  • The body wash formula is fabulous. It’s silky and lathers enough that I can use it to shave but it’s also lightweight enough that it rinses off easily and doesn’t leave a residue film on the skin or the shower floor. The three scents I got are all nice and fragrant in the shower but I didn’t find them to linger with staying power on the skin afterwards. The salt water vanilla is my favorite of the bunch and is a beautiful earthy vanilla scent, definitely not a sweet gourmand. The other two scents are great tropical, citrusy scents that I will reach for when the weather warms up. I also got the clear lip oil. When I first applied it, it had a lightweight, slippy oil texture but after a few minutes it turned sticky. It also had a sour yogurt smell to it. Like a realistic vanilla yogurt scent that made me gag. I used it multiple times and just could not get over the texture or smell. My husband also commented that it smelled rancid. I won’t be using it again or repurchasing any of the other lip products from saltair. I really think body care is where they excel.

  • I've been trying out the products I got for about a week now and have some mixed feelings about everything I bought. Scent wise: I had seen a lot of hype around the seascape scent, but when I received it, I felt like the scent wasn't anything special and it just smells like soap to me. I honestly don't really smell a difference between black tide and seascape. Salt water vanilla however is lovely! I don't usually buy a gourmand or heavy vanilla scent, but I've been trying to lean into to more recently and I really like the way these smell. I think it's the salt water aspect that I like because it makes it not too sweet and feels comforting. The product themselves: Serum deodorant- I love it! I like using it right after I shower in the evening and I feel good the next day for the most part. I've been reapplying before a workout and feel like I don't smell at all afterwards. It is pretty sticky after applying and I don't love the way that feels, but once it's dried down, it feels like nothing. Body wash- I haven't felt too much of a difference with the body washes being more hydrating than other similar brands, so I feel neutral about them. I do like the texture though. Not too gooey. Body butter- I LOVE the body butter! I haven't tried too many body butters, but the texture to me is so unique. It's thick, but bouncy and light. This is the first time I've gotten a body butter and thought it really was like butter. It glides on super smooth and is easy to rub in without a lot of effort. Body oil- This is my first time ever using a body oil so I don't really have anything to compare it to, but I've been really loving it in conjunction with the body butter. I feel like my skin has been so smooth and soft lately. Lip oil balm- This one I was really disappointed with. I got the cacao color and I feel like it sits on my lips like melted chocolate. The formula is a lot thicker than I expected and I don't love how it applies. I love brown lip shades, but this really doesn't blend well into my lips. Maybe it would be better for someone with a darker skin tone? I think I should have dried toasted instead. I would definitely buy the serum deodorant, body butter, and body oil again and skip the rest.

  • I have used Saltair's shampoo and conditioner before and really liked it for the price and the more sustainable aluminum packaging. Sustainability doesn't seem to be one of their core values anymore, which is a little disappointing, so my review for the new products I've tried is really based on efficacy, as the packaging and experience is at this point no different from any other personal care brand. I ordered the serum deodorant in driftwood vanilla to see if I'd like it as much as Necessaire's much pricier but identical product. Unfortunately, I feel like it doesn't do much. The scent is nice, but it doesn't last. I fear it was a waste. I had also added the lip oil balm to my order and surprisingly this is way more of a standout than the deodorant! It has a cloying vanilla cake scent and taste that's not my favorite, but the effect and texture on the lips is completely unique and totally stands out in a market where there are truly a gajillion identical products. So... if you're going to roll the dice on Saltair, I'd try the shower products or the lip oil balm!
