Stasher Bag wins praise in reviews for durable, leak-resistant silicone storage that replaces single‑use plastic, performs in freezer, microwave, dishwasher, and even sous vide, and comes in versatile, space‑saving sizes and colors. However, many reviewers flag persistent drawbacks: tough-to-clean seams, slow drying that can lead to odors or mildew, occasional staining or smell retention, tricky openings, and rare tears or imperfect seals with liquids—making bowls/stand-up styles preferred for ease of use.

  • Great alternative to plastic ziploc bags. These are not only more eco friendly they also keep food fresher for longer than ziplock bags. They are also great for travel. Highly recommend!

  • These bags are great for lunch boxes or on the go. I love not using a plastic bag each time. The colors are great and prices are fair. Awesome company!

  • I love all my slasher bags! They hold up so well - I think I’ve had my longest for four years now? Maybe a little more? And it’s still in perfect condition. I do find they feel a little pricey off the jump if you’re used to buying ziploc bags, but truly for how long they last and the amount you save on plastic bags they are 100% worth the swap!! They’re also really great to slowly add into your rotation - you don’t need to buy a ton of them all at once. I love that I can put food in them and boil it to cook things, store dry or wet snacks / sauces and I often use them when I need to marinate meat. 10/10 would recommend!!

  • Stasher does what it promises - makes high quality, reusable storage bags! I can attest to the quality of Stashers being amazing - I’ve had mine for several years and never had any issues with them, and have used them in my fridge, my freezer, or for travel. They are really handy for traveling with miscellaneous items (ex: I bring all my Matcha stuff in a stasher bag when traveling, and my partner puts all his protein powder for the trip in a large stasher bag). They are also dishwasher safe so I just pop them in the dishwasher and they are, for the most part, good as new! I will say that I storing curries/colored marinade can potentially stain the lighter colored bags, this has happened to me before but it’s not something that I’m really fussed with so doesn’t make a huge difference to me. I love these bags and haven’t had to buy ziploc bags in years, so mission truly accomplished!

  • So happy with my purchase! I can use this for almost anything. It's durable and I have used these at home for food storage, but also for keeping beauty products contained while travelling!

  • Useful, great to keep things in the fridge, but can sometimes open a bit if you throw them in your bag.

  • When I discovered the toxicity of ziploc bags and the hurt it causes our environment, I immediately switched to these! They are durable and come in assorted colors. I use them to pack my toddler's snacks and sandwiches when we out running errands. To wash them is a simple process, I just turn them inside out and wash them and let them stand up to dry. Definitely make the switch to Stasher Bag, you won't regret it!

  • These bags are definitely they way to go when looking for versatile reusable bags. They replace your plastic bags and so much more. Also, they are dishwasher safe and you can even put them in the microwave. I have a bunch of different sizes and I use them for everything!

I will say that I have had minor trouble opening them, it takes a little getting used to. Also, they can be pretty expensive at time. I usually try to find sales or coupons when I am looking to purchase a new set.

  • I love my stashers! I only have 5 so far but I am slowly adding more to my collection because they are kinda pricey but worth every single penny! You can use them in the freezer, fridge, oven and pots. They are dishwasher safe as well. I am picky and only want lime green ones but I can’t wait to add more to my collection I love them!

  • Love Stasher Bags and have been using them for years. Great for food and traveling!! The silicone is high quality and I've never had to replace a bag.

I wish they were a little easier to clean.

  • These are well designed but the locking mechanism is a little awkward. Nevertheless, they are a much better alternative to single use bags and I will recommend them to others.

  • I really think that making small changes like this in my life is just a nice way to reduce my consumption of plastic and they are significantly more sturdy. While the OG bags are not my favorite, the bowls are an everyday necessity for me. I bring my lunch to work several times a week. And dishwasher safe? 10/10

The opening on the OG bags is why I don't love that style and prefer the bowl

  • Got as a gift from a family member. They work well bug are nothing special.

  • When these bags first came on the market I thought the idea was great and invested a good amount of money in buying the set. As time has passed, and new brands have come onto the market, I don't think they are worth the price point. Closing the bags while trying to get all the air out is difficult, and adding ingredients can be difficult.

Not bad, but there are better option.

  • I use these for food and storing other items. When traveling, they’re perfect for accessories. For work, I put my silverware in one. They’re really convenient when meal prepping too, I marinate tofu in the bag. Reduces plastic wrap, plastic bags, etc. The possibilities are endless!

  • Love Stasher products. The bags are reusable, sturdy, and can be run through the dishwasher. Helped me kick my single use plastic habit!

  • These bags are the best gateway to sustainability. I've been working to adjust my habits for years and never thought I could let go of single use plastic baggies, but that concern went away so fast. Not only are these bags well designed and beautifully colored, but the quality is outstanding. The only threat to them is a super sharp edge (like scissors or a knife), but they can withstand the oven and freezer and keep food fresher for longer. Major points too for being nontoxic! And I love that they take up waaaaay less space than boxy Tupperware. I quickly went from owning 2 bags to owning close to 15 and they are almost always all in use. The tradeoff was not nearly as bad as I thought. The bigger bags are great for bulky things like half a head of cauliflower or a wet swimsuit, but the size I use most is probably snack size – they're ideal for preserving things that would otherwise be exposed and go bad in the fridge like half a lemon/avocado/banana, remainder of a block of cheese, chopped herbs, and other random leftover ingredients. I also love using the sandwich bags for taking snacks on the go, taking my wallet/keys/etc to the beach, or organizing my things when packing for a trip. I have brought these bags with me into two different roommate setups where the roommates were not at all interested in using them over single use baggies at first, but now use them on a weekly basis. You'll be surprised by how little you miss the flimsy baggies that you used to go through. They requiring occasionally involved cleaning, but are way more effective, cute, sustainable, money saving, and durable than baggies which will keep you coming back.

The biggest barrier is definitely the cleaning, but when done properly is not as daunting as you think. If I'm cleaning them out after they've been holding something very smelly or dyed or not food-safe, I usually fill them with hot water and soap, seal and shake, and leave them for at least 30 min before washing. If any smell or dye is still left, leave them in the sun for a n hour or so and they're good as new! I would also recommend soaking them before putting them in a dishwasher if there's residue inside so you can be sure they get a good clean. I hand wash mine and though it takes some unique maneuvering to scrub and then dry, it's not so bad.
