The Reformation wins praise in reviews for flattering, event-ready dresses, chic silhouettes, and a standout tech-enabled in‑store fitting experience, yet the brand draws sustained criticism for inconsistent sizing, thin or unlined fabrics, and quality that often fails to match its reputation. Reviews describe great jeans and timeless styles alongside complaints of shrinking, pilling, and poor construction, plus fit skewed toward tall/slim bodies and frequent frustrations with returns and customer service—making it a try‑in‑person, piece‑by‑piece proposition.
AI summary based on Thingtesting reviews
Got a pair of pants here, The sizing was weird and the material looked really cheap. I ended up returning them.
Reformation's styles and silhouettes are very pretty and reliable. The sizing is very dependent on the style. A lot of it runs quite small, so I would definitely try their clothes on first. The quality is fairly good, but not necessarily incredible or worth the price tag. They are justifiable as investment pieces, but you could definitely find better quality.

The brand is really expensive and brands itself as sustainable. However, I would not purchase based off of that- they've also had a history of toxic leadership. I would only buy it secondhand if possible.
all my ref pieces have lasted me a long time, so pretty high quality. like the cuts and fabrics.

i still think it's greenwashed fast fashion although they claim to be sustainable. i think brands that are creating new designs and mass manufacturing at a fast pace is contributing to trendy fast fashion and promoting consumerism. they probably are more sustainable than your zara or shein, but i don't think they are authentic with their sustainability gimmick.

i have broad shoulders and chubby armpits and the tops and dresses are so flattering on me! they place the straps further apart and the necklines are cut wider and lower. yes, they are a bit pricey but i don’t find other brands that fit so flattering for me.

out of stock on a lot of the items i want!
The pieces are expensive for what they are - love some of the styles of dresses, but didn't love the fit, or the price, of most of them.

Amazing brand and mission – my go-to shop for special events and occasions. And don't sleep on the jeans.

I'm conflicted here, because Reformation has my absolute favorite designs and I think their dresses are beautiful. I'm only giving 3 stars because the sizing is all over the place and the quality feels low for the price point ($200+ and the prints don't line up? crazy to me).

The price!
Ive been buying from reformation for years. I feel over time sizing has gotten better (I’m 36DDD/size 10-12). There are more big tiddy options now which is good. But overtime I feel they’ve lost the “sustainability” claim, they’re more fast fashion now. The prices are a bit steep for what you get. The fit is hit or miss. Quality is hit or miss. I wouldn’t call it reliable. It sucks though because their clothes is super cute, just not always worth it

Quality control and going back to their roots
I love their dresses and have shopped several items, including their basics and jeans. The dresses are one of a kind and look beautiful on. They are especially great for special occasions! The basics can be hit or miss and for the price, you can find similar items elsewhere for less. Figuring out proper sizing for their jeans can be a bit of a pain.

Sizing recommendations would be helpful for their jeans. It could also help customers when buying their dead stock dresses since fabric give varies.
Affordable and excellent price point for everything. I've found everything super durable.
I like a lot of their clothes in theory but so many times I leave the store empty-handed. I find the fit is usually pretty tight / cropped and there aren't that many other options if you want something that fits a little more loosely.

More fit styles.

Poor customer care. Refused to cooperate or issue any resolution for my request to return or exchange a final sale item. Wouldn’t need to return if the measurements worked. Rather lose their customer base than to make us happy. Kept repeating the same jargon that no exceptions.

Agreed with never buy full price. They have two sales, 40% and 70%. Dont buy at 40% unless there's an item that you must have, because 70% will roll around in a week or two weeks with most of everything still in stock. They don't price match either so I bought a skirt that went on sale for 50% more even before the things arrived at my house. Not everything fits well and is of decent quality. In fact, most items arent. So be really sure before you buy online. Id say this brand is in the sub $100 per item category The sustainability thing is a scam. The over-produce, over-stock and over-carry hence the sales. There's no way this is more sustainable.

I recently had a terrible experience with the Reformation team that has resulted in me never shopping with them again. I returned a few items from an online order. About a week later, I received a mystery package back to my house with two from my order wadded up inside, no note, no explanation. Other than being carelessly wadded up, they were in perfect condition. I reached out to the support team via email and got no response. I then followed up via their text line (because they don't have a phone number... that would be too helpful) and was told that they were stained when they arrived at their facility. Clearly some sort of human error occurred, yet they refused a refund. This is basically theft.

DO NOT BUY FROM REFORMATION. I returned a $250 dress back to reformation and they accused me of wearing the item because there was a slight deodorant stain from when I tried it on. I literally tried the dress on, hated it, put it back in the bag and returned the item. Tags still attached. They said they would return the dress back to me and not refund me $250. After going back and forth over email they confirmed they will give me store credit (which is not what I wanted). 10 days later they have yet to do that and now I'm out $250+. I imagine many people also are being scammed by Reformation so save yourself and choose to go anywhere but Reformation. Revolve is a great store, go to Nordstrom, go to Target, seriously go anywhere with a great brand with great customer service because Reformation is not it. I have enjoyed their clothes in the past, but will never shop here again. Hope this helps and really wish I read previous reviews on their clothing!

I recently had a horrible experience at Reformation and am sharing in the hopes that no one else goes through this. I ordered three pairs of shorts in the same size and tried one of them on--the pair didn't fit, so I returned all three. I was only refunded for two pairs and when I reached out to them about the status of the remainder of my refund, I was told that one of the pairs had a stain on it so they would not be refunding me. The kicker is that it was one of the pairs that I didn't try on and was returned unopened in the original packaging. They were very difficult to work with and their customer service was awful. DO NOT shop here.

My recent interaction with Reformation's "Customer Love" service was far from what I expected. Despite their claim to value customers, my experience left me feeling overlooked and frustrated. After a recent purchase, I discovered that the items I bought were now on sale. After ensuring the same size and colour of each item was still available on sale, I reached out to their "Customer Love" team, hoping for some understanding. Unfortunately, their response lacked empathy and seemed more focused on enforcing policy than on customer satisfaction. What's ironic is that Reformation brands their customer service as "Customer Love," yet my interaction was anything but loving. True customer care should go beyond strict policies, especially when it comes to creating goodwill and loyalty. On top of this, the quality of their clothing doesn't seem to match the price. There's a disconnect between what they charge and what they deliver in terms of quality. To make matters worse, their website lacks customer reviews, making it hard to gauge the fit and quality of their products. This lack of transparency leaves customers like me in a guessing game. And when it comes to final sale items, the no-return policy leaves customers uncertain about sizing, making it a risky gamble. I once admired Reformation, but this experience has made me rethink my loyalty. For those considering a purchase, it's important to weigh these factors carefully. Reformation's "Customer Love" might not be as genuine as it sounds, and the value they offer might not align with their prices.

I purchased a dress and the next morning it was marked down $50. I reached out and customer service would not honor the price difference, even in store credit. Most businesses do this, but not this one.

As a longtime customer of Reformation, I have always admired their chic designs and commitment to sustainability. However, my recent experience with this clothing company has been nothing short of a nightmare. The combination of poor customer service and a complete lack of responsiveness has left me incredibly disappointed and frustrated. My latest purchase, an expensive satin dress, was meant to be the highlight of my wardrobe, especially for an upcoming wedding. However, the moment I put it on, my excitement turned into despair. The delicate fabric immediately soaked in my deodorant, leaving unsightly stains all over the dress. I was utterly devastated and had no choice but to wear another dress, undermining the entire purpose of my purchase. Desperate to resolve the issue, I attempted to contact Reformation for assistance. This is where my problems escalated even further. Despite being a loyal customer with over 15 pieces from their brand, I found it impossible to reach a person over the phone. The lack of a direct communication line left me feeling abandoned and disregarded. Resorting to email, I explained my unfortunate situation and kindly requested an exchange or store credit for the defective dress. To my dismay, Reformation's response was cold and unsympathetic. They bluntly denied my request without offering any reasonable explanation. It was apparent that they had little regard for their customers' satisfaction and loyalty. As a sustainable fashion company, I expected Reformation to prioritize quality control, ensuring their garments met the highest standards. Instead, I received a poorly crafted and highly fragile dress that was unfit for even one wear. The lack of responsiveness and refusal to resolve the issue further highlights their disinterest in maintaining customer trust and satisfaction. My trust in Reformation has been severely shattered, and I am now hesitant to make any future purchases from them. It is disheartening to witness a brand that I once held in high regard demonstrate such a complete disregard for its customers' concerns and needs. In conclusion, I strongly advise potential customers to be cautious when dealing with Reformation. Their lack of customer service, coupled with the poor quality of their products, has created a deeply negative experience that I will not soon forget. I hope that Reformation takes this feedback as an opportunity to improve and prioritize its customers in the future. Until then, I cannot recommend this company to anyone.
