Love this detergent! Clean and smells good
8mo ago
I’ve been using Dirty Labs Signature scent laundry detergent along with the scent oil, and I am genuinely impressed. I love that the formula is non-toxic and safe for my family, which gives me peace of mind. But what really surprised me is how amazing it smells. The scent is clean, modern, and not overpowering, just a beautiful, subtle freshness that lasts. My clothes feel clean, soft, and cared for without any harsh chemicals. It’s the perfect blend of performance and thoughtful ingredients.

Thrilled about this laundry product: the detergent itself works very, very well. Adding the laundry booster whitened sheets (at standard temperatures), and towels looked as if they’d been through a ‘stripping’. I love the scent of the detergent but it doesn’t survive the addition of the booster. The fragrance to add to dryer balls is a little too expensive. Erlenmyer flask nice but not strictly necessary. Silicone measuring beaker very useful, but perhaps it could be offered for free with a certain quantity of an order?

I am new to this brand and my first impression is that it’s a great alternative to the big brand laundry detergents. I am super sensation to scents and soaps and I can already notice a difference after washing my sheets one. I suggest giving this brand a try!

Dirty Labs is one of those brands I’ve had my eye on for a while. A few years ago, I actually made a long list of laundry detergents I wanted to test (literally over 15!! My friends were on the edge of their seats waiting for another laundry assessment to drop) and Dirty Labs was on it. I finally tried it to see if it could top my current favorite, and honestly, it impressed me! The brand stands out for being ingredient-conscious and non-toxic, but what really drew me in were the details. Their packaging is made from recyclable aluminum bottles (plus refill options), which feels thoughtful without being performative. They also use their own proprietary Phytolase® enzyme technology, which supposedly targets stains and odors while still being gentle on skin and fabrics. And (kinda most of all) I appreciated that they’re certified by the National Eczema Association. I don’t have eczema, but since I do have rosacea, I’ve noticed eczema-friendly products often work well for me too. I tried two detergents: Signature and Murasaki. The Signature scent is easily my favorite. It smells clean but dimensional, like soap (def soapy) with warmth and grounding and a bit of sweet. The bergamot gives it a bright lift, the magnolia adds a soft sweetness, and the cedar grounds everything without feeling heavy or musty (aka not too much cedar). It’s the kind of scent that feels like fresh laundry from a fancy boutique hotel where you’re kinda picking up on something that smells different and unique. Murasaki, on the other hand, leans floral and green. I mostly pick up the jasmine and the earthy vetiver, not so much the matcha. It’s still pleasant, just a bit more aromatic than what I usually want my laundry to smell like. I would pass on this one for myself. Both formulas are concentrated, which I love. A little really goes a long way, and my set came with a small silicone dispenser that makes it easy to measure out the right amount. The detergents left my clothes and sheets clean, soft, and lightly scented without any residue. The smell actually lingered on my bedding in the best way, fresh, not overpowering. Overall, Dirty Labs feels like a brand that truly balances clean science with sensory experience. I’ll definitely keep using the Signature and might test their stain performance next, but I’m already pretty sold on the formula. I don’t think it tops my favorite smelling detergent at this time, but I think this one is up there.

I love this!! I was searching for a new detergent and I think I'll stick wit this one for a while. I'm so impressed by how little soap you actually need to clean your clothes, and the smell is wonderful (even with that little dose). I only wish the little silicon measuring cup that comes with it had some way of attaching to the bottle.

As an environmentalist, I love the mindset of this brand. The aluminum packaging is great, the detergent is very effective even on activewear and funky smelling clothes. My only issue is that it’s a bit expensive for what it is and the measuring cup gets sticky and isn’t very precise unless you rinse it out after each use. I love the packaging for the powdered bleach alternative and refill it often. I do liquify it a bit in hot water before adding it to my front load wash so that it dissolves more readily. It’s pretty standard for the kind of whitener that it is so it’s pricey for what you get. I would probably subscribe to the laundry detergent if it were more comparable to what I can get in the grocery store but it was good to try out.

Love the subtle scent and the impressive cleaning power. To avoid the problem of drips of detergent running down the outside of the bottle, be sure to pour slowly and then rotate the bottle as the detergent nears the fill line.

I've used this detergent for about a year now. I like how compact it is and how little I have to use, I have a small laundry space and prefer how little space it takes up. It does a great job of cleaning and keeping our workout clothes smelling fresh.
