  • Vivid, nostalgic flavors
  • Lower‑sugar candy formulas
  • Convenient portion packs
  • Vegan, plant‑based options
  • Extremely sticky texture
  • Inconsistent chew quality
  • Notable sweetener aftertaste
  • Potential gi discomfort

SmartSweets earns largely positive reviews as a lower‑sugar candy that satisfies cravings—standouts include Sweet Fish, Peach Rings, Sourmelon Bites, red twists, and gummy worms—while recurring complaints in reviews cite an extremely sticky, tooth‑clinging texture and occasional odd or stevia‑like aftertaste. Reviews also note inconsistent chew across flavors and batches, plus some GI sensitivity for a few users; if you want a healthier candy fix and can accept a different chew, SmartSweets is a compelling swap, but purists may prefer the originals.

  • I really like the concept but the snacks taste so fake and not in a cute fun gummy way. They just haven’t fully replicated the taste of my favorite candies, so what’s the point of buying them?

  • Yuuuuuum. You get everything you want out of a gummy candy without all the added sugar and creepy ingredients. And they actually taste like the classic candies they’re duping 🍬

  • Meh - not the worst but also not something I reach for. The artificial taste really bothered me and at that point I would rather just have a smaller quantity of the real thing to satisfy my craving. They are also really expensive and not worh it for me!

  • I have such a sweet tooth but don't always want to eat a big bag of candy or a bunch of calories. The serving size is perfect and love the different options!

    Feedback

The ingredients in the candies definitely aren't that much better for you then normal candy and it also makes me feel kind of bloated.

  • I am not a believer in alternative sweets, unless there are clear reasons to abstain (unethically sourced palm oil, carcinogenic food colorings, food allergies). So probably I am not the ideal Smart Sweets customer. That being said, the gummies I've tried were pretty decent. Would I buy them in the future? Probably not, because they're more expensive. However, if you're trying to find lower sugar alternatives for health reasons, you'd be hard pressed to find better options.

  • Tasted great, but I was not a fan of the texture.

    Feedback

I have no feedback other that please come out with a different kind of candy. I don't like gummy candy since it sticks in your teeth.

  • I'm too much of a candy fiend to enjoy these. Haven't had one I really like yet but am always open to trying new flavors that come out just incase I find one for me.

    Feedback

The texture is there but the flavors aren't potent enough for my sugar loving self.

  • Smart Sweets provides a great solution to candy that is a bit better for you in terms of ingredients. While they exceed in that field with their great ingredients compared to the competition, they struggle to achieve the same consistency and texture as traditional gummy candy. This may not be what they were striving for, but it’s something that can’t go unnoticed when consuming.

    Feedback

I would love to have a Smart Sweets gummy candy that has more of the same consistency as traditional brands.

  • We bought these to give out for Halloween treats at daycare. We tried most of the flavors and my son (4y) could not tell that they were any different from normal (full sugar) candy!

    Feedback

One of the flavors had less spring than a normal hunny style candy but overall they were all very good!

  • Some candies were better than others. I especially liked the red fish. I did find the sour gummies weren’t sour at all and didn’t have the best flavor. I love how they have very little sugar and I feel better about giving them to my daughter for a treat.

    Feedback

They were very gummy and sticky and got stuck in teeth more than with other gummies.

  • I think the Smart Sweets are good, low-sugar alternative. They do have an artificial sugar taste, but if you're already used to that, it's really not a big deal. They're very.. sticky? I found them getting stuck in my teeth more than average candy.

    Feedback

    More types of candy!

  • Sometimes they are great and sometimes they rip your teeth out. I love the Swedish fish ones and the watermelon candy but about every other pack is rock solid.

    Feedback

A variety pack would be great!

  • Overall, I think these sweets are a great alternative to someone who needs to be on a lower sugar diet. I will say that there is a noticeable difference in these sweets and there alternative.

    Feedback

These always make my stomach upset, so be careful if you don't tolerate low sugar things well

  • Not flavorful or tasty, overly chewy without a great flavor to compensate. Very odd candy overall.

    Feedback

    Texture and flavor.

  • Tastes just as good as a regular gummy, the only thing that I have a small issue with is the price. It's almost 50% higher than the competitor's candy and while this one is low in sugar and look good, the price stops me at times.

    Feedback

    More variety, cost effective

  • The candy tastes fake.

    Feedback

You're better off having real candy if possible. A bag of smart sweets will make you feel sick and wish you had a couple pieces of real candy.

  • I’ve tried several of their sweets and to be honest they can be either great or just a huge let down. My personal favorite are the peach rings and I would avoid the swedish fish at all cost. Some of them have a weird chemically after taste common to low sugar snacks but the one that are good hit hard!

    Feedback

Consistency of quality of product across different flavors

  • Different gummies are hit-or-miss, but the ones that hit are good. I'd recommend the sour bears and the peach rings, wouldn't recommend the swedish fish. These hit the spot for me when I want a sugary candy and I really like how high fiber these are. I haven't tried their caramels but will definitely be trying when I see them next!

    Feedback

Candy gets majorly stuck in your teeth. Price is a little high for what you get in a bag.

  • Really liked the sweet fish, I thought they were a great alternative to Swedish fish. However, the sour buddies and sweet chews had an awful aftertaste and strange texture.

    Feedback

Reformulate some of the candies. The sweet chews were almost inedible.
