Reviews mention

  • Chic magnetic organization system
  • Customizable labels and colors
  • Leak-resistant, travel-friendly design
  • Sustainable recycled-plastic construction
  • Small internal storage capacity
  • Heavier-than-expected containers
  • Occasional cracking durability issues
  • Awkward dispensing for liquids

Cadence earns mixed-to-positive reviews: the magnetic, leak-resistant, customizable capsules streamline packing and look chic, but size, weight, and durability issues temper enthusiasm. Reviews praise organization, aesthetics, sustainability, and strong magnets for tidy travel; drawbacks include small internal capacity for liquids like shampoo, occasional leakage, hard-to-open lids when wet, heavier build, weak magnet linkage at times, and reports of cracking over months of use.

  • I think these capsules do exactly what they are expected to do and are a great addition to my travel kit! They are pretty small, but most of my trips are long weekends, so its the perfect amount of product for just that. If you require more, I recommend looking into their new bigger sized capsules! I haven't had any issues with spilling, and I love using them for jewelry because they are magnetic. Overall, I would recommend, but they are a bit expensive for the product category, so that is important to note.

  • I really, really love the Cadence capsules I bought through Thingdrop, but only at the (very heavily) discounted price I paid for them. Pros: The online shopping experience was great - it was super fun to choose the colors and labels for my capsules. Super functional! I've taken these on a few trips now and they've been great - totally leak-proof. The size works perfectly for me for a 1 week trip, but I don't use a ton of product at a time (thin hair girlie). Love the look of them, too! Cons: COST - in my opinion these are simply way to expensive for what you're getting. I couldn't recommend these just based on the price. A fun, frivolous gift for a friend who loves to travel, but not something I would ever buy myself at full price. As other reviews mention, the magnets aren't super strong. This makes it difficult to pick up the capsules when they're connected- they will sometimes just fall apart.

  • I like traveling with these. The magnetism is a really smart touch. I think the uniform sizing is cute aesthetically, but realistically, the # of days worth of a product you can get varies greatly from product to product, so I think having one size is really limiting. I took these to Mexico City for 4 days, and it was enough for my leave-in conditioner, medicine, and cleanser, but wasn't enough for moisturizer and spf. It's also more than I would spend on something like this.

  • I've been wanting to try this brand for awhile and was really happy that it came up as a Thingdrop. I had to wait awhile to review it until I was able to use it on a trip. The current capacity of these bottles won't be able to replace all the bottles you usually carry with you on a trip. For example, I went on a ten-day trip and carried travel-sized bottles of body lotion and shampoo. The things I did use my Cadence containers were for things like pills, jewelry, curl cream, and thick moisturizer (which I don't use everyday, only when my face is particularly dry). The containers being magnetic makes it really easy to make sure you have everything packed, which is not the case if I have 6 individual bottles of lotion and serums. I will say it's harder to put more liquid-y items (like hair oil) in these.

This is definitely a small luxury item, and you do have to think very carefully about what you will use them for when you're first making you labels and packing for a trip, but they have made my travels significantly easier.

  • The product is well made and super fun to build. Customer service lacks a little bit with issues with an order. The concept is amazing, but I’m not sure it’s worth the full price.

  • My dad bought these for me for Christmas and I have to say they were great on my last trip. I wish they were a touch bigger, because you can only get maybe 5-7 days worth of product in them but overall I really liked that they closed securely, fit together nicely and were easy to keep track of. I used them for mostly hair and body products and will continue using them!

  • I really love the concept— truly what I’ve needed. The colors and customizations are awesome, too. However, I do think there are a few tweaks that could be made.

For me, personally, the size is definitely not enough for some products, like conditioner, for more than like a weekend. I wish they had some size options. I also just don’t find them to be as leakproof as advertised. Maybe something about the way the lip is designed but product tends to collect around there and when squeezing the lid on, all of that comes out. After that, it probably is leak proof but I always find myself having to wipe off that excess product and washing the exterior clear of it.

  • Looks just as the pictures, make it easy to compartmentalize things.

Fast shipping, good for eye creams.

  • I had been eyeing these canisters for a while and was so excited to finally try! I travel frequently for relatively quick trips and needed some quick reusable/refillable containers to throw in a bag and not worry if they would spill, leak, or explode. I ordered the terracotta color pack of six with some of the popular tile labels. They came in about 10 days and have been wonderful! The color is great. They are lightweight and hold a reasonable amount of liquids/creams for about one week. I have not yet tested how many vitamins would fit inside, but I will probably stick to a larger pill case. They are magnetic to each other, the lid is magnetic to the side of the canister when not screwed on, and the label tile is magnetic to the top. The magnet is not strong enough to hold them together freely in my bag, but I still put them in my favorite toiletry bag. Overall, I think they are great, fun, and simply for what my travel lifestyle is like!

    Feedback

I would have liked for the canisters to be slightly larger to hold enough product for closer to two weeks. There is also an added cost to personalize tile labels, and that price feels a little steep.

  • Been using the capsules for a year or so and I love them so much. I keep two in my purse all the time (hair product for touch ups and some medication I need) and they're the best. Then, I have a full system that I use on trips.

Wish there were larger sizes! I use a lot of certain products.

  • Perfect for week long trips and hold more than you'd think. The quality is super high - I've kept 3 capsules in my toiletries bag for a year now and they're still going strong.

  • I like these containers overall, but had a minor issue with spillage.

    Feedback

I put makeup remover (liquid) in one of the containers + perhaps I did not close it tightly enough, but there was some spillage. I think these containers are best used for jewelry, lotions, etc. and not for liquids.

  • Purchased this for a work trip. I like the modular labels. The size prevented me from over packing. Love love love that they take the product back at the end of life for recycling. The capsules were perfect for a week of travel.

The plastic is smooth and I find it hard to grip the lid. Its perfect for some liquids but not others. Felt like I used too much oil without a dropper.

  • I just took these on my first trip post-pandemic, and they worked but weren't exceptional. Maybe I need to use them differently, but they were hard to clean and not so different from a plastic bottle.

  • These are literally the type of things where you scratch your head asking yourself "why didn't I think of this?" These are SO genius for anyone planning to travel or who has an on-the-go lifestyle. I use them in my gym bag, weekend bag and have a set for myself, my son, and my husband. I'm officially obsessed. They are also made from recycled ocean bound plastic so DOUBLE WIN!!!

Can't wait for the larger size to come out!!

  • I love the capsules! I have the set of three medium ones and I use them all the time. I use one for my rings and earrings, one for a night of vitamins, and the third for advil or antacids. The magnet makes them easier to use.

  • Not the best solution for traveling. At the price point, I expect these to be completely leak proof, which they aren't. But I do find them useful for storing things like petroleum jelly from a big tub to a travel size for my purse. If you're looking for a travel system for your liquids, I'd skip these. If you need a small container for something in your purse, these may be helpful, but probably not the first thing I'd recommend.

  • Beyond disappointed in these. Invested in them a few years ago for travel and was so stoked to finally have a sustainable option for traveling with my toiletries. After a few uses, they started cracking on the inside. Messaged customer service and let them know and they were kind enough to send me a whole new set and took back the original to examine. Within less than 5 uses, my new set completely started cracking and falling apart. I follow all care instructions, gently hand wash these, etc. and they didn’t last as long as ones I could get from the dollar store. Purchased these thinking I’d have a long term and sustainable item because they literally have advertisements of them running over them with a car and yet it’s one of the worst purchases I have ever made. I loved everything about the brands concept and even followed the founder but this was just a massive flop and waste for me ):

  • Really like Cadence. I have both the original sized capsules and their new line. Wish they were a little more affordable but definitely recommend them. I have them in 3 different colors and all of their offered sizes.
