Youtuber to buy shampoo and conditioner from Function of Beauty. I filled out the survey and was sooo excited to get them in the mail. Unfortunately, once it came and I tried it, I hated it. My hair looked greasy and oily right out of the shower. The smell was good but that was about it. I remember contacting customer service about how it left my hair and they apologized but wouldn't exchange the product. I threw it away after 3 uses.
