We love our fi collar! Really appreciate the peace of mind it gives us with our sweet Goldendoodle. Thankfully have not needed it in an emergency scenario but always enjoy the data it shares about my dog’s steps and rest!

Fi earns mixed reviews: the collar often delivers accurate GPS tracking, robust step and sleep insights, and real peace of mind, but reliability and usability issues undercut confidence. Reviews praise durable hardware, motivating activity rankings, and strong battery life for some, while citing delayed/geofencing alerts, bulky fit for smaller dogs, app upselling and limited metrics, water-resistance failures, frequent connectivity glitches, and inconsistent tracking accuracy.

I got the Fi collar when the brand was running a promotion and I'm glad I did! It's really helpful to know how many steps my dog gets in to see if she'll need more to be tired at the end of the day. I like the GPS tracker too. I don't use the discover or rank that much personally since my dog is a mix and it's hard to know exactly what is standard for her breeds. Overall I've been very happy with my Fi experience.

Once you have the collar set up, the app really communicates upgrading the GPS subscription a lot. Without it there's not a lot of GPS functionality. I'd suggest buying that to go with the collar when you order the collar so it doesn't feel like it's popping up when you check the app. Also I'd love a plain red collar color option on the site.

Ended up getting the Fi Collar for my dog after a horrible experience with one of our sitters. Our dog took to the collar immediately (we were too lazy to try to jimmy the tracking to the existing collar) and the tracking system has been a lifesaver. It's given us peace of mind and the tracking subscription makes it easy to manage.

I really like the hardware itself -- seems pretty durable, my dog doesn't mind wearing it at all, and it looks pretty good (we have the pink model). I do think the app has a lot of room for improvement; there's a fair amount of upselling going on in a way that reminds me a bit of Strava. And the community itself isn't very valuable to me right now. As an activity counter/step-tracker and for generally knowing where our dog is, however, I'm quite content.

The app is gamified to show you how your dog ranks locally in steps, but otherwise there isn't much reason for me to use it right now.
