Reviews mention

  • Protein-rich pasta alternative
  • Surprisingly authentic texture
  • Flavorful frozen pizzas
  • Kid-approved crowdpleasers
  • Inconsistent noodle integrity
  • Sticky, mushy overcooking risk
  • Noticeable chickpea aftertaste
  • Clumpy long-cut spaghetti

Banza earns strong reviews as a high‑protein, gluten‑free swap that often tastes and chews close to traditional pasta and even delivers standout frozen pizzas, while many note it can overcook quickly, turn mushy or sticky, and some cuts feel fragile. Reviews of Banza praise the satisfying, protein‑dense pasta, kid‑friendly appeal, and tasty mac & cheese (notably White Cheddar), but flag inconsistent texture across shapes, occasional bitter/chickpea aftertaste, and spaghetti/linguine that clump or stay too firm.

  • I've never been steered wrong with Banza products. As someone who is heal conscious and gluten intolerant, Banza is the best! It tastes just like "normal" pasta and pizza without the guilt as it is packed full of protein and fiber leaving you feeling full and satisfied while not feeling like you're eating bad. Banza products are used weekly in my house and my husband didn't even notice the switch like he has with other healthier alternatives in the past.

  • Banza has become a stable in my pantry. When I’m trying to get more protein in my diet but don’t want to necessarily eat more animal products I love that I can get a macro friendly meal that is also tasty. I wish they didn’t have gums in the pasta but it is still a much cleaner ingredient list than most of what’s on the market. I’ve tried their pizza once and it was tasty, need to try more!

  • Love their chick pea pasta. I will stock up on these boxes for quick dinners and they taste great!

  • I eat their products almost every day! It’s a super good / easy way to get extra protein in especially if you don’t eat meat or dairy.

  • Like the mission and goal of the company. The pasta itself is good but i can’t really get over the texture - it’s just not as chewy and structured as regular pasta. If I slightly overcook it, basta disintegrates in my mouth or when I stir in sauce/pesto or add to a salad. Love that it’s high in protein so good alternative for when I’m cooking healthy.

  • Pasta-specific: If you enjoy whole wheat pasta you will probably be fine with the general texture of the Banza chickpea pastas. Probably the biggest thing to note is the bite/chew of the cooked pasta, it won't ever be like the "regular" stuff but it's a great higher protein option!

  • Like their chickpea pasta. A healthy alternative that tastes pretty similar to regular pasta. It does make me bloated though, probably due to the higher fiber content. You win some, you lose some.

  • I’m a huge banza fan! It’s a distinct taste that’s different from typical pasta, but I thoroughly enjoy it. I particularly like banza for pasta salads and lemon-based pasta dishes. The pasta has a firmness about it, which is great bc I enjoy Al dente pasta.

  • I absolutely love this brand. While other brands bother my stomach, I feel like I am fueling my body without the bloating when I eat Banza products. I can't get enough!

  • One of my absolute FAVORITE food brands! Love their chickpea pasta and pizza. I love using their pasta to make vegan/vegetarian "hamburger helper". I used to buy this brand weekly for about a year!

  • The pizzas were delicious!

  • The pasta has a slightly different taste and texture compared to traditional pasta, but is still tasty and satisfying. Banza is a great option for anyone looking for a healthier pasta alternative without sacrificing taste or texture.

  • Definitely a healthier alternative to pasta! I recently tried the Banza pasta that was made from Chickpeas for a healthier alternative to traditional pasta. I am all for the health benefits, however I am not the biggest fan of the taste and wish that the brand offered some type of pasta that tasted similar to traditional pasta. I love what the brand is trying to do, however, and I think that the more vegan options society has, the increased our quality of life will be. Excited to see what the brand comes out with in the future.

  • I recently tried Banza's chickpea pasta and was pleasantly surprised by how good it tasted. I appreciated that it had a similar texture and flavor to traditional pasta, but with the added benefit of being packed with protein thanks to the use of chickpeas as the main ingredient. The pasta cooked evenly and held up well, even after being reheated as leftovers. I also appreciated that the brand offers a variety of pasta shapes, which makes it easy to substitute Banza pasta in any recipe. Overall, I was very impressed with the taste and texture of Banza's chickpea pasta and will definitely be purchasing it again in the future.

While my experience with Banza's chickpea pasta was very positive overall, there are a few areas where I believe the brand could improve to make their product even better. First, while I appreciated the variety of pasta shapes available, I would love to see even more variety in terms of flavors and seasonings. While the pasta tasted great on its own, adding some additional flavor options could make it even more versatile and appealing to a wider range of consumers. Second, while the brand's commitment to using chickpeas as the main ingredient is admirable, the higher cost of the pasta may be a barrier for some consumers. While I believe that the added protein and nutritional benefits are worth the cost, it may be difficult for some consumers to justify the higher price point compared to traditional pasta. Finally, while the brand's packaging is eye-catching and modern, it may not be the most sustainable option. I would love to see the brand explore more eco-friendly packaging options in the future, such as using recyclable or compostable materials. Overall, my experience with Banza's chickpea pasta was very positive, and I appreciate the brand's commitment to using healthy, protein-packed ingredients. However, there are a few areas where the brand could improve to make their product even more appealing to a wider range of consumers.

  • I wasn't a huge fan of the taste of the pasta because the texture is harder than what I would like in normal pasta but its maybe worth it for the health benefits. A little more pricey than I personally would like for the taste but a good healthy option.

Mimic the texture of normal pasta would be nice - I like pasta because its soft, I think the chickpea makes it less like the texture I would like. Very al dente maybe.

  • Banza products, give me the taste of what I’m looking for in a pizza or pasta without giving me the gluten that is within it. The products are so tasty. I am excited when they come out with a new product.

  • We don't have this line in Canada so you know I'm stocking up on the Banza Mac & Cheese at Target whenever I'm crossing the border. Mac and Cheese is like a better KD overall but then throw in there that's made from chickpeas - it's healthy so it's delicious. Would love to try more of the line to give more of my insights on the pizza dough but the pasta and mac and cheese is really a win.

  • Wow! I love Banza. The pasta is great for getting my protein in after a good workout, and it is super yummy! I have tried all of their products, and I have zero complaints!

The foam when you boil the water is INSANE. Also if you even over-cook it by a little, it turns into mush.
