Reviews mention

  • Protein-rich pasta alternative
  • Surprisingly authentic texture
  • Flavorful frozen pizzas
  • Kid-approved crowdpleasers
  • Inconsistent noodle integrity
  • Sticky, mushy overcooking risk
  • Noticeable chickpea aftertaste
  • Clumpy long-cut spaghetti

Banza earns strong reviews as a high‑protein, gluten‑free swap that often tastes and chews close to traditional pasta and even delivers standout frozen pizzas, while many note it can overcook quickly, turn mushy or sticky, and some cuts feel fragile. Reviews of Banza praise the satisfying, protein‑dense pasta, kid‑friendly appeal, and tasty mac & cheese (notably White Cheddar), but flag inconsistent texture across shapes, occasional bitter/chickpea aftertaste, and spaghetti/linguine that clump or stay too firm.

  • My favorite pasta brand. The Mac and Cheese is to die for.

  • This is as close to a "real" pasta as it gets! Kiddos loved it and had no idea it was a healthy, plant based option to actual pasta.

  • As someone who can't handle wheat but loves pasta, Banza is a great alternative! You can definitely kind of taste the chickpea flavor, but I personally like it! It's more of it's own thing than a one for one pasta replacement, but it's filling and delicious. Highly recommend and I like the variety of shapes!

  • Great replacement for gluten products, but doesn't always serve the same end use. Love for the utility and unique taste!

  • Delicious and healthy products! I especially love the frozen pizza - a great treat that is stil nutritious.

  • Such a great high protein alternative to gluten free pasta. Since finding out celiac I have been looking for a good protein pasta alternative. This one is IT!!!! It holds up well and clings to all sauces the same way that regular pasta does. Not only that, they make a great mac and cheese.

  • Pasta is my weakness 😭 When I use this I don’t feel as guilt in the indulgence! Great taste + texture!

  • I have been using these since I first bought them and enjoy them a lot. I am not against regular pasta or rice but I like the amount of protein that you can get from these. You have to cook them exactly right or they could turn out too mushy but taste good if you do it well.

  • Great healthy alternative for pasta! Would try again.

  • I bought the rotini after trying a sample and it was delicious. I didn't have high hopes as some healthy pastas fall short on flavor and texture but this was great. I bought two boxes and my kids love it as well and don't know they're eating a healthier version of one of their favorite foods.

  • Banza is the best! Super healthy and great replacement for categories from pasta to waffles. Love how innovative they have been and can’t wait to see what else they come up with. Only complaint is ready to eat (e.g., waffles and pizza crust) tend to be a little dry

  • Best pasta substitute on the market. The closest I have found texture and taste wise.

  • I love banza! I love that it’s chickpeas and high protein, my husband can’t even tell the difference! And he is always complaining when I get other gluten free alternatives! I also love their easy Mac and cheese!

  • Not to be dramatic but Banza was one of the highlights of my year. As someone with a gluten sensitivity who was also trying to up their protein... these were the ultimate game changer. I'm lazy in the kitchen and when I need a quick meal that ACTUALLY keeps me full I literally just take some banza pasta and add like a random cheese or butter or sauce and yes I eat like a 5 year old but it works and it doesn't have a crazy off putting chickpea taste. And the MAC AND CHEESE???? Everything. I desperately need to try the pizza though so once I get my hands on that I'll let you know :-D

  • I’m a pasta lover…but I don’t love this pasta. The consistency is weird and it tastes kind of chalky. The health benefits are great but I would rather just not eat pasta then have it taste weird

  • I recently tried Banza chickpea pasta and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised! I was a bit skeptical about how it would taste since it's made from chickpeas, but it was delicious. The texture was slightly different than regular pasta, but not in a bad way. It had a nice bite to it and didn't get mushy like some gluten-free pastas tend to do. Plus, it's packed with protein and fiber which is a great added bonus. I would definitely recommend giving it a try if you're looking for a healthier pasta alternative.

  • I wanted to try chickpea pasta as a way to incorporate more beans into my meals. I like that it’s higher in protein and fiber, but cooking the pasta well is a bit tricky. You have to learn to work with it a bit! It does not reheat very well. My recommendation would be to use this in recipes that don’t require the cooked pasta to be mixed much (mixing will mush the pasta up). The flavor is relatively mild and works well with richer sauces. If you like the texture of whole wheat pasta this will be a great option for you!

  • Love there's so many options to choose from! You have to be really careful when boiling, though, otherwise the pasta can become soggy mush pretty quickly. Tasty, though!

  • Best tasting pasta on the market! High in protein and gut healthy!

  • Great for a high-protein pasta option! The texture is not entirely like pasta, one should be aware. Cooking time is a bit longer as well.
