SmartSweets earns largely positive reviews as a lower‑sugar candy that satisfies cravings—standouts include Sweet Fish, Peach Rings, Sourmelon Bites, red twists, and gummy worms—while recurring complaints in reviews cite an extremely sticky, tooth‑clinging texture and occasional odd or stevia‑like aftertaste. Reviews also note inconsistent chew across flavors and batches, plus some GI sensitivity for a few users; if you want a healthier candy fix and can accept a different chew, SmartSweets is a compelling swap, but purists may prefer the originals.

I love having a healthier candy option for my kids! Not only do my kids love it, it is a good candy alternative for adults too. The flavors are good and resemble your typical candy - gummy worms, gummy bears, peach-o's, etc. The packaging and marketing is spot on! Very clean and modern but still colorful so it grabs kids attention as well! The downside - some of the smart sweet candies are harder to chew. They can get stuck in my teeth which makes me a little worried about my kids getting candy stuck in their teeth. I always reinforce brushing extra good after!
Great is you are looking for a low sugar sweet, but don’t give the same satisfaction as a sour gummy. They were super sour and had a bit of an artificial taste
I love buying these when I want candy but do not want to have too much added sugar
I love the low/ no sugar option when I’m craving something sweet. I don’t feel especially guilty for indulging my sweet tooth with Smart Sweets. Although a few of the candies leave behind an unpleasant aftertaste. I highly recommend the red fish! They have no aftertaste and have an almost exact texture and taste to the full sugar version. The watermelons are worth a try too. Not quite as sour as the original they are modeled after yet still delicious. I personally would steer clear from the lollipops in particular. The aftertaste stays with you long after you’ve finished.

The Swedish fish ones are my favorite. I keep a pack in my purse at all times. My boyfriend usually ends up eating them before I do lol
I used to be a huge Smart Sweets supporter when they first launched with just a few products. Recently, they've been hurting my stomach more and cause significant bloating when I eat them. While I appreciate what the brand is doing, something in their low-sugar candy does not sit right in my stomach, so much so that I can't eat them anymore. The pain is not worth the low-sugar option, plus they don't always taste right.
SmartSweets is a great brand, really depends on the product you're trying. Some of them genuinely do taste like candy while others are a bit odd flavor-wise. Best ones are probably their gummy bears or gummy worms.
Amazing taste considering low sugar content, good texture too. I savor each bite and never want to binge eat a pound of these things despite how delicious they are. Excellent alternative to high sugar candies for those with a sweet tooth.
Might be sugar free, but so pricey for so little product, also the textures are very off-putting and really really stick onto your teeth like no other. The peach rings might be the best flavor if I had to choose one.
I ordered the gummy bears on the website. The flavors were good, but the texture is too sticky. The gummies glued to my teeth. This cannot be good and may mean more dental work. I do not advise buying these although I like the idea of being sugar-free
I only tried the Sweet Fish (copy of swedish fish) but it was enough to dissuade me from trying any of the other options. It was bad. I mean, Swedish Fish are also bad, but this was a weird texture that stuck to your teeth for a long time, and it had a sweet fruit smell that reminded me of vape juice. Incredibly unsatisfying to chew on, but could be passable if you're looking for anything to take the edge off a sugar craving.

The best low sugar better-for-you gummy candies! I love how well they’ve matched childhood favorite flavors like peach rings, watermelon slices, sour patch kids, and swedish fish. They nailed the texture and sweetness level too. Changing the game in the candy industry for sure.
I LOVE the sour buddies and peach rings. They’re even better when they’re refrigerated. These have been through a few different formulations over the years, and the formula that’s used specifically for products sold at Whole Foods is…not great. But if you order from the website or buy from other retailers, 10/10!

We love smart sweets. The taste is great, with the only downside being cost.
Pretty good, but damages your teeth a lot.
Uses coconut oil (I’m allergic :((
I have struggled with sugar, candy and my sweet tooth. My favourite are the Swedish fish. I am not a super fan of the sugar coated ones - I just don’t love the taste. But overall I love them.
Smart sweets are a great way to satisfy a sweet tooth without all the sugar.
Overall I love these as a low carb sweet. I am a huge fan of chewy candy and these hit the spot. Some flavors are significantly better than other though. The root beer gummies fell flat but the peach rings and Swedish fish are spot on and delicious.
They were ok, I feel like at that point I just would eat real candy since who is eating candy often enough where you can’t have a little splurge. These were a little too sticky to my teeth for my taste. I did like the peach ones best!
