Poplight earns mixed reviews: it solves dark, outlet-free spaces with chic, renter-friendly sconces that install in minutes and offer adjustable brightness, but durability and light quality draw criticism. Reviews praise stylish colors, easy repositioning, long battery life for some, and responsive support, while others report cheap-feeling plastic, unreliable adhesive that can fall and damage walls, finicky power buttons, cool/clinical light even on “warm,” limited app and ecosystem, and inconsistent battery performance.

We love poplight! We have the green one in our kids bedroom and use it every night for story time.

Such a fantastic product. I use mine as a reading light above my bed. It was easy to install and it looks beautiful. I only need to recharge every couple of months. I’ll be getting another soon!

Love the poplight in our nursery, perfect for story time exactly where we wanted it. Battery seems to last a long time. App works great.

These were such an amazing purchase!!! I am renting my apartment and the overhead lights are just awful. They’re that kind of sterile white light that I image a morgue might have. The pop lights that I purchased certainly remedied that, though! They brought pop of color to my bedroom walls (which I’m not allowed to paint) and make the room feel much more cozy. I love that there are different settings on the light so I can determine the brightness and warmth I want, because I can get some vision sensitivity when looking at something too long in the same lighting. I also super appreciate that I can turn off my poplights through the app instead of having to physically get out of bed when I’m already tucked in and comfortable for the night. All in all, this is a great product, and I’m excited to see what colors and variations come out next!!!

Takes literally 5 seconds to put up! Best thing since sliced bread. Makes a sconce moment possible in every space in the house. The *literal* dream.

I love poplight! They are beautiful, simple, easy to install, and look great in my house. I’ve already purchased more for my family.

Poplight fixes my dark living room couch corner that has bothered me for years! My favorite feature is that it can go dim for evening mood lighting or bright for helping me see a mending project/ read a book. The built-in level rocks for easy installation.

I own 4 poplights and have gifted many and they are incredible. Excellent quality, stylish and aesthetically pleasing, and great customer service. I will be buying these as excellent gifts for folks for a long time coming!

Love this little powerhouse of a light! It’s so cute above our nightstands and really frees up the nightstand space for all the trinkets and books I inevitably leave there. Our walls are extremely textured, so having the option to hang it with a screw/simple anchor is great. Hanging it like that is obviously so much easier than trying to wire in a typical sconce. I don’t normally write reviews, but felt like I had to get one on here because I’ve really been enjoying my poplight! Can’t wait for more colors to come out!

These are AMAZING. I love decor but often have a hard time making a decision, and end up sticking to neutrals (boring). These allowed me to actually get a color that brought me joy- so much joy— without the “forever” commitment.. though honestly, I think I’m committed :) The design is also super versatile and I’ve used them in my mid-mod decor as well as more antique/vintage space. RUN DONT WALK!

Fantastic product, designed with the user in mind. Amazing customer service & a lovely founder story. They recently added a warmer light temperature in response to customer feedback, really demonstrating their priority of user experience. For those mentioning unreliable adhesive — the design has options to easily hang the base onto the wall. I used this feature on my textured walls which tend to be adhesive resistant.

Created an account just to talk about how absolutely wonderful Poplights are and the positive experience I’ve had from the kickstarter days until now. When I first got the Poplight after their first set of shipments, I was SO impressed with the quality of the product and how truly easy it was to install. It is an absolute must-buy and 100% worth the investment!!

My Poplights light up hard to reach places that I can’t put a lamp and it’s easy to use and install. Cool colors. Cool brand. Great customer service. A+ product.

The adhesive did not hold and the light fell within the first 5 minutes of setting it up. It’s also cheap plastic and not worth $95. The company was NOT helpful at all with the issue. I wrote a review on the site to caution customers to make sure there’s padding on the ground in case the light falls and the company won’t publish the review. Also, now that I’m stuck with this light I don’t like, theres no recycling stream for it - it’s landfill. Would give negative stars if I could.

I don’t often write reviews but these things are so disappointing I feel obligated to call it out. The light “bulbs” themselves are so dim and so cold they make any space they are in feel awful. They are not interchangeable or replaceable. They do claim to have a warm light setting but the plastic white frosted bulb makes all 3 warmth settings very ugly. It’s a shame because the concept is neat and the general design is so close to being good. It’s actually pretty shocking how they let the most important part of their product, the actual LIGHT a LAMP omits, be this bad. Save your money and light a candle.

The spread of warmness goes from cold to incredibly cold. Its made of cheap plastic entirely. The novelty of being able to remove the battery is silly due to how inaccessible it is. The battery life in general is bad. If i want to just leave it plugged in at all times (like a NORMAL light) then the status light will be on and keep me awake at night. My girlfriend wanted me to get this and I was truly excited but please just buy a regular lamp that you can actually replace the bulb on easily. Oh i forgot to mention the poplight app is borderline unusable.

This is cheap plastic junk that is no way worth $95. Mine fell off its base and bounced on the floor and stopped working. No instructions came with light. If it had continued working it’s worth may $25 at most. Don’t be taken in’ .

The product looks beautiful, but it's definitely overpriced for what you get. Paying $200 for lights made completely of plastic is too much. The app is simple, but not intuitive, and it relies on the lights pairing every time. Because the battery packs have room to move, you essentially have to turn them on manually every once in a while to get them to pair with the app. My biggest issue is with the warmth of the bulb. The lights are very cool, even on their warmest setting, and they give more of a clinical vibe than what was shown in their ads. They also claimed that the batteries can last several hours. However, both my lights will barely reach 4 hours with a full charge before I have to charge them again. It also takes about 4 hours to fully charge each time.

I was so excited for this product! I am not a renter, but have a brick wall behind my bed with no outlets and it is so hard to screw into. Poplight seemed like the perfect solution! The lights themselves work well. The button to turn on is a bit finicky- you have to hit it just right. The app is easy to use. My biggest issue is the temperature of the bulb. Even on the warmest setting, it is very cool. It does not look anything like the warm bulb they have on a video on their website, which makes me wonder if there was a filter on that video, or maybe earlier versions used a different bulb. Definitely disappointing because I bought the lights to have a cozy reading light in my bedroom, but the bulbs are so cool they feel more clinical than cozy.
