[Edit on 7/11] Knocking this down to 2/5; the lights do not stay on the wall as they are held on with the cheap Command strips. Both lights fell off, which broke one and scratched the other. This would be my third round of replacements for these products if I reach out again. The light also scratched and pulled paint off of the wall; we cannot get it to stay even with additional Command strips. I really, really wanted to love this product - I love their design, inspiration, and marketing. The Poplights took 4 additional months to ship, which is understandable at their stage and with market conditions, but no discounts or refunds were provided. Once the lights arrived (I got the sage green lights), they honestly looked quite cheap. For $200+ for two, the lights literally have Command strips you could purchase for $3 on the back, the lights don't turn on easily (we have to push the button 4 or 5 times to get them on), and one of the bulbs came scratched. They are replacing the scratched light and have quick customer care which I appreciate it. I hope changes can be made as the company grows larger, as for now, it is not worth the money.

Hey Zoe! I really appreciate your feedback! Poplights sometimes do get damaged in shipping, and just like your experience with us we replace those as fast as we can! As for the on/off button - it just requires one gentle tap to turn on and off, not a full hard press. I hope that's helpful! We wanted Poplight to look as seamless as possible (like a wired wall light) so we made the button pretty subtle. 3M command strips are amazing and can hold a lot of weight for a little piece of tape! That's why use their brand to hold up Poplights! If you don't like using command strips to hang them, you can also use the built in screw holes on Poplights base to screw them into the wall.

This is cheap plastic junk that is no way worth $95. Mine fell off its base and bounced on the floor and stopped working. No instructions came with light. If it had continued working itโs worth may $25 at most. Donโt be taken inโ .

The product looks beautiful, but it's definitely overpriced for what you get. Paying $200 for lights made completely of plastic is too much. The app is simple, but not intuitive, and it relies on the lights pairing every time. Because the battery packs have room to move, you essentially have to turn them on manually every once in a while to get them to pair with the app. My biggest issue is with the warmth of the bulb. The lights are very cool, even on their warmest setting, and they give more of a clinical vibe than what was shown in their ads. They also claimed that the batteries can last several hours. However, both my lights will barely reach 4 hours with a full charge before I have to charge them again. It also takes about 4 hours to fully charge each time.

Hey Jenna! Thanks so much for your feedback! We are working on warmer Poplights now. You can also leave your Poplights plugged in if recharging is not convenient for you. Thank you again for supporting our small business!

I was so excited for this product! I am not a renter, but have a brick wall behind my bed with no outlets and it is so hard to screw into. Poplight seemed like the perfect solution! The lights themselves work well. The button to turn on is a bit finicky- you have to hit it just right. The app is easy to use. My biggest issue is the temperature of the bulb. Even on the warmest setting, it is very cool. It does not look anything like the warm bulb they have on a video on their website, which makes me wonder if there was a filter on that video, or maybe earlier versions used a different bulb. Definitely disappointing because I bought the lights to have a cozy reading light in my bedroom, but the bulbs are so cool they feel more clinical than cozy.

For the idea and the enthusiasm of the makers I would give this 5 stars/top marks, but the execution feels cheap. Turning the power on manually usually takes a few tries before it clicks on. The bluetooth option is faster but pairing it takes time and also takes being able to power the light on in the first place. Plus personally, I don't always want to use a phone to turn on a light. The battery in the casing has a lot of play when you press the power button. Charge should last for several hours but I got maybe 4-5. You can leave the battery charging in the unit *if* you are close to an outlet. If I wanted to leave the light plugged in I probably would have bought a less expensive one that I could mount on the wall. The light comes with temperature and brightness settings you can only access via the phone app. But, if you don't find the "warm" option warm or "cool" option cool enough, there's no way you can change out the bulb to one that suits you better. And overall even the warm option is not warm and is quite clinical looking (and cooler than advertised). There's also a tiny magnet in the casing and if for any reason it gets dislodged you cannot turn the light back on. I had to get the entire light unit replaced because the magnet had fallen out of its nook and gotten stuck around the charging port internally. Price is high when you consider it's all plastic and held up by command strips. And, command strips can still pull up paint when you remove them. There is an option to mount it to the wall without the strips but at that point I'd rather buy a quality light. The pros are the color choices and from afar it looks like a beautiful wall lamp. For me, I'd rather have to spackle a hole to have the ability to turn on my light easily and have choice when it comes to the color of the lightbulb especially when the price point is so high.
Full disclosure, I'm not a renter. I own but this solved a problem I didn't even know that I had. I use this in my laundry room and closets. It's so nice to have a light that's portable, rechargeable, AND chic. No notes.
