OLAPLEX earns polarized reviews: many report visibly stronger, smoother, shinier hair—especially with No.3 Hair Perfector, No.6 Bond Smoother, No.7 Bonding Oil, and the 4P Purple Shampoo—while others experience dryness, heaviness, greasiness, or no lasting improvement. Reviews suggest it can work brilliantly for bleached/blonde or damaged hair but may weigh down fine hair and effects may fade without consistent use; some users also mention fragrance concerns and allegations of hair loss or irritation.

With highlighted and thick long hair, I’ve struggled to find a shampoo and conditioner that leave my scalp clean and my hair weightless. Opalex does both and also smells amazing. I would like to see a spray version of their leave in conditioner as the tube currently pumps out too much product. I also use the Purple Shampoo, while it tones my blond highlights, it’s left my scalp dry.

Spray version of leave in conditioner
I started using no. 4 the purple shampoo, and I find that it has helped with making my hair less brassy. I do find that the shampoo itself is a little liquidy compared to other brands. I also use no.7 (oil) and no 2 (bond) together after I shower on my ends, and I feel like it has made a difference in the look!
Not worth the money. Olaplex didn't do anything for my hair except maybe drying it out further. The only thing I liked using was the bonding oil for styling, but even then I rather use argan oil.

Product and price point don't match up.
I started using Olaplex as a recommendation from my colorist after almost a decade of full head bleaching. I was concerned about breakage primarily, and my stylist said Olaplex was the best thing on the market for damaged hair. I used the product religiously and exclusively for about 4 months, and the only difference I found was I was a lot broker. While I know 4 months isn't the longest amount of time, there was literally no improvement in my hair. Not even a whisper of betterness. Plus, you get so little product for the price. At the time I had very long hair, and in order to use the leave-in treatments and conditioners according to the package instructions (which encourage a liberal application), I would run out of product quickly, using a large percentage of the bottle in one go.

I like it. Some steps much more than others. For my thin hair I did not see a massive improvement over other brands but it is a pretty good product. I love the deep conditioning mask, I use it once a week. Step three is also great and I do it every other week! step zero I cannot figure out if it is impactful on my hair, I felt my hair was rougher when I used it.
Expensive but worked well.

Expensive and tiny bottles. Didn't enjoy the fragrance too much.
eh. not the best

better ingredients
I have used number 3 but I am not sure it's revolutionary, I probably need to persevere for a few more weeks but to be honest it didn't seem to have much of an affect! Also there is now a scandal linked to them, which is not great!
I usually think all hair care products are all talk but olaplex truly makes a positive impact on my hair.

better understanding on how to use the products for the general public
The shampoo you can skip but the hair oil, conditioner, and purple toning line is perfection. The smell is great, the detangling is great, and the function of the products are perfect. The only thing I don't love is the packaging.

It's hard to get the last 10% of product out of the container.

I’ve really liked every Olaplex product I’ve tried so far, and the brand continues to impress me. I recently got to try their Fine Hair Shampoo and Conditioner, and they are absolutely perfect for my hair type!

Olaplex bonding oil has literally transformed my hair. I put a few drops in after I wash, while it’s still wet, and my hair has never looked healthier. The bottle lasts soo long because a little goes a long way. I’ve had this bottle for over a year and it’s not even half empty yet. This is worth it!

Nowadays a lot of people around me start to use this brand and I'm also interested in it. It's more expensive than the others honestly, so I'm more expected to see the difference of my hair after applying it.

If you’re looking for a game-changer in hair care, the Olaplex No. 4 Bond Maintenance Shampoo is a product worth trying. This shampoo is designed to repair and maintain the bonds in your hair, making it a great option for those with damaged or over-processed hair.

I highlight my hair every 2 months, and I try to use olaplex a few times in between appointments to maintain the strength of my hair. I use Olaplex No. 2. My hair always feels softer and stronger after using.

Number 3 from Olaplex has been a lifesaver for my dry, damaged hair. Overall, considering the variety of products I’ve tried, I do not love Olaplex products. When I use other products besides 3, it leaves my hair more dry. Number 3 does work well though.

I have used their No 7 Hair Oil. I love that it doesn't leave your hair looking and feeling oily and greasy like most hair oils. It gives a soft shine and leaves you with your hair looking and feeling soft and fabulous.

I have straight hair and I found this product not to work on my hair texture. I think because my hair is so straight the product doesn't have something to cling onto/bond with. If you have straight hair this is a no.

I started using Olaplex products 6 months ago when my hair started falling out and becoming brittle. I have been please with the brand overall; most significantly Olapex No 5 . I am seeing less fall out and my hair is stronger and less fragile.

Love! I love the way it makes my hair smell and feel, my favorite is the oil. Definitely a good find.
