Bowlcut is a new line of all-natural Asian American sauces founded by kids of Chinese restaurant owners. The name is a playful nod to the iconic '80's haircut — Bowlcut offers an initial trio of sauces: Char Siu, Chili Crisp, Spicy Chili Crisp—with plans to unveil additional sauces and condiments in the future. Founders Crystal Ung, Adrian Ng and Will Kang dreamt up the concept for Bowlcut during the peak of the pandemic and height of AAPI hate crimes. For Crystal and Adrian, who grew up in their parent’s small-town restaurants, they saw firsthand how food can unite people and bridge cultures. With the help of their parent’s recipes, they decided to launch a food brand dedicated to the familiar flavors they grew up eating—with the goal of helping to re-shape the narrative by expanding the Asian American food category. Bowlcut sauces are made small-batch in the US, using purposeful ingredients and no artificial additives. Every ingredient has been deliberated and deliberately chosen with your health and palate in mind.
