Reviews mention

  • Hilarious, high-energy gameplay
  • Simple, accessible ruleset
  • Engaging, social experience
  • Abundant, creative expansions
  • Explicit, polarizing content
  • Diminishing shock value
  • Occasionally outdated references
  • Audience-dependent enjoyment

Cards Against Humanity wins big in reviews for delivering uproarious, easy-to-learn party play that sparks belly laughs, quick bonding, and late-night chaos—especially with larger groups and expansion packs—so yes, it works. Reviews also flag clear drawbacks: humor can be crass/NSFW and alienating for sensitive or mixed-age crowds, cards lose shock value with repetition, and some prompts feel dated or hard to play with certain audiences.

  • Such a fun game. My family never gets sick of it. We are always laughing.

  • Great game, very simple, good as a drinking game. A classic.

  • This game is a riot! You never know what to expect. It can get a little raunchy so maybe don't play it with strict parents or younger kids.

  • If there's still anyone out there who isn't aware of this brand, get on it! I loved the game the first time I played it with adults, but during Covid, they came out with a family-friendly version and provided it for free--you just had to print it out. Since then, I've purchased a glow-in-the-dark family set as well as some additional packs. I can honestly say that when my family of four plays the family version (2 adults, 2 teenagers), we spend the whole time laughing. And I love a company that doesn't take itself too seriously.

  • This game is the best! I love playing it with friends. The cards have super funny and random and provocative things on them that are actually hilarious

  • I love this game! It’s the perfect activity at a party. I’m always excited to see it show up. Not one you’d want to do with little kids or your parents!

  • Classic. This game doesn't get its reputation for nothing. All of the expansion packs are added fun too. And, all the spinoffs CAH has inspired a testament to it. Getting the original is a great way to support the creativity that inspired it all....and perhaps inspire that power to creat something else fun and of impact :)

  • I know this is a pretty popular "adult" game. And I'm all for adult party games...but this was just wasn't my cup of tea.

  • The whole schtick is that it is risqué, which is fine but gets old pretty quickly.

  • Cards against humanity is such a fun game to pull out while friends are over and it always livens up a happy hour!

  • Cards Against Humanity is a fun, funny game to play with friends. Some find it crass but I think that's what makes it so interesting. Cards Against Humanity is one of my favorite card games.

  • Really fun game although it can get boring after sometime

  • Best game ever!!! Safe to say you'll pee your pants laughing with friends. Great way to bond with people really easily. Probably not the game for Thanksgiving with your Grandma.

  • This game is staple at my house. It's a great game when you're trying to have a fun ice breaker.

  • I think the game is fun, but also overrated these days. There's too many expansion pack options and its like they're trying too hard.

  • Classic. Hilarious. Occasionally offensive.

  • These are great. A fun party game for grownups. Warning: don't let your young kids discover them. Additional warning: don't let your teens rediscover them 10 years later. 😳
