The Ordinary earns strong reviews for being effective and ingredient-focused: many users report clearer, smoother, more hydrated skin from staples like Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%, Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5, Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution, and the AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution. Reviews also flag weaknesses: some formulas feel sticky or pill, certain actives (retinoids, vitamin C, high-percentage acids) can irritate or be too harsh, results can be hit-or-miss by product or skin type, and the range can be confusing without research.

The Ordinary brand has provided a skin barrier balance all while locking in that moisture on my skin. I have acne prone, combination sensitive skin so its very difficult for me to try new products when The Ordinary has simplified my routine for a life time. It took a few tries to find out which products best fit my routine but overall has been a wonderful experience.

i definetly would recommend a dermatoligst visit first to know which ingredients best fit your skin.
Such simple ingredients, so affordable, and so effective!! I use their moisturizer and hyaluronic acid daily and my skin has never felt smoother or softer.
LOVE THE ORDINARY! the products are so well priced and work wonders!!! I recommend the AHA peeling mask, the toner is also super good.
I LOVE this brand so much. It is extremely affordable and so many of their products have helped me clear my skin up. I usually purchase The Ordinary from Ulta.

Lots of options to choose from, depending on your skin type.
I know many swear by them, by I've always been underwhelmed by the Ordinary's products.

I've tried several of their products—including the peeling solution, the rose hip oil, and a few more—and I've never really seen positive results. They all irritated my skin in some way and/made me break out, and I don't have sensitive skin. Their price points are good, but I don't think I could recommend.
The Ordinary's azelaic acid has saved my skin from scarring and hyperpigmentation. I will never stop using this stuff! Also a fan of the niacinamide and salicylic acid 2% solution.
I used the retinol and didn’t see any improvement with my skin. When I stopped using it, my skin cleared up. It is not expensive

It doesn’t feel like it really helped my skin.
I love how affordable this brand is, and it has some products that are outstanding. The product I use the most for body, acne and deodorant is the glycolic acid toning solution, which is amazing and I suggest everyone should try it out.
i love this brand. not only is it super duper affordable, but it does the job as well!! i still have yet to try many of their products, but a staple of mine is the ordinary's glycolic acid because it's amazing for its skin benefits, especially for discoloration and body odor!! it exfoliates and removes dead skin cells, leaving your skin looking and feeling rejuvenated. it's also easy to use, making it a great solution for those struggling with dark spots and uneven skin tone. i highly recommend <3
Excellent products at unbeatable prices. They just make quality skincare products at unbeatable prices.
With the ordinary it really is very hit or miss. Love the buffet, niacinamide, glicolic acid. Didn’t really like their AHA, moisturizer, squalane cleanser
It is challenging to find any faults with The Ordinary brand given its quality ingredients and affordability. While some of the products didn't have any noticeable effect on my skin, I do have a few favorites like the Hydraulic Acid 2% + B5 and Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% that I use frequently in my skincare regimen. Additionally, I appreciate the sleek and simple packaging design.

The price of these products is great. I have tried a few of their products and keep repurchasing them. It is a bit of an experiment to find out which products work best for your skin though, so that’s something to keep in mind. Personally my favourites so far are their: multi-peptide serum for hair density, which makes my hair feel thicker immediately and refreshes my scalp, as well as the Niacinamide serum and the “Buffet” serum.

It does take a bit of researching and trial and error to determine if these products will work for your skin
I'm a poor grad student and before that I was a poor college student. The Ordinary made sure that I could still take care of my skin. I really like their Niacimide + Zinc serum, which helped with my oily t-zone. I haven't purchased in a while and I've noticed the difference. It's reasonably prices and even easier to access now between it being sold at Sephora, Ulta, and flagship stores.

I wish there was a recycling program, especially at their stores. I have a collection of little bottles that I don't really have a use for!
I use the ordinary for my entire skincare line up. Its affordable, and their website gives you so much insight on how to properly use/mix everything. I will ride the Ordinary train as long as their prices stay so low.

The hyralonic acid and niacinamide are my GO TO.

I’ve purchased several products from The Ordinary and found them to be good value for the money and depending on the product, very effective. Their website clearly explains the ingredients and use instructions. The website reviews also help determine which product may be effective for your needs.

Every November, they offer a 23% discount which is quite a good deal.

maybe the packaging a little more
I have tried the niacin amide serum and caffeine under eye serum and I really like both of them.

This is a really affordable brand and I think it's great for people wanting to try active ingredients without spending a lot of money.
Very happy with the products I have used! Azelaic Acid Suspension, Niacinamide, Hyaluronic Acid 2% and High-Adherence Silicone primer. They all work extremely well for the price!
Great price point - just didn't work for my skin that great.
