I tried the customizable haircare and felt like it didn't do much for my hair. I was expecting to see more results with it feeling softer, fuller, and healthier but it felt a lot more blah than the drugstore products I have used. I live in Los Angeles and was hoping it would help with the hard water here, but I really didn't see anything better.

Didn’t really feel like the custom solution worked for my hair. I did a reformulation offered by their CX and it still didn’t work. I love the experience and wished the products worked for me.

After one shampoo my hair did not felt thick or easy to brush. Will not buy again.

My auto ship got changed to less than one month and several extra items ordered which I would never do. I do auto ship with many other companies and have NEVER had a problem. This cost me HUNDREDS of extra dollars and when I noticed the shipment the same day, I immediately cancelled it and said I did not order it. It was 9:36 pm where I’m live in AZ and you told me, too bad, I missed the cancellation deadline by 36 min as it Midnight eastern time. Such crap. You offered a $10 coupon - which is unacceptable! You said I must have gotten mixed up and and you fixed it for me, but I have no way of verifying it was my mistake. I do not even like the products- they dry out my hair. NEVER AGAIN, PROSE! Feels like a scam!

Very aesthetic and nice smelling but that's the one and only nice thing I can say. Prose has actually damaged my hair and scalp and months after use I'm still attempting to recover. My thin hair has started shedding more than ever and my scalp is itchy and irritated. This didn't happen until I started using their products. I would warn anyone to not use them. I wish I had never paid for overpriced poison for my hair.

I love the idea of Prose, and the detailed questionnaire about your hair inspires initial confidence. But for me it was no different than much less-expensive store-bought brands that are also sulfate-free. In fact, it made my hair worse. At $75 for a one-time order of one shampoo and one conditioner, it was way too expensive of a blunder on my part. For budget-conscious people, I would strongly recommend looking at less-expensive alternatives. Also, it seems from the Prose website that they pick and choose the reviews that they decide to share instead of letting everyone write share their feedback.

I enjoyed the personalization of my products, but the prices were too steep for the quantity received. Didn’t see results worth the price.

Bad business model. I purposely did not sign up for a subscription but they charged my credit card for a second delivery. I ordered once and It took a long time to arrive. I haven’t tried it yet and they already billing me for more.

Extremely overpriced. I'm really doubting the "tailor made" formulas. I got highlights over two years ago and rarely blowdry or curl my hair, but after taking the quiz it said my hair is 100% damaged. Like 100%?? Okay. The products feel thin and cheap. My hair does not feel softer or healthier using this than any cheap products. The scents are underwhelming, I tried two different ones. It looks, feels, and smells like hotel shampoo and conditioner. It also doesn't put the scents or ingredients or anything but your name and some numbers on the bottles. Trying to figure out why this shampoo is $32 for 8.5 oz...

It was good at first but now after almost 2 years I’m almost bold. Its the worst.

I don’t get the negative reviews because I love my Prose! The first time I used it i could feel the difference in my hair texture in the shower soaking wet. My hair feels so soft, looks shiny, and detangles like a dream (for reference, I have slightly wavy, long hair that is thick and color-treated. I swim around 5 days a week in the pool.) I tried the scalp mask and loved the way it made my scalp feel, I have seasonal itching that is gone. I do wish the bottles were more sustainably made as others have said, but otherwise this has been perfection for me.

Not only was the "custom" formula not good for my hair, I was charged for another set of shampoo and supplements the day I canceled. Items were not even scheduled to ship that day! NOT WORTH my money and time.

I was really excited to choose and get my products, and the customization process was fun. I just got the conditioner and curl cream. The first time I tried them, it turned out really well. My hair was shiny and bouncy. Every time after that though, it has gotten more tangled and dry. It's just not nourishing enough, and I was very clear that my hair needed a lot in my quiz. Whatever French person creating these formulas just doesn't understand what my thick, messy curly hair needs. On to the next.

Took the quiz, used the hair mask and shampoo for a month. My curly hair has never been frizzier, dryer or less defined. Prose is awful. Don’t get fooled by their marketing.

Loved the custom shampoo, conditioner and scalp mask. I was very reluctant at first but I was losing a lot of hair and was thinking that I had to try everything. I normally have thick hair and hence it was quite surprising to see how much hair I was losing and how thin my hair was becoming. I have been using these products for two months now and my hair texture and thickness have improved a lot. It's 90% there. I still have a little bit of hair fall but this is nothing compared to what it was a month ago. Love the scalp mask as I really feel the fresh and clean effect it provides. My scalp is not dry anymore and is not flaky anymore. Loved the shampoo too and the smell I chose was rose and geranium. My husband loves the smell of my hair and I absolutely love it too. The leave-in conditioner is not that great though. This is the first time I've ever used a leave-in conditioner so I'm not sure if that's how all of them make your hair feel - like something is stuck on your hair. But when I apply the conditioner and wash it off, my wavy hair feels great. I'm going to try the normal conditioner this time from their line instead of the leave-in and see how that goes. But, at least my hair is not frizzy with the leave-in conditioner if I apply and wash it off as opposed to not using it and having very frizzy hair. So, overall, the product works for me and I love it!

I'm going to have to cut my waist length hair off at my chin due to the breakage at my ponytail I've experienced using Prose products for the last few months. My hair has never been so brittle or dry and I'm extremely disappointed in these products.

I’ve struggled with dandruff for a years, including a sensitive and itchy scalp. Prose is the first haircare system that gave me scalp relief! I used the scalp pre treatment, shampoo, and conditioner. Within the first week I noticed a drastic difference in my dandruff and how my scalp felt. My hair also feels thicker and the ends smoother. The only thing I’m not thrilled about is the expense, but I personally think the results are worth the investment.

I had a lot of expectations for this customized product and unfortunately, it fell somewhat short. I ordered the shampoo and conditioner and after filling out the in-depth quiz, I was excited to receive the products and see a difference in my hair. I was looking for something that would hydrate and repair my hair and I saw no difference. The product sat in my hair and it never really felt "clean."

I bought the conditioner, curl cream and leave in conditioner. I would expect these to be smooth and creamy for moisturization because dryness was my main concern; NONE OF THEM WERE MOISTURIZING. The conditioner was so thin and felt so cheap, it felt like it was removing any moisture I had and left my hair feeling sticky dry when it was still wet and not smoothed at all. And the curl cream was so weak in hold and the leave in conditioner was also so thin. It didn’t help with my frizziness, nor curl definition, nor shininess whatsoever when those were literally my only concern. Would not recommend for the ridiculous price it is.

The questionnaire was extensive, which is great to ensure you're getting the proper formulation for your shampoo and conditioner. However, I feel that because it was so extensive at times it was difficult to select 2-3 main hair concerns.
